This has been the easiest tutorial for a rib stitch so far, as well as for fingerless gloves. I tried several other tutorials but none of them did it quite as well as you.
This was my first non-scarf project I've done, and also the first time I've purled. Incredible tutorial on all steps, giving plenty of information for those who need it but that can still be skipped pretty easily for those that are already familiar with it. Thank you so much for such a clear and concise tutorial!
this is the BEST and easiest tutorial i've found to date regarding mittens/hand gloves. super easy to understand. i'm not a beginner at knitting, but i'm not a pro either, so i'll add that thumb-hole technique to my collection of knowledge now :D thank you so much!!
This was the best tutorial I have ever seen on this project! Your directions and demos are so clear! A bonus is that your hands are so beautiful to see! Thanks a lot! I see this was a year ago. I hope you are continuing to make videos!
Thank you for providing an easy-to-follow and understand tutorial for knitting fingerless gloves. I especially appreciate the video times indicated, so I can refer back to a specific place if I get stuck.
I’ve watched so many fingerless gloves knitting tutorials and I gotta say yours was the only one I watched through and through and absorbed promptly. Thank you for your warm approach to this tutorial!!! 🤍🤍🤍 subbed right away
Thanks, Diana A, for your comments regarding having watched so many fingerless gloves knitting tutorials. Madeline's is the first one I've viewed, so you've saved me a LOT of time!! 🙂
Love this, even as a Beg Intermediate knitter. Great slow and tasteful tips for cabling and the puuurrrfect gifts to make for the many nieces and cousins. Thanks so much🎉
Great video! Knitted two hand warmers in one week! One for me and the other as a secret Santa gift, and I’m slightly novice to this world of knitting 💕
This was my first ever knitting project and I was sooo fun to do🥰 Tried doing other projects by following a tutorial but everything I tried were either too difficult or the person sowing how to do it didn’t explain good enough🥺 But THIS tutorial was soo easy and fun to follow🤩I’m going to knit gloves to all my friends and family now🤟😜
You did an awesome job on this video: clear, a nice pace for beginners and pleasant voice. This is a simple pattern that can be adjusted easily to fit one's own hand size and preference for a longer cuff if wanted. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for this! I knit a pair for my best friends birthday! Only my second knitting project ever and they turned out great. Thank you for the clear tutorial
Just asking about how we find how many stitches we need to cast on for the glove to fit? Is there a way to do this by measuring the circumference of our hand? Also amazing tutorial, really easy to follow and helped teach me a few more knitting techniques.
Hey there! 😊 I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your help with my second knitting project. You're an awesome teacher! Your detailed explanations make all the difference, and I'm so grateful for your patience and guidance. Keep up the great work! 🙌 I have to ask the beginners here. how long did this project took you to finish?
Can you tell me how wide your piece is after you're done knitting and before seaming in cm ? I'm scared mine isn't going to be wide enough to fit around my hand
Omg yes I’ve dealt with that before usually with chunkier yarns. I haven’t figured out why quite yet. It never happens when I use long tail. It was a bit harder to learn but I plan to use it for this instead so it’s stretchy in the end.
Hi there, can someone please help me. I am trying to find the pdf for this pattern? Also does anyone know what stitches ratio to make child's version? 7 yr Thanks
Hi - the pdf pattern can be found on my website: www.knittinghousesquare.com/hands/quick-easy-fingerless-gloves If you scroll down beyond the text on the left the 2nd button will be the PDF pattern download
You definitely could! I would recommend though leaving the Knit and purl pattern at the beginning and end portion - it tends to create a tighter fabric for edges
yes now when im half way to only stitch pattern i can see the difference. I tried so many times to do the original way but it was just looking messy. It was my first time so I just did it the easy way. But I will try to do it again after this 😊 Thank you though it was still all really helpful
There's definitely an easier way to make a slipknot. This all feels so backwards for me, almost like teaching a right-handed student to use their left hand.
I've never felt so frustrated and defeated in my life lol. One stutch wrong, miscounted, or even wrapped in the weong direction and you start from scratch again. Fml.
Thank you for the feedback! I do try to include video break points so you can fast forward to any specific part of the video you are looking for - they are located in the video description box.

I really liked how she takes her time to explain how to knit a glove.😊

Omg what a performance to create a slip knot!
It’s so much more complicated than how I do it and too 😅
fr tho its just a slip knot 😭
@@TheStitchWitchPodcastI like it, it's easier once you get the hang of it
This was my first project, did two pairs of the gloves 🎉 super amazing for beginners, going to attempt a beanie from one of your videos now as well 😊
This is great and so needed. As an adventurous beginner I really appreciate this 🙂👏🙂
I just completed one glove. I surfed alot to learn. But yours was the only video that helped me to knit through. Thankyou so much. Lots of love
great wee tutorial! just finished my first mitten! can’t wait to start my second

I love how you cast on!
I love flat knitting! Very relaxing to knit that way. I don’t know why. ☕️
Hello Madeline. I just finished my fingerless glove (left hand) and I love the result. Thank you. Now on to work on the right hand glove.
I’ve watched so many fingerless gloves knitting tutorials and I gotta say yours was the only one I watched through and through and absorbed promptly. Thank you for your warm approach to this tutorial!!! 🤍🤍🤍 subbed right away

thank you! really pleased with how my fingerless glove turned out, it matches a scarf I knit first... now to make a second! 😅
second complete! thanks again!
Love this fingerless pattern I am going to do it and by following your instructions I should nail it I certainly hope so
The pearl stitch is how my Nan taught me it’s exactly the same 😅
I'm doing this on my mom's phone and so far doing pretty good 🎉
Thanks for this! I knit a pair for my best friends birthday! Only my second knitting project ever and they turned out great. Thank you for the clear tutorial
Thank you I have enjoy your video and I am following how to make these gloves. You are a very good teacher.
I am using my husband phone thanks again, Audrey Joyner
Thank you so much!! This video was great and I was glad to see that my results were quite simillar to yours😂.
Finally a great understandable fingerless glove! Great video! Thanks so much! Will be able to get some made before Christmas!
Thank you for the free pattern, I cant wait to try these mittens.
Regards
Beginner ☺
Thank you for this! I have yet to try but I was losing hope seeing all these videos saying it's easy but they use the three needle method 😅

I want to be super good like you!!!!!
Omg this is to easy l am still working on it but so easy tysm
Thank you so much 👏👏👏👏
Thank you for this tutorial
Yessss!! I was waiting for you to post this. Thank you so much, I love all your tutorials 😊
hola guapa me lo puedes escribir en español este que es elástico 2x2 verdad

So well explained 😊
Love this idea!

Excellant tutorial thankyou
Thank you!
Nice tutorial!
Thank you!
How much yarn do i need to make this? Also thank you for the video❤
Just to confirm - do you slip
The stitch at each end ? (I’m doing stocking stitch),& on every row or just knit row
Thanks xx
Okay guys this is my first project after making a simple blanket for my cat 😅 wish me luck 😭
How would it turn out if I did not do the alternate stitches for the opening for the thumb? I'm a first timer...lol
Can you use long tail cast on? I find it easier...Will it come out wrong if I do that vs the one shown?
Yes you can definitely do the long tail cast on instead!
Can you tell me how wide your piece is after you're done knitting and before seaming in cm ? I'm scared mine isn't going to be wide enough to fit around my hand
Every time i use this cast on method i end up with a string of yarn between my needles as i knit it gets bigger idk if its a tension issue or what
Omg yes I’ve dealt with that before usually with chunkier yarns. I haven’t figured out why quite yet. It never happens when I use long tail. It was a bit harder to learn but I plan to use it for this instead so it’s stretchy in the end.
It Doesnid work for me I literally started crying while doing it because it was so hard
Me tooooo wtfff
Ti-ai revenit cat de cat? Sper ca ai mai studiat intre timp 🤗
I did that at the start🤭But when you get the hang of it, it’s much more fun to do and it gets easier and easier❤️
@@johannenorway8924 😅😅😅
Try learning by reading a book, its not that hard you are holding the yarn to tight, relax relax 10:30
👍
with a gauge of 13 st, 9r = 2in and a cast on of 46 st, how should i change the slips?
I’m scared using easy/backwards loop cast on instead of long tail as shouldnt it be long tail to make sure it stretches?
how many rows did u knit until the thumb part?
i think she said one inch for one side and two inches for the other end

Bro the casting on doesnt work it wont like tie onto my needle!
Can I just do all stitch and no purl

AH I don’t get the purl stich
3:08 I already messed up 😭😭
I cannot for the life of me get the pearl stitch its so frustrating
There's definitely an easier way to make a slipknot. This all feels so backwards for me, almost like teaching a right-handed student to use their left hand.
How many balls of yarn did you use for the pair
Clear your throat, good instructions.
I've never felt so frustrated and defeated in my life lol. One stutch wrong, miscounted, or even wrapped in the weong direction and you start from scratch again. Fml.
If you start with the long tail cast on it's easier!
@@anyaarcane3809 Yeah! She made another tutorial using that method and I found it MUCH easier
All I wanted was a pattern......not a lesson in how to knit
You far tooooooo slow!!!
