  • In this episode I show a few techniques to correct colors in photos with a concentration on interior real estate photography since that can be challenging from interior lights and white balance will vary from flash casting colors. These color correction techniques can be applied to flambient, HDR, and other methods as well. Below are links mentioned in the video:

    I just updated my import preset. Going to try the canon standard camera profile instead of adobe color.Thank you so much. Very excited to use these new methods for color casts and white balance.

    If you're not seeing Camera Matching treatment profiles (getting some questions on that), take these steps:
    1. Make sure you are importing RAW files. Treatment profiles do not apply to JPGs or TIFFs.
    2. Make sure you are using Lightroom Classic.
    3. Make sure you are using the latest version of Lightroom Classic.
    4. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Camera Raw.
    5. If you still don't see Camera Matching treatment profiles, then likely your LR database is corrupted from previous Adobe updates. Merely uninstall Lightroom Classic and reinstall it.
    6. If you STILL don't see Camera Matching treatment profiles, then you can opt for the Adobe Standard profile, which is ok, but consider contacting Adobe support to see why your version of Lightroom is missing those profiles.

    Ugh..forgot about changing the opacity. The curves/levels color adjustment often cools the room makes the walls blue even though its supposed to be white

    Hi Nathan, Thank you for yet another great video. I do have a couple questions though. Does the "standard" color profile need to be applied only once to images when they enter lightroom? For example, when I apply my lens/sharpening preset to ALL images after importing into lightroom I may then add another preset which may not include the "standard" color profile. Also, once they are edited in photoshop they are then moved back into lightroom in TIFF files - at this point I would then apply some sort of "final bump" user preset. Would the "final bump" interfere with the previously applied "standard" color profile if the "standard" color profile wasn't recorded in the 'final bump"? Also, since now I am dealing with a TIFF file rather than a RAW file - as the "standard" color profile only applies to RAW files? Thanks again Nathan.

      You're welcome! Those are some of the basics covered in my interiors book, which covers the workflow for pre and post processing, here's a link to that if you'd like to check it out: amzn.to/3TcYXeH

    Thank you for all the knowledge and patience, perfectly explained...a question please...in camera (Canon here) what´s the best color space sRGB or adobe color and in lightroom when exporting sRGB, adobe or ProPhoto? Could not find in any of your videos that info...all the best, trully deserved!

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  Год назад +1

      For real estate photography (and most genres, actually) you should use sRGB, and you should use that throughout your workflow, since that is what is used across the Internet, and also most print-houses are limited to that. That's covered in the interiors book, but also my book "Mastering Color", which I think you'd find useful to get a better understanding of this, here's a link to it on Amazon ES: www.amazon.es/dp/B09KPGVZFT

    Love your work Nathan. I'm hitting issues with my AD600 pro not producing the same flash colour as my speedlights (V860iii). Very frustrating! How do you deal with this?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  Год назад

      Thanks! More than likely it's not the flashes, but the method and cast. This is something I talk about in Mastering Flambient, here's a link if you want to check that out: amzn.to/3C87M3B

    • @quinlanvideo2493

      @@NathanCoolPhoto Yes RAW files, currently using the Canon R3

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  Год назад

      That is odd. If you're running the latest version of Lightroom then they should be there, they've been there since October 2021, see helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/canon-camera-matching-color-profiles.html So it may be that you do need to update to a newer version of Lightroom Classic. Also, you can try the Adobe Standard profile, and if that still doesn't get you close, try the Lightroom calibration I show at ruclips.net/video/Ieu4TeKgrag/видео.html

    Not seeing any camera matching folder in LR. Using the same camera system u are, Nikon. What am I missing? I have all your books so if it’s in one can you lead me there. Many thanks

      First, just to confirm, what camera "model" are you using (Z5, Z6, D610, etc.)? Next, what version of Lightroom are you using, and are you using Lightroom Classic? Lastly, are you using RAW files?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  Год назад +1

      Not recommended. Color will change with every wash. There are much easier methods that are more accurate that you can do in post, I show those in my book on advanced editing for real estate photography, here's a link to that if you'd like to check it out: amzn.to/3EbpULJ
