  • Salvaging some of the most valuable logs and wood on my property. I need to get it milled up into lumber before it rots away! This wood is worth so much money and I can cut in with my saw mill and sell it for fencing, decking, siding, gardening, raised beds, etc.

    You need a prentice knuckle boom for this kind of work I’ve used both excavators and the knuckle booms the excavator doesn’t even come close unless you’ve got a grapple for it it not just closing jaws

    I've been looking for a local place to buy 12-foot long ceiling strapping. Lots of your scrap would work for that. Wish you weren't 1700 miles away.

    might be better if you used the toe boards to level the center of the logs for the first two sides. better lumber less waste. but still awesome. im in central canada and have a small sawmill operation. been watching the mining , just found the logging part . looks like you are into a bit of everything great videos

      Winnipeg over here. How about yourself? Operated a kiln just south west of the city. I'm enjoying the mining and just found Jason's lumber channel today. Neat!

    Hey buddy, can you talk to us about Fred And how he came about that Baker?
    It's a monster of a mill, is it a 80 horse Kubota?
    You should do a video with him answering viewer questions and info.
    What profile bands he likes for specific woods, just a thought don't see many of these!
    I've heard that Baker is a fuff cut timber supplier and manufacturer??
    Thanks for your experience & videos, keep up the great work buddy!🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲💪👌👍🧡🧡

    Do you have a kiln set up? I had a 60x100 shop and we had a kiln across the back 20' of it. Stickered lumber 8' high and brought it down to roughly 8% moisture if I recall correctly. Or do you let it air-dry? Cool!

    • @SJForestProducts
      @SJForestProducts  Год назад

      Right now I'm air drying, but one day I hope to build a kiln!

    What are you going to do with the slash piles? Do they still grind up stuff like that for hog fuel? I did a lot of logging in southern Oregon and northern California, and a lot of it was grinding hog fuel.
