- Salvaging some of the most valuable logs and wood on my property. I need to get it milled up into lumber before it rots away! This wood is worth so much money and I can cut in with my saw mill and sell it for fencing, decking, siding, gardening, raised beds, etc.

I really hope you one day make a small cabin over there
Cut your rot bucks @ 12-14"s they can be used for shingles!
Man between mining and logging you have a lot of cool toys.
Thanks! Lots to do and having machinery makes the difference!
Man you need to clean up around the saw mill. 😆
You need a prentice knuckle boom for this kind of work I’ve used both excavators and the knuckle booms the excavator doesn’t even come close unless you’ve got a grapple for it it not just closing jaws
Nice wood you got there nice wood have a good day
Thanks 👍
Great informative video! Very well put together too! ⚘️
I've been looking for a local place to buy 12-foot long ceiling strapping. Lots of your scrap would work for that. Wish you weren't 1700 miles away.
Haha, sorry I can't be of more help!
might be better if you used the toe boards to level the center of the logs for the first two sides. better lumber less waste. but still awesome. im in central canada and have a small sawmill operation. been watching the mining , just found the logging part . looks like you are into a bit of everything great videos
Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching!
Winnipeg over here. How about yourself? Operated a kiln just south west of the city. I'm enjoying the mining and just found Jason's lumber channel today. Neat!
Where ya from @peteleger? Winnipeg over here.

Hey buddy, can you talk to us about Fred And how he came about that Baker?
It's a monster of a mill, is it a 80 horse Kubota?
You should do a video with him answering viewer questions and info.
What profile bands he likes for specific woods, just a thought don't see many of these!
I've heard that Baker is a fuff cut timber supplier and manufacturer??
Thanks for your experience & videos, keep up the great work buddy!🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲💪👌👍🧡🧡
Who is the S in S & J in wood working?
Great videos!
Glad you like them!
Snaggletooth the Excavator 😅
Do you have a kiln set up? I had a 60x100 shop and we had a kiln across the back 20' of it. Stickered lumber 8' high and brought it down to roughly 8% moisture if I recall correctly. Or do you let it air-dry? Cool!
Right now I'm air drying, but one day I hope to build a kiln!
@@SJForestProducts Maybe one day we can do that together? Maybe sooner rather than later. Interested?
@@jeffchapman8992 tried to find the vid , where the guy built his own kiln out of a side load seacan .. said all in, less than 4k.. used off cuts to fuel ..
Looks like you will need a chipper before too much longer. Sell some chips.
Yeah, lots of waste and cedar chips are expensive. Might be a good side income
🍻👍
What are you going to do with the slash piles? Do they still grind up stuff like that for hog fuel? I did a lot of logging in southern Oregon and northern California, and a lot of it was grinding hog fuel.
I'm trying to make biochar, but its a pain. I think I will just burn them
Ahoj Jason, just found your new chanell. Do you even have some time to rest, or you alwas do something dangerous like mining, crushing, smelting, cutting trees...
Nope, I never rest! I have a 6 year old and 8 year old too so I don't rest and I don't get any sleep. Thanks for watching and supporting both channels!
@@SJForestProducts SUB, looks like more interesting videos on the way... :-)
Shocking... poor sawmill ;)
