      Little Sunshine don’t know if it helps but I was having the same problem & started using Sally products. Once a month 2-step protein treatment, 1 x a week color sealer step 1 & 2 - mix step 1 with 4 oz water & leave on 30 minutes, rinse & then use step 2 for 30 minutes. Alternate weeks use BTZ last call mask mixed with step 2 & leave on 30 minutes after shampooing. These are bonding (Olaplex dupe) products. When Washing use Sally ion sulfate free shampoo & ion conditioner. Before shampooing put xtra virgin coconut oil in hair & leave over night. Started using a satin pillow & also a satin cap. Pull hair up in soft high bun to sleep - leaves lots of body & not tangled. Being really careful when combing wet & not using much heat & using ion Repair leave in Spray. Has really helped my hair. Stopped breakage, Looks shiny & healthy after about 3 months. Sally’s has lots of sales.

    A tip for girls who don't have time in the morning is to curl your hair at night, tighter than you would actually want it .The curls will fall while your sleeping and you wake up with nice wavy hair. I do this all the time and usually only have to touch up a few face framing pieces in the morning!

But I kept practicing and trying new things, and now they ask me for tips, so I tell them everyone's hair is so different and it took a lot of screw ups before I got the hang of it - KEEP PRACTICING.

    The common mistake I see women do as well is clipping the curling iron on, DRAG IT TO THE ENDS (which straightens it) then curl from the ends, up. It will fail every time.

Just when I though I got the hang of it, I realized I was only able to properly curl the hair on the right side of my head but not the left- but it was because when I crossed over to the left side the barrel of the curling iron was not in the back! I’ve used a curling iron on my hair (thin, fine) for years and have gotten adequate results-certainly better than NOT using a curling iron (😂). But watching you do this showed me that 1. My hairdresser does exactly the way you do it, and 2. I have been doing it wrong, starting at the BOTTOM of the strand and curling tightly upwards, then releasing the clamp and letting the strand fall. It’s not that it doesn’t work (the hair does get curled), but it doesn’t end up looking as great as doing it your (and my hairdresser’s) way. Thank you!❤

    The frizzy roots thing, running the iron over it a bit it a golden tip! I am white, pretty basic hair, it’s fine but there is loads of it. And it’s unruly 🙈 the sleek curl with the fuzzy roots is so me. I always think it makes me look like I’ve got grown out dreadlocks with fuzzy top bits. Dreads are cool, love them, but not if you are trying to aim for a sleek seamless look 😆

    I took a video while my stylist showed me but she had 2 free hands while I have 1 while holding the iron. I see how you use the same curl method but drop your other hand and bring it around, so this is very helpful along with your other tips. Thank you!

    Curled my hair for the first time tonight. I have way longer and thicker hair than you, so it definitely took some TIME. But, aside from burning my neck (near the end of course), I think I did a pretty good job. Your initial tips helped me feel a lot more comfortable using an iron. :) Although with how much hair I have, I am having troubles figuring out how to section my hair.

    I watched a few videos reviewing a curling iron I just got since I had trouble- all of them were using it a different way and getting bad results like I did. I was so disappointed that I wasted my money until I watched this video. I used this technique and it worked perfectly.

    I want to learn how to do wet sets. I’m old fashioned. I would love to know the best products to use for setting your hair in rollers or those long things. What the hell is the name of them. Thank you

    • @SmileBaby143
      @SmileBaby143 6 лет назад +3

      Tracy You can use curling rods (perm rods, soft or hard.) or those long hair clips, ugh, I forgot what they are called at the moment lol, but they are the long single side sliver ones that work for pin curls and finger waves (finger waves are another thing in their own tho.). In school we would use gel, any cheap hair gel (not super strong hold), deluded it with a smudge of water and we would comb it into the hair and place the rollers/ set the hair in place with the clips and sit the client under the dryer, the hair would dry within 20mins completely and then you would take it out, comb out the hair with a soft paddle like brush to prevent frizz, and boom, you get that 50s look or huge hair glam look, of course using your fingers or brush you can make any look. If you don’t wanna use gel you can also use hair lotion that they sell in beauty stores. The only hard part is the parting of hair and the position in which you roll it. If you roll it straight out from the head you will have good volume, straight down the part towards the floor will create a Loose look (thing 40s) and then finally if you pull it straight up towards the ceiling your gonna get max volume. I hope this helps.

    • @AleeyaDanielle
      @AleeyaDanielle 6 лет назад

      They are super simple. Just get your rollers and your section will be the same size as the roller. So if you have ones that are 2in by 1 in that’s how big of a section you will take. Then just simply roll it down and secure it with double prong clips, let it dry the style however you desire

    • @TracyD2

      AleeyaDanielle Thank you very much. I guess I need more practice. I get lazy because my hair is long I try to squeeze as much hair as I can in the roller or I roll it up tight towards my scalp and it flops back down damn near my ears. I guess that could be a look 🙄but not what I was going for.

    Oh wow, this is invaluable to me! I don’t curl often because it fries the crap out of my already damaged hair, but when I do I have zero control of the curls, it’s kinda like a cross my fingers and hope for the best situation. Now I see we can plan ahead for our curls! Question: do all the curls have to be curled the same direction or can you alternate backwards and forwards for a more random and natural look? Thanks xxxxxx 💋

    Thanks so so much for this detailed video !! I finally got my hair to curl the way I imagined it!!! I’ve had nothing but kinks and weird waves in all the wrong places so far. The biggest tip is that the clip should always face the front and the hair curls backwards, into the curler👏👏👏 A novice like me is soo happy right now💖💖💖 Thank you thank you!!!

      Make sure you use a heat protector and avoid over using heat and your hair should be just fine. Also consider adding a mask once a week to help keep it nice and healthy.
