On my way from London back to Switzerland where I was working, I took the TGV from Gare de Lyon. Because I was running late, I had to rely on my French friends to help me find the right track etc ... *just* made it as the doors were closing! Great trip. High speed rail is so efficient - they've been talking about it on the Toronto-Montreal corridor for decades.
Great video. Beautiful train station. Years ago many major cities had stations with large train sheds. Most of them are gone.

Hehe yes there was another metro exit closer to your hotel. In fact you walked away from it while underground and reached it back once up on the street ^^
wow compare this to that ancient via rail in canada which goes to nowhere. public transport really sucks in Canada
We need to demand any of our provincial transport ministers to get building up dedicated intercity passenger railway tracks instead of running passenger trains on CN and CP railway tracks.

Flights from Paris to Barcelona are $33. I really wantes to take the train but at that price i think ima skip it and fly there. Thanks for the video.

High speed train can be cheaper if you buy the ticket good time in advance.
The french national rail operator prices their seats by demand, so the emptier the train is, the cheaper the ticket is going to be. And so the price is much lower if you buy your ticket a few weeks in advance

Paris a way more elegant , aesthetic and high end than Barcelona .... even the metro in Barcelona looks dark and old

These trainsets are certainly showing their age. Soon the TGV M will be in service (2024) and we will miss these ugly interiors. Although, these trains may be refurbished by Ouigo and used to expand its network. Deutch Bahn could use some competition.
