Ariana -- you definitely tapped into the teen girl zeitgeist of the mid- to-late 1970s perfectly. You're totally selling it here. So many of the girls of that era - especially the pretty, middle-class ones - were rather eager to be taken seriously as mini-adults but had no drive beyond hanging out with a handsome young man. While I miss many things about the past, I'm so glad more is expected of teen girls today and that they expect more of themselves. This is a such a window to those years, though. A nice balance to the more melodramatic aspects to the show at the time, such as Iris' eternal nervous breakdown.
Yes, true to the times. I too am grateful for the female gender taking life with more introspection although there is a loss of innocence with that deeper insight.
