By the way, that is the last time anyone would ever hear "For The Horde" in World of Warcraft in later updates because the game is no longer about war between two factions.
There is a reason that Arthas was such a huge fan favorite, and super villain... People knew a lot about him, and what was driving him, and how he got to where he was. You're right in that the Jailer lacks that. Visually he looks awesome, but would have been much better if there was some sort of build up to who he was, and why he was like this.
Imagine if when we entered The Maw from Icecrown Citadel, we got a strange, confused questline that starts with us wondering where the Knights of the Ebon Hold and everyone else went and find ourselves *whenever* we need to be in order to (unknowingly) spend time with Zovaal, help him, and at the very end, we find out he's The Jailer, watch him get jailed, and find out we were basically interacting with a vision of his past and learning how he got to where he was. Then we wake up in the *actual* Maw scenario, and SL continues as normal.
I used to be against Garrosh since I've played Alliance all of my life, and it was nice to see Horde as the bad guys...even according to themselves. However, the way they wrote Sylvannas as a "big bad" makes me miss him. He genuinely wanted to build a better Horde and had motives to do what he was doing. Sylvannas has absolutely zero motivation to do what she's doing except for working with her worst enemy's boss? Makes no sense.

Having the Horde ran by a goddamn COUNCIL while the Alliance is a military dictatorship, wtf is going on? Bring back the position of Warchief, give it to Baine, write Baine as a BADASS instead of having him sit in Oribos, but keep the Horde peaceful. Seriously, since when did we still listen to Thrall? This guy couldn't give a shit about being our leader and we're still letting him decide everything? Screw that, Baine needs to shut that shit down hard. You can't have the factions be at permanent peace, that's boring. This isn't a children's movie, the world is supposed to be a dangerous place. They don't have to be in open warfare right away, but this peace has to go at the very least.
Similar circumstances to his father, when locked up by the ogres (wod short films). Really a great callback for a quick raid cutscene. Rip to the best villain since Arthas

@@lapatjani3171 Yup, I agree with everything you said.
WoW hasn't had a decent villain since Arthas. He made me want to kick his ass, and when we did I had a blast. Seems like after that, they were just asspull Villains. Even Deathwing was used lame in that sense.
when the dude stands there with one arm broken and says "you will submit" only to be crushed by garrosh that realy reminded me of the Darksiders 1 Ending Cinematic where the Dude has 1 arm blown off and tells War "Don´t forget who holds the leash" and War answers with "I haven´t forgotten" and crushes his Head
Everyone hated the fact no one know why or what she was planning for years
Then they turn around and do the same thing with the Jailor
They act like their storyline is some grand thing that no one has seen before with crazy twists when its not
But its a well known fact that no one know why or what the dev was planning for years.
she "betray" the jailer and he "kills" her. what did she expect was going to happen? this story is retarded.
@@roiking2740 Pretty sure he gave her, her soul back. "Pity... Still chained by mortality. You did help restore something stolen from me. Allow me to repay you in kind."
@@wesleycolquitt4325 not my point. why did she betray him here. this is stupid. what did she expect to happen. she was freaking fight for this to happen.
if this was the sylvanas they kept telling us about the last two expansion she would have bounded her time and would have betrayed him at his weakness moment. but what she does contradict her supposed intelligence or mastery of strategy she just shot him and expected to kill him !! for fuck sake
@@roiking2740 Exactly. Her character writing was always off but ffs this didn't make sense in the slightest.
Considering the fact that she knew about his powerlvl once he gets all fancy orbs + that hes literally the one who empowered her in the first place how the fk would it make any sense to shoot a tiny babayass arrow on the guy.
On the other hand the jailers writing is awfull aswell. "Here take your soul back oh and let me just unchain the leaders of the factions wich are trying to stop me, they surely cut your head off immedeatly and wont question anything about my plans, what could possibly go wrong. It's not like they beaten gods and titans alrdy"
Arthas is an example of a chad that's abandoned at the worst moments
"It's a Varian cosplay" is genius

I used to be against Garrosh since I've played Alliance all of my life, and it was nice to see Horde as the bad guys...even according to themselves. However, the way they wrote Sylvannas as a "big bad" makes me miss him. He genuinely wanted to build a better Horde and had motives to do what he was doing. Sylvannas has absolutely zero motivation to do what she's doing except for working with her worst enemy's boss? Makes no sense.
Behold : Τhe only soul in all of the shadowlands that both denathrius and zovaal were unable to break. My respect to Garrosh Hellscream.
It's sad when the coolest moment in the game still end up looking like crap. The voice actor carried this scene fucking hard
Garrosh was an awesome character, all I wanted to see was a proud horde beating the shit out of the alliance. The horde campaign, especially stone talon, was a blast and is one of the few things I can remember extremely vividly
Blizzard: 9.1 is live guys.
Garrosh: Fuck this shit, I'm out!
Imagine it being 2021 and blizzards best face animation is like bad machinima.
Imagine expecting good face animations in a game that wasnt even designed to have in game cutscenes
@@BovineIntervention It's funny how wrong you are when literally this very expansion had actual face rigging animations during the intro to Shadowlands. Blizzard have gone out of their own way to say "we can do it, we just don't want to"

So if u dont mind, WHY the fuck are u bringing another game to thr discussion, thats not thr point here, it hurt ur feelings or something man, or u just having a bad day? @@manuelsilva6244 FF14's good or bad animation quality is completely irrelevant to the comment. It's like you're trying to argue that it's okay for WoW to have crappy facial animations because other companies do worse. Shouldn't we all want it to be the best it can be? Everyone knows Blizzard can do better than the terrible animations in that cutscene. Even if your comparison to FF14 WAS relevant, this cutscene was not made decades ago, so what does that even have to do with it?
@@zTxMeta just because its been in the game doesnt mean the game was designed with that in mind, it has always been inconsistent at best lol. But... she already did serve him though? X'D
yeah but did you really think that bliz would remember about things they wrote in their last x-pac, lol.
Serve and working together are quite similar at times, but serving is done with an extremely different intent. Samurai and knights served lords and royalty, body guards and mercenaries work for pay. Their work could be similar, both the intent with which they do it is considerably different
@@txmits507 working together needs a specific amount of equal status in a relationship. Silvanas never had that with the jailer. She always followed his command.

anyone else notice that the way anduin holds his sword to sylvanus' neck looks alot lke the WOTLK cinematic where Arthas holds his sword up? idk if that was intentional but its a cool throwback.
it was the same with how Sylvanas held the sword towards Anduin while he was still chained
Garrosh doesn't die. This is his escape from the maw

I love that they included the word "proudly". While it may have been unintentional, it's a nice call back to Garrosh's overwhelming emotions summoning the Sha of Pride back in MoP. I wonder if IKedit will consider remastering this cutscene some day.
Horde hasn't felt right since he turned evil, was so dumb, he was the one true warchief.
They should have shown us Garrosh locking eyes with Thrall before his soul fades away
And Thrall pissing his Pants as Garrosh fades away.

Why does a cinematic so scuffed hit so hard. The jump animation, the way he picks up the sword and it magically rotates in his hand, the joke of a lipsinc. Yet despite all this, it's glorious.

This is the reason why I joined the Horde and shout "For the Horde" during an epic battle. Blizzard should focus more on building characters like these that are true to themselves, not those that change their personality every expansion to fit the story. Who cares about any story if the characters are bland and inconsistent?
The one true Warchief still doing nothing wrong, other then being total badass ♥️
Garrosh got dismembered to ashes just like Varian. Such a shame…
"It's like poetry. It rhymes." - George Clooney from Batman and Robin.
I mean, it does fit his character, but I really expected more.
This is great, this shows that he believes what he did so many years ago was right, STILL right, he never backed down even with literally the whole WORLD against him, even in death he STILL doesn't back down.
Garrosh has been my favourite character in WC for years and i'm so happy with this, i was afraid he'd repent and become a stupid wuss at the end.
Garrosh did nothing wrong and was the only true warchief.
what made him cool was that he did wrong for the Horde.
umm, dude chaining up a dragon and impregnating her against her will to use her children as flying mounts doesn't sound like "nothing wrong" to me, not to mention corrupting half the continent with the heart of a dead evil god just because fuck it chaos and suffering is fun

arthas was a great example of a villain. you can see how his desire to protect his people at any cost slowly corrupted him and turned him into the very thing he hated
is it just me or the jailer looks like megatron with that armor lol
“The villain sees the error of his ways and stops his/partners evil plan” maybe worked in spiderman2 but it’s so god damn overdone at this point when every single villain in every medium ever has to have. Hack writers trying to be clever by making (poorly written) morally gray villains. Sylvanas is basically Warcraft Hitler but because she tells Goebbles to stop torturing Jews she’s suddenly redeemed?
Thank you for letting Garrosh remain Garrosh, he literally did nothing wrong and this cinematic proves it since his soul didn’t repent.
1000% my thoughts as well.

Very good writing and while I do love Garrosh and wish to have him back - It is very evident he is still filled with Pride and refuse to admit wrong-doing.
