Great video!tip for the axle nuts (if you don’t have a tool like him) use a large crescent wrench with one end on the floor put the bike in first and let it do the work for you
My brake assembly only comes out. A couple of millimeters. Will not come off and the axle seem froze instead the diff. Will not hammer out. Picked the bike up for free. Rear end was locked.
Seems to me, a LOT of that could have gone much easier had he simply used a bit of penetrating oil and had a little more patience...could have probably gotten everything apart WITHOUT having to remove entire axle. Just my opinion, guess I will find out when I tackle mine soon. Good video, informative, just seems it could have been easier, as I said with some patience and some PB Blaster or similiar penetrating spray....
Would it be the same for 97 recon ? Cause that actually looks a mess to get into , I'm not a person of extended patience (if you know what I mean ) thanks sir for the vid !
@@FourwheelerDoctor no it looked like it set inside the vrake hub or behind the brake shies maybe. It looks like a heavy gauage snap ring. Idk where it came from I may have to get a pic of it
Where has this channel been at all my life
Lol thanks for watching!!
Thanks man this video was crazy helpful. I had all the same issues you did plus the inside of my brake drum was toast and I had to get a new drum

This video was very helpful! Thanks for the info. I'm about to tackle my recon rear end
On the rear brake leaver pivot, heat it with a torch and it will pull spray lube into the joint making this proses much easier.

My breaks just randomly quit working do you think replacing this will fix it? also my break lever is seized up
