Rhea vs Liv on wwe raw are running for 3 months they need to stop it after bad blood and Liv should retain it and have more title defences and make the title more important. Remember when rhea was out of wwe and Liv was making the championship more important like she was cutting promos with dominik and zelina and also she wrestled matches against zelina on raw and that's that how Liv was taking care of that title now it just rhea and Liv cutting only promos and beating eachother every week, Liv should have more matches with other wrestlers and start fresh with new story with other wrestlers like Lyra which she made her enemy in her revenge tour or maybe alexa bliss can challenge her after returning and then Liv can take that title easily to wrestlemania.
@@PunchMan77liv with or without rhea was doing nothing with the title, she aint making no title important i mean she aint no becky or charlotte or even rhea in that case, but rhea is another female who did almost nothing with the title while being champion but atleast she looked dominant unlike liv
@@wrestlingfan5464 she doesn't have to be dominant not every heels are like that, she can play coward heel and still be more dominant by delivering great matches in ring and mic work. She just needs a fresh start with other wrestlers amd doesn't have to be like charlotte, becky or rhea, and we haven't seen coward heel for a long time as a champion
@@PunchMan77 yeah I get what your saying but thats a problem with the women's division in general, but saying liv was making the title important is a lie since she has barely defended it and just like rhea she is only foccused on the judmentday stuff
Well she did defend it once against Zelina Vega but their feud was cut way too short bc Rhea made her surprise return and Zelina ended up stuck in a feud with Pure Fusion Collective which to be honest no one really cares about
I'm getting tired of WWE making Liv look dumb. Like, I get she's meant to be cowardly and Rhea meant to be dominant, BUT JESUS CHRIST SHE'S THE WORLD CHAMPION.
I think another thing is that they let the women actually have characters/gimmicks in NXT and then completely scrub them on main roster. Like for example the Unholy Union. Back in NXT Isla Dawn was cursing opponents and making her referees cough up blood, now she’s just ‘Gothy Scottish wrestler no 2’. Shayna Baszler used to be a legitimately scary figure with some honestly terrifying joint manipulation and pain. All gone. They struggle to make secondary women’s fueds because they keep stripping them of anything they could viably build a rivalry around. Whilst they’re are less extreme examples they could still build these women better.
As much as everyone loves long-term storytelling I actually think it hurts the women's division a bit because we have Rhea and Liv feuding for 6 + months which leaves everyone else with nothing to strive for as there isn't a mid-card title and even if you start winning there's clearly no plan to push anyone to face Rhea or Liv atm
i agree but then if the titles change hands quickly and we don’t have long term stories then people will complain about that too and i’d rather have long term stories than short term
@@frenchfries2424 i see what you’re saying that’s fair i just see a lot of ppl complaining about long term stories and rivalries after we were begging wwe to do so for years so i misinterpreted your comment
@@showtime1235 all good bro long term storytelling has its place It's just slightly different with the women imo like with the bloodline were getting a 3 team ladder match next week but Liv has basically only faces Rhea since summer slam
This should happen they too scared to pin Rhea, thats why they also failed to establish a legit threat to her, but with Liv she can help elevate the division while she is a champ
My biggest issue with the Liv-Rhea storyline is that ultimately it DOESN'T need the title. I personally wish Tiffany would cash in on Liv, and Liv and Rhea just turned into a non-title feud.
And it's funny because all of these complaints are being taken care of in NXT by giving the women more to do. It's actually kinda insane to me how NXT almost feels like a women ran show sometimes.
It does need the title part of Liv's plan was taking everything Rhea had. Liv injured Rhea causing her to have to vacate her title which Liv later won. Since Rhea's acting like Judgement Day are losers she doesn't need and is quickly moving on from Dom to Jey all Liv has left that Rhea still wants is the championship.
@@thebatmanwhoposts9600rhea doesn’t need it I like her as a non champion and now that Raquel is back maybe they can start a feud and rhea can do have other big matches not just against Liv Morgan
The things is though, the big title holders need to have some kind of long-standing feuds. Otherwise, people feel that the big titles are being wasted on those who have no saga-length storyline to help make the big titles look more important and worthy of battling for. I mean, who wants to fight for the number 1 premium title belt (mens or womens), when it used instead as a title that just jumps from person to person every couple of months or so, with no real meaning or feelings behind the reason for the fight. Tiffany's storyline is clearly being built to cash in on Nia and then it will create a long running feud between them. For Tiffany to cash in on Liv, that would mean Tiff takes that title back to SD. And they're certainly not going to have both women's titles on SD, and no women's title at all on RAW.
i think booking rhea so strong for at least raw women's division yes turned her into a super star but really buried a lot of women for what over a year now she was in a fatal five way where she super plexed them all and turned it into 5v1 squash match idc what anyone says that's bad booking
Yeah I agree they overbooked Rhea. She was already one of the top names on raw then they made her sqaush ppl like Shayna & Nia. I’ve noticed that whenever WWE strikes gold they can’t seem to pull back and instead goes all into it until it dries without no payoff
They failed in establishing the womens division which is baffling they got the best in all od wrestling, but somehow NXT is beating main roster to a pulp.🙄

@@SNOWQueen87-v1g The main roster isn't just the women's division... AND, he never said he hated the main roster women's division, simply that he thought the WWE had failed it.
I like that they are not saving all the good stuff for PLEs. Jey Uso beat Bron Breaker on RAW. It makes the weekly shows more important and gives them actual stakes. Just 5 months ago when I got back into wrestling the consensus was that a title would never change on RAW or Smackdown. Now I don't know anymore. That uncertainty is entertaining. It provides a "any given Monday" vibe. I agree the women are not getting the same drama the men are getting (with the exception of Rhea and Liv). It is strange to me because there is a TON of back stage drama stuff on NXT with the women, so I know they can do it. All that said.. i love wrestling right now.
midcard titles can change hands on TV, usually more often than world title. The last world title TV changes I remember are Big E in 2021, Lashley in 2021, D Bry in 2018, and Styles in 2017. The Universal title was vacated and won on TV in 2016
@@joeclark2590 the division still has amazing talent but I feel like her absence has shifted the energy I mean she is one of the few who set standards for womens wrestling
They need to take notes from nxt women's division. Its alot more than just fighting for the title, they are giving time to people just by their segments which helps get them over without having to wrestle. Wwe and Aew seem to suffer from not thinking anything matters outside of title storylines.
With Netflix having no network time constraints and Smackdown going to 3 hours, they could easily support women’s mid-card titles. Personally I worry about having too many titles and them losing importance. I’d love one mid card women’s title to start that’s defended across RAW and Smackdown. Just my opinion
I never understood why there isnt a womans like undisputed champion belt? I think thats what i would add personally over a mid card belt, i guess that would indirectly make the raw and smackdown womens championship belts the mid card belts.
@@Sl1mch1ckens the undisputed Championship is the Blue universal title that Roman held and The WWE championship that he won off of Lesnar, those two get combined into a gold WWE championship. So A women’s one would be the Women’s world championship And Smackdown Or Raw title
Yes over a tag team breakup despite being a team for like three months. It wasn't a long successful team with multiple tag title reigns imploding. It's a remnant of the Vince era that needs to be laid to rest.
@@richborn6700 Agreed. It really is ridiculous to have this on again, off again saga between Liv and Rhea, over a very short tag team partnership. I get that their split is just a reason to have them feuding. But honestly, NOT for this long. It's truly ridiculous. Unfortunately, I think it's more been a way to use Rhea to help prop up Liv and try to push her more in some way. But Liv has been in the WWE a few years longer than Rhea. If she hasn't reached the same level as Rhea by now, or even higher, then it's time to move over and start to push more women wrestlers, regardless of which brand they're on. And like mentioned in the video, start to give more women some more ongoing storylines, so we can get to see them wrestle more and learn more about who they are and what they're all about. All these fluffy side matches, that seem more like just matches to fill in time, are not creating any interesting and spectacular characters that make me wanna get invested in them and their storylines as well. And having RAW go back to 2 hours is certainly not gonna help the entire situation, either.
@@xLanzer Dude, I know the Liv fans love to live a delusional fantasy about how popular Liv supposedly is. But the FACT IS, Rhea is genuinely far more popular. Women like Liv, with the pretty blonde generic look, come and go all the time. But Rhea is different. And has become massively popular all around the world since she joined the JD and then won WM 39. Why else did they have the Women's Championship on Rhea for over 12 months. Why else did they put Rhea on the cover of the WWE 2K24 game. Liv has been in the WWE longer, but she's spent more time chasing the title and crying about how she supposedly "deserves" to always fight every woman to be able to have the title on her all the time. Whether it was Ronda, Becky or Rhea, Liv has cried to all of them, demanding she deserved to fight them. Others, like Rhea, know that they have to work hard to get the opportunities they want. And that is exactly what Rhea has been doing.
@@mebeme007 did you really write a fucking essay to respond a sentence? Wow. Buddy, just look at the way they've been using Liv. THEY'RE NOT PROPELLING HER, THEY'RE HURTING HER. Also... Honestly, I feel like a lot of the women look pretty sloppy in the ring lately, which is probably because of the lack of time they get. Women should at least have 2-3 segments per show, and both segments need to both be big stories. Honestly, i would just scrap the tag titles and have 2 mid card titles instead. Overall, the women's scene really needs some direction.
NXT’s women’s division has always been watchable even to this day…. Main roster needs to take notes . NXT women cut better promos , tell more of a story, Thea Hail , Roxanne Perez, and Kelani Jordan and Sol Ruca always have people on the edge of their seats. Even tho on the main roster, Bianca , Rhea and Io are doing the same thing , it’s kinda lot they are all kinda losing the plot due to the samd mundane storylines … All 3 needs better feuds and more to fight over . My opinion 🤷🏾♀️
The reality is, WWE doesn’t really care about midcard women. Iyo and Bianca are popular despite basically having nothing to really fight over. If the audience and WWE themselves don’t care, it’s just there. They could make a midcard title, but it’s the same issue.
I have no idea if Damage Control are supposed to be Babyface or heel. Also I have no idea where Lyra Valkeria is, I just see her do random runins with seemingly random people. Maybe I've missed something.
Damage control is face now they did a slow transition I actually kinda liked it it's just they don't feel on the level of Jade and Bianca even though they are doing great matches they need more segments to develop as characters
@@frenchfries2424 Yes but it was kind of rushed if you ask me and it also doesn't make any sense especially after Iyo beats up Lyra after her match, now she's a face now like out of nothing, just when you are in a conflict with heels and from a story line view If I was Lyra you don't forgive someone who just beaten you up after a match.
@@oxthree448 well I mean damage control isn't even aligned with Lyra and I think they transitioned to feud with PFC but when Dakota got injured they had to pivot and then it just felt forced to be face still but idk I'm okay with it I kinda like them more as a face team anyways
@frenchfries2424 I can understand why they did that because of the injuries to Dakota Kai and Asuka, but if they interact with Lyra they have to show Lyra to be very distrustful towards Iyo because what she did to her, to least show some consistency.
This has been an issue ever since HHH took over. It was arguably worst last year when Rhea was champ and basically never defended her title. Bianca throughout her huge run had some great matches with Bayley, Asuka and Becky but no great feud. Same with Iyo's reign.
WWE definitely needs mid card belts for the women division, because if you’re not in the main storyline you’ll just be in a tag team with someone random or not featured on TV
Couldn’t have said it any better! The issue of the current women’s division is how the WWE is booking division. If you’re not a fan favorite/main eventer or in a faction/tag team then you’re not getting any screen time. The landscape of the women’s main event scene and the division in general feels like a wasteland; On Raw, you have Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan who are going at it with the Women’s World title, and that’s it. There’s no one else in the Main event scene despite it feeling like there should be, such as Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, Lyra Valkyria, etc. On Smackdown, there‘s Bayley, Naomi, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Michin, even so, it feels barren. There's Bianca and Jade as tag team champs, even though they’re such a dominant and popular team, you’re not given a reason to be emotionally invested in them since you know they're gonna break up eventually. Also another factor is that there’s no one credible who can go toe to toe with them aside from Damage Control. There’s also Unholy Union and Pure Fusion Collective but people aren’t given much reason to care for them other than “they’re dangerous and you better watch out!” which could be said for literally any other wrestling tag team. Give more women storylines for people to be emotionally intrigued by! Give people a reason to emotionally care about these characters and their motivations! You don't need the world title to make a feud good!
I agree with you and all that was discussed in the video. Because all that you said was also pretty much mentioned in the video. So I felt there was really nothing more to add, than to say I agree. As much as I love Rhea and I initially enjoyed this feud between them, even I'm starting to get rather bored with it. And I honestly never thought I could say that about Rhea and her matches. It's a case of pushing Rhea and Liv way too much, at the heavy expense of so many others who truly need their time to shine also. I too wanna see more women's ongoing feuds and storylines. I too wanna learn more about other female wrestlers and hope to get invested in others as well.
I agree with most of what is said here. The bottom line is that there is not enough TV time for the women. WWE could use a new brand / show just for the women, that would help, but i dont know if there is enough interest in this. The Rhea/Liv story could have been great, but it turned out cheesy, with Liv being a scared chicken all the time and Rhea is simply not wrestling on TV anymore, looks like she is above that now 😅 We need more competition and more matches. Rhea had a 1 year run with the title, but it was lacklustre: no match at Summerslam 23 and pretty weak opponents. The only outstanding matches where both at Wrestlemania: Charlotte and Becky. People saw Bayleys recent run as lacklustre too, just like Iyos run before. There is a pattern. The booking for the women simply isnt great. Generally there is a lot room for provement here but i think the Nia/Tiffy/Bayley story on Smackdown is pretty compelling. Throw Chelsea into the mix, bring Charlotte and Becky back and things are looking better.
It kept seeming as though they wanted to bring in Raquel Rodriguez as the face powerhouse to recapture their NXT feud. But sadly her skin condition sidelined that. Rhea does well with opponents her size or bigger.
They seem to think every wrestler is CM punk, Roman, Cody so now everyone gets to have long title reigns. And not every storyline is bloodline level. Liv and Rhea have been fighting over a guy for 6+ months and liv has been a cringe champion so far.
I completely forgot NXT introduced the Women's North American Championship because they've done almost nothing with it. So idk how mid card Women's titles would do on raw and sd.
@@WWEWomen-g2d funny thing is they didn’t even have a reason to be aligned in the first place? like they’re heels and have dark gears… i guess… but what do we know about their characters? virtually nothing :/ terrible booking
That's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. So let's go back to 2018 when Triple H were booking NXT women's division, which consists of 70% of the women on the main roster today btw. Great video. Really put into perspective to why I've been enjoying the women's division on NXT way more: more non-title match storylines, title reigns that actually have weight and anticipation behind their defenses, feuds that don't last a million years and a larger pool of talent where even though you still have top stars, you aren't going to be seeing the same five people every week.
As of right now I can think of multiple ways to build up multiple starts and storylines. For example, P.F.C is just not it. Not sure about the other two but Shayna used to be a badass and she still can be. Put her in a feud with Maxxine Dupri. You can do a segment where Shayna hands cuffs Maxxine and prompts her up on a ring post like how Randy did Cena in that "I Quit" Match at Breaking Point back in '09 but instead of a Kendo stick she uses body kicks. You can have her just down right embarrass and demoralize Maxxine in front of a life audience and even kayfabe break her arm and put her out of action for a week. And then the next week, when Shayna is in the ring bragging about how badass and what she did to Maxxine, Maxxine's music can hit and she can run out with her arm and ribs all bandaged up with a Kendo stick in hand (she won't turn tail and run because Maxxines's injured and she's a so called "Badass") and just get to beating Shayna's ass for payback. Not only will Shayna be rejuvenated as a heel but Maxxine will be elevated as a babyface without having to wrestle much as she's still learning killing two birds with one stone.
1. It seems like the writers come together to out all their energy in the main event storylines then they just piece together random matches and try to justify it with a quick back stage interview. That's for both men and women. They don't rarely have anything for mid carders or openers and you can feel it. 2. They need some overlapping feuds. Its always when one is done then the new one comes out of thin air. They need to have 2-3 feuds for main eventers. Main feud - Current red hot. Main focus Threatening feud - Have a few run ins but they aren't main targets of each other. They are only in threat level feuding. One more bad move can change everything. Seed feud - Nothing much happened but you can see this could become something in the future. 3. They need to use the tournaments and battle royals and spring boards for future stories...Someone gets eliminated you from the title picture and they chase them to the back stage and that's it. That's an opportunity for a feud but nope.
It just feels like our main event superstars or most popular ones barely ever wrestle anymore and is just promos . They leave the mid card wrestlers to fight every week
This is a little bit of a problem with their main event talent. They never wrestle on tv. CM Punk hasn't have a match on Raw since coming back. Drew when was the last time he fought on tv. Cody and Roman the same thing. I'm happy big names like Io and Bayley get a chance to work on tv.
It’s a shame that the women’s division feels second class. I’ve always been a massive advocate for the division , but I always feel like the management don’t give them the storylines they truly deserve. Not everyone should be chasing gold, micro storylines is a great way to include women
@@johnstorm9314 I think the issue is there's a lot of female wrestlers still trying to create a name and create the right crowd reaction while the ones that have that are either injured or taking a break. With that being said I think they're doing a decent job rn. The women's division could be better but considering the amount of female star power that's currently not on tv due to injury or breaks is why the division feels less than normal
unfortunately true. They should be valued wayyyy higher, but they js don’t invest anything into them to make people care. I care, but that’s cause I’m a wrestling fan, and I care abt the health of the sport, especially, when the quality of an aspect of the sport I love is going down.
I know that there's already too many shows, but the women would really benefit from their own show. It doesn't have to be long, just an hour every week. Hell do it on RUclips.
Biggest thing is time. Midcard titles won’t matter if there’s not any time allocated towards them. Look at the split tag titles. Them doing brand exclusive B PLEs would help a lot. Also not giving multiple segments to one group every week, aka Judgment Day
I realized this was 2 weeks ago but I'll add on. Sometimes champions not fighting regularly can be a good thing if done correctly. It's supposed to be a big deal when the champion is actually fighting. It's supposed to be "new never before seen" type of things where there's intrigue. Roxanne (and Asuka before her) does exactly that. Gunther also does this. This is the main thing if you don't care about wall of text. The story is that Roxanne has all of these international talents and whole other promotions coming in. Everyone expects that Roxanne will surely lose this time but she gets by. At the same time, she's making herself a star. Rubbing shoulders with CM Punk. Early on, she did regularly defend the title with basically anyone like Chelsea and Natalya until it got to second gear. At the same time, NXT women getting their faces out there. Interacting with Bianca and Jade. Big debuts. Some returns. Regular backstage segments/vignettes. Collaborating with TNA. Every time I see NXT, I think "I wanna see more. What's next?" It's never just Roxanne, I want to see the whole division (and really the whole show period) SmackDown still kind of does it right. It's clear the main storyline is Nia and Tiffany but at least mostly everyone is doing something. Bayley kind of floating around. Mainly because Damage Ctrl never actually got a resolution and now they're kind of faces too. There's also no resolution with her and Bianca, they've been lowkey building this since forever. They're also lacking Charlotte Flair. I think in spite of these shortcomings, they're doing a lot with what they have. Chelsea and Michin killed it with the Dumpster Match. They got buildup and the right person won. I'm still glad Piper gets some small parts but imagine her getting a regular title shot and not just because they're touring Scotland/Europe. They gave Candice the Speed title, which is basically just SmackDown Dark Match Championship but we'll take crumbs at this point. Raw is like Liv and Rhea Jerry Springer type of stuff and who cares about the rest. It was hot at the beginning but it's like "who cares about the title." Rhea literally walked out of Bad Blood just to smack Dom like a piñata. At this point, the women's title is just an accessory. It's been an accessory when she had it. The most attention being the house shows when the stinkface when viral. The next best thing is Iyo and Kairi. They're getting a tag title shot but they're building Lash Legend/Jakara for SmackDown so naturally there's probably a foregone conclusion somewhere and maybe an interference from PFC, so there's little to look forward to until proven otherwise.
I totally agree with the lack of investment on bayley and bianca tension when bayley became a babyface and the women's champion getting along with naomi, we see a few weeks ago that bianca still don't get with bayley on a backstage segment, but this story should get more investment during bayley boring reign
also the issue is really about REDEMPTION, besides rhea being already loved by the crowds she needs a redemption arc with the rest of the locker room if she really is gonna be a wargames team leader next month, why would other women help her?
I honestly think they should have a G1 style tournament to crown the first midcard champion. That would give them so much more freedom and let storylines write themselves organically
So, If there's going to be a mid-card title the women's division needs to be expanded. It not only that there's a lack of titles, but a lack of chances for female talent and opportunities. There's so much unused female talent on the roster that it's insane (Lyra Valkyria, Elektra Lopez, Kianna James, Blair Davenport, etc). Also my problem with the women's tag team division is that since they don't have many tag teams with star power (mainly due to the fact that they barely get any in ring face to face promo time to get the audience to care) they have to take singles stars and use them which takes away from the singles women's division leaving only a couple of real contenders on each show. This is why we only have 1 or 2 compelling storylines currently. That and the fact that feuds have to be based around titles, because unlike the men's division, the women's division lack enough proven superstars to make rivalries that the audience will care about work without a title. Hopefully this changes during the draft when they bring new talent up to the main roster. As of right now they should hold of on a mid-card title because they don't have enough talent to make it work in a compelling way and they limit storylines in the women's division to 2-3 months as far as the titles goes so more women in the division get more title opportunities and we can have more storylines. At least until smackdown goes to 3 hours.
I for sure think mid card belts are needed for women and I think if handled right would be cool..having their own show would maybe help like Women Wednesdays or something maybe have the mid card belts show up alot on that show maybe fun...
The only women on this roster who can currently be a main eventer without a belt is Becky Lynch right now. Bayley when she is booked right is also in that position as for a fued with Naomi it just doesnt work they basically have the same character. If they became a tag team instead it would work better than a forced af fued. As for Pfv I like the idea of them just beating up the entire division right now before they get a title it fits their character.
Now that you've pointed it out, it's very funny that becoming a main eventer in WWE now kinda means you barely wrestle outside of PLEs (except for maybe Cody Rhodes). Gunther, Drew, CM Punk, Rhea, and Liv for example haven't had non-PLE matches for a while
to add to the men's feuds: Braun and Bronson is/ was A+ entertainment. at any rate though, maybe women's wrestling needs main-roster, mid-card titles... and the women's side needs more blood feuds like Charlotte-Becky. and Power Fusion Collective should not be jobbing at all.
The problem with the women's tag team division is that it still exists despite the fact nobody really cares about the tag titles or who holds them. You might be happy that Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are the tag champs now but then you realize they have nobody to defend the titles against except for Damage Control and Unholy Union. Yeah there's Pure Fusion Collective but they're a thrown together faction who will win the titles then feud with the other 3 times I've mentioned for the next year until another makeshift tag team is created to win the women's tag titles. The problem with the women's division on Raw currently is that fact that Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley isn't about the WWE Women's World Championship, it's about Dominik Mysterio and the title isn't important. We could have the same feud if you remove the title out of the equation and IMO it would be better because the title could be on someone who actually defends it. Also despite the fact that the WWE Women's World Championship is second to the love triangle, it still matters to Liv Morgan but she doesn't care enough to defend it and worse nobody but Rhea Ripley cares enough to try and take it from her. I hope this feud doesn't continue until WrestleMania, it should end at Bad Blood and if Rhea Ripley has to be Women's Champion after WrestleMania, let her win the Royal Rumble and challenge Nia Jax instead of temporarily putting the storyline with Liv Morgan on pause, because Vince McMahon did that 2 years ago when Liv Morgan was trying to win the Raw Women's Championship from Becky Lynch then at WrestleMania they had Bianca Belair win the title instead. There's no problem with the women's division on SmackDown other than Nia Jax only having 3 challengers (Bayley, Michin, and Naomi) but they still have Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Tiffany Stratton as possible contenders.
The WWE needs a 3rd weekly show, to showcase more of their talent and so we can get to see more of a mix up of their lower and mid card wrestlers. Especially if they're gonna reduce RAW to only a 2 hour show soon. I mean, what's the point of having so many wrestlers on the roster, being paid a lot of money (some getting massive amounts) and we barely get to see the low and mid carders. And they just get treated like fill-ins, rather than investing in them and their characters so much more. Those lower ranked wrestlers, whether female or male, are also working just as hard in the gym and learning the art of wrestling. They're doing all they can to become big names, too, but they're just not getting the respect and attention they also deserve. It could benefit the womens and mens divisions in so many ways, to push the lower ranked wrestlers more often. Heck, even with merchandise sales. I'd be happy to buy a t-shirt of a mid carder, if I liked them enough and I enjoyed what they offer the fans and the audiences often enough. Because I'm certainly not gonna buy the t-shirt of someone who I hardly get to see, know very little about, but is only manufactured to be simply liked or hated and that's all they're supposedly worth to the WWE.
The hope with women's mid card titles is that it'll give more stories to the division and give women that aren't seen as top champions, opportunities. That being said, I think those wouldn't be featured just like the tag titles. That's not the fix that needs to happen. The issue is the division is top heavy with little to no mid card scene in the women's division. The women's division needs personal rivalries and time to elevate women to feel like they could be at the top of the division. Once this investment into mid card feuds, clear character development, and elevating women goes in then you can introduce mid card titles and really make those feel like a necessity and a prize worth fighting for.
Yes, you are right. I now feel confident that the female superstars now are capable and have charisma enough to have to big storyline that very big. But now the story and importance of them seems to be under men. I don't know.
People say that the women need a mid card title, but adding titles won't fix the problems with the division. The company has enough problems writing stories for the the 2 women's titles already. Rhea had a long run, but nobody besides Becky and maybe Nia felt like a threat to her. Many of her defenses were someone wins a number one contender's match, so they have a title match and that's it. Iyo went almost 4 months without defending until her match with Bayley at Mania. With a mid card title, it'll probably be in the same boat as all 3 tag titles where it barely gets any attention and stories won't have any depth.
My feeling is if you’re going create more titles - I’ve always been a fan of the speciality titles - like the Hardcore championship. It’s got a specific set of rules which makes it different from the world title.
I love the 5 match formular for PPVs. Its great to see feuds end on Raw and Smack Down. This makes Raw and Smack Down important and especially more fun!
i still think 2021-2022 was the best of women's wrestling in wwe: the feud of sasha-bianca-becky, becky's title feuds, mandy's nxt run, naomi vs sonya, even tamina and dana brooke were utilized with more personality during that funny wedding and 24/7 title arc
In order to justify women's mid carder titles, they have to combine the women's division on both Raw and SmackDown as well as get rid of the women's tag titles.
The Womens division is the biggest it’s ever been and they need a mid card title that can cross both brands or two mid card titles. One title worked before due to having less women for years
Several problems I see right now: 1) Fueds that eat up a lot of TV time that also involve one person holding the belt hostage (Liv vs. Rhea). Feuds that don't involve the belt (Punk/Drew) allow for more opportunities surrounding the title scene 2) Champions rarely having TV matches (Liv and Nia is also starting to fall into this) 3) Injuries - Clearly things are being stalled a bit until stars like Charlotte and even Alexa come back 4) The feeling on inevtiablity that Rhea will eventaully squash Liv and this all feels like we are just wasting time until then 5) Bianca and Rhea are booked way too strong, yet also never face each other 6) Bianca having to babysit a green Jade Cargill. Also both are booked as unbeatable monsters so they squash the momentum of anyone else. 7) Tieing up elite singles talent in the tag divisions (Bianca, Iyo Sky) 8) Tieing up championship level women in feuds involving men (Again, Rhea and Liv) 9) I think Tiffany Stratton has been booked very well, but they need to capitalize and put the belt on her soon. She has ready made feuds that have been teased with several people (Nia, Chelsea, Trish Stratus, Bianca, a rematch with Becky, and of course Charlotte) 10) & overall lack of dedicated TV time for the performers. Although, I do not think this is the biggest problem.
1) and 2) are the biggest problems. Tiffany cashing in on Nia is too predictable I'd love to see Tiffany cash in on Liv who has been a cringe champion and is holding the title hostage at this point. As you just mentioned Liv and Rhea are feuding over dominic not the title so might as well take it out of the equation. They could use a title reign to push Tiffany into a top level player. Then have Alexa or Charlotte return and take it from there.
It’s been 2 weeks from the video, I’ll say the big issue with the women’s division is that there’s only a few women who are very over right now. Unholy Union, PFC, KC2, are all teams that just aren’t over at all, when you compare them to Damage CTRL, Bianca/Jade, Chelsea/Piper, Tiffany/Nia. It’s hard for them to build new stars if most of the women stars are gone. (Becky, Charlotte, Asuka, Bliss). They need stars to make stars, and right now it’s hard for them to build credible stars without stars already there. (Smackdown is better in this regard as Bayley at least is somewhat over as is Bianca to give different women screen time).
Maybe it's just me being nostalgic but I feel like they used to do so much more with less talent (on average) in the Attitude Era. Idk if that's because Raw and Smackdown were continuations of each other or what but the female division specifically is the best I've ever seen (been an off and on fan since the early 90s). Wild take kill the brand split Go back to 3 mens titles (idk how I feel about retiring the US or IC title otherwise) get a women's mid card title and focus on a more core roster with shows 2 nights a week. Idk how hard that would be on the talent but I feel like the overall product was better back then and more captivating when 15 year old me was rushing to the TV to see what Steve Austin or The Rock were doing next. I enjoy the current story lines and I love Cody as WWE champ but I don't feel like the stories hook me as much anymore. I often forget what happened last week on Raw or Smackdown vs never doing so when I saw the other show a few days later.
I agree. I think we do need the titles, but also time and segments for the women to develop. They really could even have like Bayley feuding with Naomi (I assume they will eventually) and turn it into a blood feud. We need the drama inside the women's division. They genuinely have a shit ton of talent they're not using properly.
I think its fair to give the women's division mid card titles, it just makes sense and could create more opportunities for bigger story lines for more women, and yes I agree the stories being told in that division are lacking weight BUT that shouldn't be an excuse to not give them mid card belts when the men's mid card division/titles suffered from the same thing for YEARS and nobody seriously thought it would be actually good to get rid of the US or the IC titles
I'm going to suggest something that might be a little radical. What if we gave the entire women's division their own show? Just a one hour long show where they have matches, build up rivalries and whatnot. Like screw Speed, and use that hour to develop stories centered around the women's division. It could be a great way to build up the tag division and an extra place to go to for midcard title contention.
I was really hoping and excited for a Bayley dismantling Damage CTRL story but as soon as the title was gotten that dropped. I really wanted to see Bayley just go full on vengeance and try to break the group and that sputtered so hard
I agree Bailey didn't do much with her championship rain. Bianca could still be a good match-up against Liv right now even though she is tagged with Jade. I think it's wrong that Liv has had the championship with no opponents when plenty of women can do it, especially when Rhea wasn't here for 3 months!
I have a solution: Bring back the "Evolution" PLE for the women. It gives a chance for the rosters of RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and even inviting TNA/Impact stars a chance to put on some great matches, with all respective storylines on all brands to hit a high point. Make this the "Women's WrestleMania" in a sense. My first live show ever was WWE Evolution and I loved it! You had Ronda Rousey as a headlining star(at the time, a cheaper alternative to seeing her fight in UFC), HOF's Trish, Lita, and the Bella Twins, stars from all 3 brands, plus the finals of the 2nd(and last) Mae Young Classic that featured current fan favs Iyo Sky(Shirai) and ("Timeless")Toni Storm! Can you imagine Roxy Perez vs. Bayley? Or Charlotte returning to face off with Bianca Belair, FINALLY?! Or Jordynne Grace vs. Becky Lynch? How about Kelani jordan vs. Liv Morgan? Plenty possiblities. Dream matches galore!
if Liv wins at Bad Blood, and they do like a Raquel Return, could set up Liv vs Raq, vs Rhea or even just Rhea vs Raquel, also SS should be brand vs brand and they could do Champ vs Champ match for women, do like Nia vs Rhea, that would FEEEEED
I dont think anyone can deny Liv and Rhea are the two top women on raw and maybe even in the entire wwe right now. I love what Rhea and Liv are doing but what do you do if rhea wins back the title besides Liv and maybe Bianca no ones taking title off rhea if she wins it back.
The honest problem with WWE is now the run time. It's not long enough to support all the talent. So they cut people to keep storylines going and focus almost the entire show to the main storyline.
Rhea vs Liv already have a great concept of rivalry. Remember that they were once tag patterns and then Rhea turned on Liv. Liv then was out for a like half a year before coming back on her so called revenge tour. Their story should have been about Liv Morgan wanting payback against Rhea Ripley for her betrayal. Not fighting over Dominick freaking Mysterio. Then Liv got a huge win over Rhea when Judgement Day banished Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. Let their either final battle be about the title as a mixed tag match. Rhea and Damian vs Liv and Dominic. Not Rhea and Liv fighting over Dominick while he's in a cage. Just get rid of the Dominick angle and stick with the Rhea/Liv tag history and you're golden.
If the third hour is confirmed think Smackdown is doing fine with two hours & maybe just have the go home shows for three hours, with the talent that’s not sanctioned on the ppv/ple in making it a great special edition of Smackdown. Working out fine with Kelani Jordan, so the new plan secondary titles will work out on Raw & Smackdown
I don’t think the storytelling issue of the women’s division gets fixed with more titles, but they do need mid card titles because most of them don’t get showcased. The division feels spread thin because we don’t see them actively forming clicks, fighting over personal stuff or simply competing to rise up the ranks. A mid card title could help establish women that could later become stars, just like the Intercontinental championship build Gunther to become a star.
They need to focus on more women than Liv and Rhea on Raw and even more than that focus on the freaking Women’s World Championship because currently it’s irrelevant to the story.
Great vid. Agreed. Womens wrestling has always been good just not in WWE sadly. Outside of the Women’s titles and tag scene the women don’t really have much to do. Their doesn’t seem to be any grudge matches like there are with the men. If you go back to the ruthless aggression era, granted it wasn’t perfect and matches were shorter but with the likes of Trish, Lita, Molly, Victoria, Mickie, Jazz, Beth etc you had really good rivalries and not always over the title. Yes their was still horrid standards but not as much as the attitude era or when the “Divas” came into existence. They certainly had more to do. Also some stories culminated in great matches. Hell Trish and Victoria’s street fight for the title was immense. I think a women’s midcard would help but again only so many can compete for the belt and how long before it becomes almost redundant.
any know what happen to the Leray and Hartwell storyline? i was atleast a little interested to see what would come out of it but it literally suddenly stop. i feel like they give on on the smaller stars and their storylines a little too easy.
WWE kinda has wrestlers that can make main event stories but it seems like there is not always a plan for everyone. Wrestlers like Bianca, Jade, Iyo who are prime time wrestlers but don't get stories outside the titles
WWE should focus more on non title feuds, the Chelsea Michin rivalry is already heating up to the boiling point and we might get Jaida and Lola non title feud rivalry for fighting over The Fatal Influence team on NXT.
i think if they build up the women division the midcard titles could work the thing i feel like is we need like a women only show like we use to have glow but also have them go to smackdown and raw
WWE can do non-title feuds, it’s clear to see with Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman, yes it’s just the old big old men, monster blah blah blah, but it works, it’s been so fun, we need more feuds like this for the women.
one of the biggest problem with wwe's women's division right now is the alignment system when it comes to both raw & smackdown women's rosters because on the raw women's roster there's a lack of credible heel opponents while on the smackdown women's roster other than bayley & naomi there's a lack credible babyface opponents which why i think rhea hasn't won the title from liv yet because she's not going to have any credible heels to defend her title against as of now i know raquel just returned but we have to see what actually happens with her & as for smackdown other than bayley & naomi they're the only credible babyfaces in the women's main title scene as of now against nia jax but obviously the main story is tiffany stratton being set up cash in her mitb on & the title from nia leading to a babyface turn will it help the smackdown women's roster babyface woes reminds to seen
WWE is simply trying to combine sports with entertainment. With their top stars, they are allowing time to build and promote rivalries to where when they wrestle, it is a huge deal. Much like other athletes (MMA, especially). With the women, however, there can really only be room for one women's match to properly build. Everyone else is meant to just entertain the crowd. The Cruiserweight Division has this same problem. WWE's roster is also pretty crowded.
Wwe should do 3-4 hour ples except the big four, id be happy with those going 5 hours. Smackdown and raw should be two hours but if they insist on going 3 hours then raw and smackdown should be 2 and a half hours and then the last thirty minutes could be a Talk show like raw talk or smack talk again. Considering how much WWE is going for a more sports broadcasted product i think it could work.
I HATE the Liv-Dom-Rhea never ending storyline. I don't understand Rhea's popularity anyway and having your two top women fighting over trailer trash Dom is demeaning and straight out of Real Housewives. Does Rhea even actually wrestle any more? It's good that Tiffy is getting lots of time but I think they dropped the ball with Zoey Stark. They wasted too much tv time on Maxxine Dupri. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Once Becky and Charlotte come back everything is going to revolve around them anyway.
Honestly I think what they're doing right now is pretty great. They're giving more time to wrestlers that the crowd gets behind, which is what HHH talked about when first taking over creative. That roster is packed to the gills with talent, so why give more time to wrestlers who dont make the best of it. The reason chelsea green has this dumpster match is because she makes every second count when she's on screen. No one wants to tune in to watch pure fusion collective scowl and point at people, and I understand that its hard to get invested without a story, but it's also bad business to give more story time to a group that the crowd isn't interested in. Especially when theres a ton of other incredible talent waiting for their chance.
meanwhile the nxt womens division feels like a world title
Yup!
Rhea vs Liv on wwe raw are running for 3 months they need to stop it after bad blood and Liv should retain it and have more title defences and make the title more important.
Remember when rhea was out of wwe and Liv was making the championship more important like she was cutting promos with dominik and zelina and also she wrestled matches against zelina on raw and that's that how Liv was taking care of that title now it just rhea and Liv cutting only promos and beating eachother every week,
Liv should have more matches with other wrestlers and start fresh with new story with other wrestlers like Lyra which she made her enemy in her revenge tour or maybe alexa bliss can challenge her after returning and then Liv can take that title easily to wrestlemania.
Tbh the Liv and Rhea thing is getting kinda boring...the same beats week after week, and Liv acts like there is no one else to defend the belt against
Well she did defend it once against Zelina Vega but their feud was cut way too short bc Rhea made her surprise return and Zelina ended up stuck in a feud with Pure Fusion Collective which to be honest no one really cares about
@@Roddy425well maybe liv and zelina can start a feud up
I'm getting tired of WWE making Liv look dumb. Like, I get she's meant to be cowardly and Rhea meant to be dominant, BUT JESUS CHRIST SHE'S THE WORLD CHAMPION.
That's been wwes m.o. for a long time now
I think another thing is that they let the women actually have characters/gimmicks in NXT and then completely scrub them on main roster.
As much as everyone loves long-term storytelling I actually think it hurts the women's division a bit because we have Rhea and Liv feuding for 6 + months which leaves everyone else with nothing to strive for as there isn't a mid-card title and even if you start winning there's clearly no plan to push anyone to face Rhea or Liv atm
i agree but then if the titles change hands quickly and we don’t have long term stories then people will complain about that too
and i’d rather have long term stories than short term

For real tho
@@charlieflickinger7372 Yeah at this point if you want to watch women's wrestling, NXT is the place to watch it.
NXT has arguably the best women's roster in the WWE & all of professional wrestling, and they say so on NXT quite often.

Yes over a tag team breakup despite being a team for like three months. It wasn't a long successful team with multiple tag title reigns imploding. It's a remnant of the Vince era that needs to be laid to rest.
@@richborn6700
Agreed.

Dude, I know the Liv fans love to live a delusional fantasy about how popular Liv supposedly is.

Finally someone noticing the injustice with women’s booking
I think that a WWE Women's Intercontinental & United States Championship would make for alot of great matches without much story.
Iyo and Bianca are former women's champions and Bianca has main evented a WrestleMania. I wouldn't classify either as a midcarder.
I have no idea if Damage Control are supposed to be Babyface or heel. Also I have no idea where Lyra Valkeria is, I just see her do random runins with seemingly random people. Maybe I've missed something.
Called up ,those who called her up had no plan for her,now she's demoted to nxt

After 1 month of women's midcard belt excitement fades away well be back to not caring cuz wwe themselves don't care
Nah, it will over saturate everything.
Fix the tag division and eat up talent that way
Couldn’t have said it any better!
The Rhea/Liv story could have been great, but it turned out cheesy, with Liv being a scared chicken all the time and Rhea is simply not wrestling on TV anymore, looks like she is above that now 😅
We need more competition and more matches.
Yea, they squeezed Lyra into an ongoing feud. What happened to Blair Davenport? I hope they do get more titles
blair’s missing ever since naomi humiliated her in that triple threat match lmao 😂
her aligning with unholy union went nowhere
@@WWEWomen-g2d funny thing is they didn’t even have a reason to be aligned in the first place? like they’re heels and have dark gears… i guess… but what do we know about their characters? virtually nothing :/ terrible booking

Hbk should be incharge of booking the womens division on the main roster
That's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. So let's go back to 2018 when Triple H were booking NXT women's division, which consists of 70% of the women on the main roster today btw. Back then everyone was saying that Triple H should book the women's division because Vince hates Women's wrestling. So now that Triple H *is* booking the women's division you're still not happy with the booking and the HBK to book it......dumb dumb dumb
@@Generalbas1972 I wasn't one of the people who said that he should be booking the women's division.....plus you also know how trash women's wrestling is if you ain't in the feud of the main title they don't care
@@TZeditzzz dude your first comment literally said: Hbk should be incharge of booking the womens division on the main roster - can you even keep track of your own lies? :P
@@Generalbas1972 bro I was referring to hhh that I never was one of the people who said that he should be incharge of the women's division on the main roster
@@TZeditzzz oh okay i misunderstood then, I apologize for that. However Triple H was in charge of the NXT women's division in 2018-2019 where most people thought it was the best women's division in NXT of all time.
Main focus
Threatening feud - Have a few run ins but they aren't main targets of each other.
Cody is still fighting on TV. But it looks like we will never, ever get to see Roman, CM Punk, Gunther or Rhea wrestle on TV again 😅
True, Punk, Drew, Gunther, Cody, Roman, Liv and Rhea pretty much don't really wrestle on tv anymore.
Punk kinda earned it. He is one of their main attractions. Liv and Rhea being treated the same way is laughable tho
It’s a shame that the women’s division feels second class. I’ve always been a massive advocate for the division , but I always feel like the management don’t give them the storylines they truly deserve. Not everyone should be chasing gold, micro storylines is a great way to include women
Man if they have Liv drop the title to Rhea they are gonna put themselves in a hole down the line i’m ngl
The current women's titles ARE midcard on a very good day.
Can't think of any woman in WWE other than Rhea Ripley who could legitimately main event a show and for it not to feel forced.
Rhea is not a main event way to think raw are way down since Rhea return Becky in 2019 was the only main event woman wrestler
I know that there's already too many shows, but the women would really benefit from their own show. It doesn't have to be long, just an hour every week. Hell do it on RUclips.
I think the women's division would be better if it had its own show
Biggest thing is time.
What's next?" It's never just Roxanne, I want to see the whole division (and really the whole show period)
SmackDown still kind of does it right.
Good Video. I hope this picks up traction because it is appalling how poorly the women's division is booked on the main roster.
They need another all-female PLE in my opinion
They should have Bianca and Jade feud and turn the Tag Titles into a mid card title. Thank you for your content. 💙
Chelsea is ready for the big main event push & has been for a while
Now that you've pointed it out, it's very funny that becoming a main eventer in WWE now kinda means you barely wrestle outside of PLEs (except for maybe Cody Rhodes). Gunther, Drew, CM Punk, Rhea, and Liv for example haven't had non-PLE matches for a while
That’s what I’m saying!! I started noticing it like a year ago. Top talent don’t have matches on tv much at all anymore
@AssembleWrestling I guess it helps sell PLEs more, but it's pretty funny to think about
You're Thumbnails never disappoint.
Thank you !
to add to the men's feuds: Braun and Bronson is/ was A+ entertainment.
at any rate though, maybe women's wrestling needs main-roster, mid-card titles... and the women's side needs more blood feuds like Charlotte-Becky. and Power Fusion Collective should not be jobbing at all.
One title worked before due to having less women for years
and just like that, Rhea and Liv are finally interacting with other women now
Several problems I see right now:
1) Fueds that eat up a lot of TV time that also involve one person holding the belt hostage (Liv vs. Rhea). Feuds that don't involve the belt (Punk/Drew) allow for more opportunities surrounding the title scene
2) Champions rarely having TV matches (Liv and Nia is also starting to fall into this)
3) Injuries - Clearly things are being stalled a bit until stars like Charlotte and even Alexa come back
4) The feeling on inevtiablity that Rhea will eventaully squash Liv and this all feels like we are just wasting time until then
5) Bianca and Rhea are booked way too strong, yet also never face each other
6) Bianca having to babysit a green Jade Cargill. Also both are booked as unbeatable monsters so they squash the momentum of anyone else.
7) Tieing up elite singles talent in the tag divisions (Bianca, Iyo Sky)
8) Tieing up championship level women in feuds involving men (Again, Rhea and Liv)
9) I think Tiffany Stratton has been booked very well, but they need to capitalize and put the belt on her soon. She has ready made feuds that have been teased with several people (Nia, Chelsea, Trish Stratus, Bianca, a rematch with Becky, and of course Charlotte)
10) & overall lack of dedicated TV time for the performers.
I like the thought of women's mid level titles. Especially seeing as how it's an ever expanding by year roster so yes bring those belts in
It’s been 2 weeks from the video, I’ll say the big issue with the women’s division is that there’s only a few women who are very over right now.
Smackdown Tiffy storyline is getting better. Raw Liv vs Rhea one is getting boring. The world title feels less important in their feud
Man I agree. Notice there is no Rematch when the champion loses now. Bayley barely defended the title till she lost it
I agree Bailey didn't do much with her championship rain.
It didn't do business which is why they just did one
if Liv wins at Bad Blood, and they do like a Raquel Return, could set up Liv vs Raq, vs Rhea or even just Rhea vs Raquel, also SS should be brand vs brand and they could do Champ vs Champ match for women, do like Nia vs Rhea, that would FEEEEED
I dont think anyone can deny Liv and Rhea are the two top women on raw and maybe even in the entire wwe right now. I love what Rhea and Liv are doing but what do you do if rhea wins back the title besides Liv and maybe Bianca no ones taking title off rhea if she wins it back.
I love your videos, the way you break things down is great !
Thanks so much!
The honest problem with WWE is now the run time. It's not long enough to support all the talent. So they cut people to keep storylines going and focus almost the entire show to the main storyline.
Women's midcard titles only make sense if they are treated with time for storylines to breathe
Ivy Nile vs Maxine inside HIAC, book it at Survivor Series or Chelsea Green vs Michin inside HIAC, book it................
Rhea Ripley (⚖️) vs EST.Bianca (💪🏾)🏆 at Summer Slams while hopefully Rhea scouts Vaquer and Valkyria (V&V) to "Hold Down," Jade Cargill (💪🏾)🏆!!
Great vid.
What I'd like to see is WWE going back to branded PLEs, alongside the women getting an Intercontinental and United States titles
Women need mid card titles and either another tag team belt for raw or nxt
one of the biggest problem with wwe's women's division right now is the alignment system when it comes to both raw & smackdown women's rosters because on the raw women's roster there's a lack of credible heel opponents while on the smackdown women's roster other than bayley & naomi there's a lack credible babyface opponents which why i think rhea hasn't won the title from liv yet because she's not going to have any credible heels to defend her title against as of now i know raquel just returned but we have to see what actually happens with her & as for smackdown other than bayley & naomi they're the only credible babyfaces in the women's main title scene as of now against nia jax but obviously the main story is tiffany stratton being set up cash in her mitb on & the title from nia leading to a babyface turn will it help the smackdown women's roster babyface woes reminds to seen
Ngl id be okay if they had female tag champions per show to give each tag teams of the division each show time to shine and look big.
Once Becky and Charlotte come back everything is going to revolve around them anyway.
they need a mid card belt fr fr they have good talent they cant all shine with the main title would be great to see more of them with gold
A women’s mid card belt can be GREAT if MANAGED correctly, not book d but managed
Facts, there needs to be feuds without titles
