Some people give these things to their kids cuz no one's going to steal it and it's not going to break not easily at least. I've never done any destructive testing on these things but if the rumours are true I don't think a kid is going to get a sledgehammer and try and break their phone with it

Thanks for the video and MP3 files ... I've edited the MP3 files to turn them into ringtones that work on a modern Android phone (normalised, reduced noise, looping, ...) I wonder if you could also upload the message tones and other alarm tones? Happy to make a complete set.

Mario Acevedo Hi Mario, I've uploaded the files to app.box.com/s/mt37ogojt8g58uiabgwa65bhuvwuz2ur The .ogg files have the ANDROID_LOOP=true property; they work well as ringtones. the MP3 files and files with "no_loop" in the name don't have this property; they are better for calender reminders and SMS tones and general notification tones. I hope this helps some people.
I'm from South Africa...different countries may have had different ringtone sets or firmware...sometimes the network operator even had their own firmwares...thats probably why you're not seeing your favourite ringtone.
