  • Just a short animation of a large azdarchid (perhaps Quetzalcoatlus) and a juvenile Triceratops. All sound design homemade, by me! Just for a bit of fun.

These animals were around for millions of years. It is mathematically and statistically impossible this didn't happen at least once.

Yup, and considering all the videos out there of pets, not wild animals mind you, just the pets, doing crazy things by acting their own, makes me think that all sorts of insanity happened back then. Like the monkey that pulls on a dog's tale. I'm sure some brave raptor yanked on a Rex tail as it slept. Or how a rhino woke up the dog. Maybe some hadrosaur stomped around just for shits and giggles. Animals play, and a good number of the play, they have fun with it, and like the crow, repeated the activity. Dinos would have been no different! An Allosaur sitting with a baby stegosaur, or a couple of pteranodons pestering a poor ankylosaur.. Yeah.. These things happened, surely.

We always get shown the most stereotypical behavior in most media portraying dinosaurs, 90% consisting of fights between them- But I do love the more common- even silly- interactions we often get to see in our own ecosystems being translated into the paleo fauna portrayals. Silly mating rituals, different species curiously interacting with others, playing between infants... We deffo need more of that.

I had a border collie who went blind in the last few years of his life and he struggled to figure out what was and wasn’t food. His solution to that problem was to assume everything was edible until proven otherwise.
So he’d walk up to you, unhinge his jaw and swallow your entire hand; then gum around (he didn’t have many teeth left at this stage) and spit it out when he figured out you weren’t holding treats.
He was my favorite little Dumbass and he absolutely would have tried to eat a triceratops if I let him. I miss him so much.

    • @danielcorpuz1873

Azhdarchid beaks aren't capable of stabbing through thick scales and flesh of ceratopsians. Their head are air-filled so that it will not be topple over, this means they can't withstand the trauma or recoil of stabbing a large prey. They're more like marabou storks grabbing small prey to swallow them rather than vultures or eagles that tear chunks of flesh
