  • Two pterodactyloid pterosaurs (maybe Mimodactylus) play along a forested clifftop during the late Cretaceous.
    Sounds mostly recorded by me, but additional sound effects thanks to Pixabay.com and iNaturalist!

    The best way to make prehistoric animals seem more alive is to depict them behaving like regular animals.

    I love the depiction of the pterosaurs having weird almost random actions and movements, like real animals just messing around for the sake of it. Great animation as always.

    My favorite part is how the other pterasaur didnt really do anything to help himself, juat AAAAAAAA until his buddy stepped off his face haha

    I love them so much… they’re so silly… I love all their vocalizations and beak-claps
    They’re birdish but still very unique in the way they move, they feel so lifelike…. aaaaaaaaaaaa

    This is SOO gorgeous! Extremely fluid animation, beautiful sunset art, sound design! Must have taken a lot of work, but it was absolutely worth it

    This is absolutely beautiful and somewhat comedic seeing the pterosaurs messing around. Did you use slowed down Sandhill crane calls?

      Thank you! Yeah, used sandhill cranes for the calls. Also the angry hissing sound I used is from an owl.

      @@cenospire oh cool! I recorded some cranes near my house one time and slowed down the audio. It sounded just like a pterosaur!
