To be honest, why I love your videos is that they are natural. There isn't fake enthusiasm that 90% of IRL RUclipsrs have, and if there is enthusiasm, I know it's genuine. This is real banter, no made up skits or talk points, no jumping around like clowns and making unnecessary comments or changing speech patterns. And in the end of the day, I see you as a common man doing things he loves, not these posh millionaires throwing around status symbols like expensive cars or houses. I ain't saying being rich is bad, but being humble in your wealth shows character. Cheers !
The question of "where did you learn it from" If you work in agriculture especially if its a family thing you find that your learn many things on the hoof by necessity. You also develop extremely cunning and effective bodging skills. Anything to not pay another man when you can fuck it up yourself.
This tracks so much. Been a cityboy all my life. But dad grew up on a farm. And his father was also a blacksmith, so he lived in an environment where everything down to door hinges could be homemade. Sure did affect how I approach things.
I grew up on a farm - I can fix things, but not as well as my Dad! Wish to this day I’d taken more of an active interest in that said of things than I did: instead, I just decided I disliked farming, and switched off. Still, the approach of fixing stuff is ingrained in me, and I’m getting better at it, aged 50!
Great stuff. I am really surprised that Mr. Hewes is not educated at a university. A man who has both intelligence and humility. One of the best channels on RUclips. I have no idea about mechanics and engineering but I have learned so much from all of you.
The reasons why we, as a community watch your videos are for two reasons: you all are frank, humble, and just nice to watch on RUclips. I would 100% watch this channel instead of another one that has millions of subscribers, or is more popular for whatever the latest trend or thing to have/do is.
Truly admirable to hear Joe state his love for what he does is his prime motivation, as opposed to financial gain, and the trappings of life most people fall for. I imagine the majority go to the grave with their priorities back to front. So it’s heartwarming to hear someone from Joe’s generation reject the prevailing narrative. And the humour! Where would we be without our inimitable and blessed British humour! Salt of the earth guys & gals. My favourite channel to date.
Mr Hewes it’s lovely to see your protectiveness over your family’s and friends desire to be or not be on camera, it’s also good to see your intention to just carry on as your going, 1 idea for a design would be to put a technical diagram or exploded design of a chieftain or challenger on the front or back or both. Keep up the very entertaining and funny channel, heavy metal, heavy humour, heavy innuendo and ted take care guys.
I second this. I really enjoy technical drawings and exploded diagrams, and think it would be a grand idea for a silkscreened T-shirt or hoodie. I'm in the States so a Sherman would be a natural choice for me, but anything technical really would be great.
Reminds me of my time as a underground fitter at Newstead colliery great banter between you all plenty big hammers technical at times , I'm 74 now great to see younguns getting stuck in oil water mud and really enjoying what you do , great to see you bringing stuff back to life .
Really like the channel. I’m a retired soldier, with an interest in AFV, constantly amazed with the knowledge that you have accrued and those vehicles deserve to be preserved.
So refreshing to see young people who work hard, don't mind getting cold and dirty, and don't claim the new " bad back", the omnipresent mental health issues. Or one of the many "isms" that have become mainstream for excusing plain bad behaviour or idleness. Great channel, great guys, my respect :) Regards to Ted, I am a big dog lover and he looks a real character. Long may he supervise proceedings! Happy Easter.
After a lifetime around heavy equipment and vehicles the fact people want to come and help is as terrifying as it is supportive, Only takes the smallest mistake to turn deadly.
Being born and brought up on a farm is the best start in life one can have! It's a way better education than what you'd ever get from wasting one's life going to school and uni! Plus one gets to drive huge off-road vehicles that do a multitude of things at a very early age!...for me....those were the Fordson major and Nuffield tractors....and a Zetor just like the one by the apc that those brambles didn't want to part with a couple of weeks back...that Zetor was a blessing....a cabbed tractor meant one didn't get covered in manure while spreading that lovely country smelling stuff on the fields with an open top wooden rear fling trailer!😂

You quickly became one of my favourite RUclips creators. Some great personalities there lads. In other news, I’m late to this video because I’ve just been to pick up an ex MOD ‘86 110 Defender. Already love it, even though I’ve just sat at 50MPH for 2 hours on the M1!
Great vid, i really enjoyed it, what a lovely piece about the young ladies, and how sensitive they are, or could be... i felt that was a real nice and well put together few words, and yes, there are some pretty weird guys out on their keyboards

Churchill Tank is my favorite tank, was a great workhorse and it was the first tank I as a kid I could reliably identify, seeing you guys restore a Churchill or the museum's black prince would be incredible
What an awesome vid, I've got loads of questions about some of those questions lol but so glad so hear those answers. You guys - and the rest of the team seem so down to earth I'd gladly sit on a night out listening to all your stories! Hopefully you'll do another one of these again! This was a really cool vid, it’s great to know a bit more of your history, and your motivations. The thing I admire about you guys is the simple honesty. Keep up the good work.

Been watching you guys working hard and titting about, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I do understand what you mean about that sense of achievement. To me it is more than just mend something, it is about the vehicle's value, story, history, and future that you manage to bring back so they shall not rust away and be left in vain. Also I love Thatchers Gold, cheers lads.
You guys are so honest and genuine, you feel like old friends. I’m sure a lot of your viewers feel the same way. You guys make great videos. Always interesting, no bullshit drama and nonsense for views, no distractions from what the project is all about. It's like a DIY learning channel where the 'hosts' are also learning, except instead of carving some wood, squishing some mud into a pot, or melting some metal shelves together it's fixing and restoring really big death machines. Throw the ball again, I have a ball here, hey, throw the ball.
Thanks for the video chaps!! I am in the process of restoring an old car so I understand a little bit of what you go through. I think bringing these metal beasts back to life.is a labour of love and not for those looking to make money. This channel is a great look into the British psyche. Good luck with the work on all of the projects and with the channel.

I would buy that.
I can't stop laughing at the fact the split screen for Jack is so small. You done him dirty haha.

Thanks for being so down to earth and such genuine people that all of your 200K+ viewers, like you so much. Stay as you are and may you and the crew remain friends 'til the end. Big shout out to Jack & Fiancée all the best for May 5th I think it was, too.
Really enjoyed the conversations and the content as it will add depth to everyone on, and off, screen. Thanks for all of the team’s efforts to make these moments possible.
Nice to meet ya. That was fun to watch n listen to. Thanks for the videos.
Great episode! Love to watch and listen to Jack. I have said it before, and I will say it again, nothing fits better in the American ear than the British accent.
Great show guys! Breath of fresh air! Lots of luck! Look forward to future installments! Good show old Bean! On marriage, I was incomplete, got married now I'm finished! HoHoHo!!!

Long may it last take care stay safe and keep it up
And well down peebs
Best video so far this you! Great! Keep up the good work, great to find out a but more about you and the teams background.
As an ex 3 and 5 RTR member I love watching your vids, they are so entertaining and they bring back great memorys. Keep them coming.
I get the jump from agricultural engineering to mod engineering. Its great that its young people doing it. You make it fun to watch. Still waiting for you to go to the pub in a tank. Just to see people's faces. Thanks.
The 'rawness' of the vids is one of the things I love about this channel. It's spontanious and unscripted. Bril, keep it going!. Nuff said!. 🙂
Smashing video, from 2 guys who are actually very humble, keep it up lads.
