- In 1964, the Joy-Tones were Margaret Moore, Vickie Burgess, and Lynn Middleton. These girls had been around since the mid-fifties, and had several records opn Rama. Alvin Stewart and Tony Middleton came up with this song, and the girls turned it into a moderate hit. Pookie loves this song, and it's still fresh and melodic today. Lynn went on to sing with the Harptones in the 80's and 90's, but sadly passed in about 93. Margaret is also gone. Vickie took over for Lynn (Sugah Greer) in the Harptones, and at that point Pookie lost track of the lone surviving member of the Joy-Tones. Enjoy!!

This song came out in 1964. Both of my Parents dated then before marrying in 65. Sadly my father passed in June 2013 my mom in January 2018. This song reminds me of them both in an innocent era. Now I can relive those yrs before I was born in 67.
Some say you aren’t truly a man until you lose your parents. I honestly can’t imagine what it would be like without them, it’d be painfully empty. I was born in 2001 and am already 19...everything went by so fast. Best wishes from Florida ✌️

"This Love" is up there with it and would have gone unnoticed by me if it had not been used in a beer commercial. You have excellent taste in music, keep listening and keep enjoying.

From the very intro the song had me hooked. The Joy-Tones knew what they were good at and used their skills. The lead singer handles the leads very well. Plus, she knows how to harmonize with her backup singers. They don't compete, they complement. It's entertaining to wait to hear what they are going to amaze us with next!
