Perhaps the coreographers were trying to make the final guy's fight more suspenseful. But they seem to've completely forgotten how they've portrayed reacher's fights up until then. He runs through a gang of prison lifers with shanks, foreign ex special forces and trained assassins and the guy who almost kills him in an one on one fight is the featherweight hilbilly kid with a crowbar?
Yes, indeed, big disappointment and totally implausible.
That is what pissed me off too.
I hated that so much..
Yes i spotted a few moments like this but overall was a pretty good serues
Yes, I noticed the discrepancy between Reacher's earlier fights with heavy weights and this one with a crowbar armed flyweight. Reacher must have been weak post Covid infection.
Story has it, the crowbar is still feeling the impact from his face
I am Chuck Norris and I approve of your comment...
@@martinroncetti4134 Mr. Norris, I'm a huge fan! You should do a movie with Bruce Willis
It took melee damage on contact...

So for those wondering what happens in the book: the scrawny dude with the crowbar isn't there and it's the Kliner kid with 4 other guys. Reacher ninjas the 4 guys with almost no issues but misses his shot on the Kliner kid because of the rain. They struggle and the Kliner kid misses a couple shots before Reacher throws him into the pool.
Then Reacher jumps on top of him and almost rips his head off choking him under water.
So there was a bit of a struggle but he doesn't get fucked up by a 5'6" 120 pound dude with a crowbar like he does here. A little bit of artificial drama for sure but it doesn't ruin the scene for me. The rest of it is so accurate to how it's portrayed in the book, it's fantastic.
I never read the books so I'm wondering if reacher is jacked like this version? This version is literally the opposite of Tom Cruise who is like 5'3'' 150lbs.
@@dontcare7086 In the books Reacher is 6'5 250 pounds
I was gonna say, a little dude like that couldn't handle a guy as big as reacher unless that crowbar has special powers. 😁
@Dont Care Yes, Reacher is very known for his size from the books. He's a big dude. The Reacher actor is 'only' 6ft 2, so I guess they do alot of camera angels to make him look as big as 6ft 5.
It was odd seeing the tiny guy get the better of Reacher but they did stage the fight in a way that made it somewhat believable, a small guy with a crowbar still hits harder than a big guy with his fists. The little guy had the initiative and kept at it until Reacher was down, it’s not like they were trading blows. The most unrealistic part was actually the fact that Reacher wasn’t way more f’d up afterwards when he was taking his shower. He should have had massive bruising all over.
Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought the tangle with Dawson was drawn out unrealistically. Reacher would have owned him in “less than 10 seconds”. It really killed the drama in the whole sequence. I know they probably feel they don’t want the “hero” always winning too easily for TV drama but sorry, you chose to adapt this character and he is, what he is. Just write better opponents that it seams feasible they would test him, whether through guile or strength. You can’t have him take out three ex-military as easy as breathing and then struggle with the scrawny “Nephew”.
But give a smaller man a weapon he will level the playing field in a fight thats why it took longer
@@joshpluck8299 That would have played out well if they even showed the pry bar shots fazing Reacher, but he just seemed to block them without showing it was hurting him. But in a show that wants to have a good fight each episode they need the main guy to have that awesome plot shield to serious injury...lol..l sleep funny and can have a bad back and poor movement for two days. If I was in TV, I can be in a serious car wreck, hit metal rungs on my way to a dumpster in a 3 story fall, get a serious beating and be ready to go with a cute little cut lip or eyebrow bandage for the final showdown. Hell by next week I wont have a mark on me and my ribs are just fine...lol
Completely agree, it made absolutely no sense. He kills three ex special forces guy barely breaking a sweat, then gets to the skinny 120 lb nephew with no military background and he gets his ass kicked. Realistically this fight should have taken maybe 10 seconds, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt because Reacher is winded at this point, so we’ll stretch it to 20 seconds lol
yes. but it was some idiot who thought: rambo.
let show our boy getting his ass kicked, and then.... retribution feels so good.
this is a trope we see in many movies of this sort.
frankly, considering he was blocking a crow bar with his arms, one would expect broken bones.
so, trope b.s.
It is very realistic.
Every fight scene needs someone on set prepared to say 'Hang on.. we crossed the line into ridiculousness'.
Right? JR is now and officially crowbar proof. Makes for good Hollywood silliness, though.
@@RobnPhx1 i mean if your that big and you know hey if i lose im dead a bit of adrenaline and the choice of life over limb ill take some shots to the arms
@@ragnarokhd8775 He got smashed in the side of the head full force. I don't think anyone here is critiquing the body shots, those are fully survivable.
Also silly is firing a semi-auto three times underwater. It will fire once, then fail to cycle/reload.
There's no such thing as "not believable" in these films. They figure the typical audience will accept any fantasy, no matter how ludicrous, if it advances the video game sensibility. This scene in particular is outrageously non-credible. The fact that this massive human machine Reacher is being wailed on by a much smaller guy who has a crowbar is the first illogical premise. After destroying others with ease, Reacher is supposed to be victimized by this one bad guy before finally recovering underwater, without having sucked in enough pool water to fill his lungs, and manages to retrieve a pistol and shoot the baddie. Well, at least it isn't that deplorable Scientology promoter Tom Cruise again.
As much as I love it, there are a few blows where it’s game over. The crowbar swipe to the face, you’re talking smashed skull or at least a broken jawbone. There are a few gripes like that, but it’s better than most action films out there.
Also, his wrists/forearms should be broken messes with how many times he blocked those strikes with them.
And he could have just picked up a gun. Dumb fight scene.
The Reacher in the books would have stepped in close, blocked the arm, during the swing, the crowbar never would have touched him.
Even if a crowbar blow doesn't break bone, the shock to your brain is crippling. Some guys are built tough, but this crosses into super-hero territory.
the good guy has to win.. what movie doesn't stretch the truth?
Hit 16 times in the face with a steel crowbar and still carries on like he's been slaped with a pillow...ok
Its a metal bar, you block it with your arm and your arm is broken, you block it with your head and you are dead.
He tanked too many crowbar hits, is he on angel-dust drug, muscle armor, or plot armor?
Directors don't know the life they think they know how fights go but hey there movie guys they don't care as long as there's [money]
@@derekaarts4997 I strongly doubt that, only if the guy swinging it is vey strong.
most of what you're counting actually hit his forearms.
Every show has that one "big moment" that really defines the show. (example: The Mountain's trial in GoT). This scene was supposed to be it. We see these 4 guys absolutely torture multiple families throughout the season and you're thinking 'I can't wait for Reacher to take them out'. The moment comes and starts off so well, some quick brutal kills and when you're expecting the best kill to be last, they make it a dramatic drawn out fight where the hero narrowly escapes. It completely ruined the moment and destroyed what Reacher was about. That first swing of the crowbar, Reacher would have closed the gap and headbutted him in fact this doesn't even happen in the book. A real missed opportunity for that big moment.
I totally agree, I expected a brutal and very painful elimination of these bastards, but all I got was a quick murder - they were in pain for a short time.
You mean, Tyrion's trial by combat where he crushes Oberyn's skull with his bare hands?
@@TheAceTroubleshooter Yes, the scene that you are currently remembering because it was one of GoT's biggest scenes. Point proven my guy.

No way Reacher is hit so many times with a crow bar. His skills don't let it happen.
Yeah I don’t understand that
Needs to be dramatic
@@ianbrewer4843 This is typical Hollywood formula-think. Very disappointing coming from the same production that showed Reacher thinking about the situation at the beginning of the first show. You can dramatize ANYTHING. This was just weak and undercut the believability of the show.

If they made the bald guy more intimidating in size it would make sense
@@johnhenry4844 The striker being more intimidating in size makes Reacher surviving strikes with a crowbar more sensible? Reacher's essence as a fighter is knowing solutions to problems because of his experience and training. The fights in this movie were choreographed, at least in some instances, by someone who doesn't understand the character.
As someone who has read every Reacher book multiple times this scene was my only real problem with the whole season.
Especially when this scene is done so brilliantly in the book. Could have shot it scene for scene and it would have been perfect.
The whole point of Reacher is that he can easily dispatch multiple opponents with barely a scratch as was shown in the earlier episodes. This scrawny guy should have been a 2 second job not able to charge Reacher through a window. He should have run into Reacher and bounced off of him like he hit a brick wall.
I was glad they didn’t do a long drawn out fight with KJ at the end, that would have ruined the ending, especially when the book ends with half a dozen gun shots.
I promise that no one cares that you, or anyone else, read the books. Watch the show or don't watch it. All you people do is bitch, bitch, bitch.
I for one like this deviation. Just because a man is smaller doesn't mean he's not a serious threat. The man also had a weapon, which usually gives any man an immediate advantage regardless of size and build.
@@valdie91285 oh no!....does someone have an opinion different to yours!....or is it the fact someone can actually read books that makes you angry?.
If you're going to make a show based on a series of books then adapt the properly or not at all, I mean ffs Reacher is supposed to be 6ft 6, over 200lbs and be highly trained so there really is no way this fight lasts this long.
@@Loverboy207 it really doesn't.
@@ajc1482 Even trained fighters say the best thing to do if the other guy has a weapon is to run.
Reacher struggling in a fight shouldn't be a big deal. It adds gravity and tension to the fight. Not to mention it also let's us know the nephew is a much better and dangerous fighter than he let's on. Reacher is not your power fantasy; he's a man of excellent skill going against some very dangerous people.
Glad to see he's not a Steven Segal 'never get touched' type badass, but most of those crowbar strikes to the arm would have shattered his bones.
Llh
I noticed that too.
The Crowbar no doubt was made in China, Reacher was of French Resistance and American Military forged into a massive man. No Chinese manufactured Crowbar is going to take down any person from that gene pool. Moral: If the tool is made in China do not Reach er you’ll be sorry.
@@skapsha So, what you are saying is, Reacher is this generation's Chuck Norris?
@@skapsha It's a Harbor Freight crowbar.
This was the most unbelievable fight of the show. Reacher puts that guy through a table with a vase on it and he doesn't even notice, comes back with an instant swing of a crowbar that has enough force behind it to knock Reacher back?! Please. Otherwise great scene.
the WHOLE scene was great
@Lacastrian de Lioncourt yeah
I was actually rooting for the bad guy in that fight. I mean he was doing everything humanly possible. It's not like he didn't do enough to kill half a dozen non-fictional people. It's the reason I've never watched an entire episode of this show, just the shortest out takes possible on YT.

Maybe I'm not comprehending you but what you just made no sense to me.
Crow bar wins this one.
No way knife with like 3-4 kills.
Crowbar not even on the board 😂😂
Okay, my biggest gripe I have with this show is Reacher being able to take out a golden glove boxer at a bar, a ton of inmates at a prison, what seems like dozens of fully armed Venezuelans who are trained and yet he somehow struggles and almost dies against a 120lb Dawson Kliner who he got the jump on. Is there some back story in the book that supports this? If not, then it seems inconsistent and weird that a 6'5'' 250lb Tank gets nerfed and clobbered by some scrawny shrimp with a crowbar(also, the crowbar would've broken his bones). Reacher also seems to struggle against KJ and then kills him anticlimactically. Like, he got the jump on him several times but couldn't shoot straight when he demonstrated he could shoot just fine earlier in the series? Whoever directed these fights needs to be educated on tropes, physics, choreography, or just plain fired for being ignorant and incompetent.
In the book, he takes out the 4 other guys and chokes this guy so hard that his neck looks like a used toothpaste tube
In the book. The Kliner kid is also just as bug and burly as reacher. Reacher only wins so easily by starting the fight with a preemptive strike and knocking the kliner kid into the pool
Worst scene in the series
Uh, mate....that crowbar wouldn't have just "broken bones", it would have killed him
My biggest gripe is when a bad guy standing out in the open and Reacher misses him with his gun. Reminds me of the shootout scenes with Steven Seagal.
Who knew the human body could resist an iron bar without the skull collapsing or arm bones breaking - amazing
Who knew that twig couple swing that iron bar around like as if it was made out of some other material.
Even more amazing is the fact that Reacher picks his fights in gun-free zones. Where I come from, Reacher would last thirty seconds.
@@usernamunavailiable wtf are you talking about it is not hard to swing a crowbar.. there is no world where you get hit by 10 full swings of a crowbar and aren't broken or dead
If he can get hit that hard, those places, so often with a crowbar with no affect, he does not need a gun. And as many said, totally inconsistent with his previous skills
Technically, he lost. In reality, the hit to the head, would've killed him.
several times
@@danielguth5777
I mean you could also make the case that a giant mega fighter like reacher got thrown around by a little bald man with a crowbar is dumb as well.
The story is the story
Ya. Crowbars have a way of crushing anything like bones. Every hit would have been near fatal but to the head would have splintered his skull.
Inexcusable bullshit from whoever wrote this, who should be removed from the series STAT, preferably with a crow bar.
not if he's a hard head
Reacher has never been hit that many times, ever.
We got a great book series, lets pander to the lowest common denominator and Hollywood the hell out of it.
Great series, not discrediting it in the slightest but this scene was probably my least favourite moment in the show. Very frustrating how he could've wiped the floor with that guy but because he was one of the villains and had backstory he can kick reachers ass.
How many fucking times do we have to watch the "hero reaches for a thing to save him but cant quite grab it" trope before it goes away?

He easily took that same guy down during the fight in the diner.
@@H.K.5 my thoughts exactly. It was the same guy. In the diner he was even fighting 3 guys at once

Love the underwater sequence. The drums and the lightning flashes. Great scene.
Before this scene was filmed, Christopher Walken was on set yelling "I need more crow bar!". I guess he got it.
Now I get it. When he was in the pool and trying to grab that gun… Reacher! It all makes sense now
Underrated comment
The other fight scenes in this show do a great job of adding more drama by having Reacher get hit in logical ways and showing how those hits hurt him but this scene just breaks the rules of the show never mind the books. I don’t exactly understand what they were thinking here.
I agree. For a show that's meticulous about tiny details like the wounds Reacher carries across episodes, this fight seems like a gross oversight.

Fact. And that Lee Child supervised this makes me think hes gone slighty senile.
I loved the line later on about the house cleaner going to have a bad time, as well as the pool cleaner.
Maybe he would have been able to get one round off with desert eagle but the crow bar to the head would have killed him before that

I've seen the two movies, read almost all the books, and watched all the TV scenes I can on RUclips. You know he's not going to die, but when he hit the pool, bleeding and unconscious...man. It looked REAL bad for Reacher until he found his gun.
I get the need for drama, but he could/should have taken that crowbar away in the 1st 10 seconds.
So many times we see heroes easily defeat one goon after another, then seemingly lose their super powers.
I don't get the need for drama. I think that's one of the reasons why the books are so successful. Reacher is ruthlessly efficient and we love it.
He suddenly loses all his skills while fighting "plot important" guy 😄
There's no fucking way that guy is using his arms after blocking a crowbar once let alone how many times he got hit, I don't care if he's wearing titanium bracers. Plus you'd be dead getting hit in the face with one. The writer is on fucking druuuuugs
You read the books? Read it first.
@@realdrian9k
As TheStoicgrimace wrote "the writer is on drugs": getting hit full-on in the head with swing from a crowbar would at minimum be instant KO, if not dead.
Oh. You thought he meant the screenwriter. HA HA HA
He would also be deaf. That desert eagle popping off right next to ear would for sure burst his ear drum.
reacher is a mary sue in the books, even more so than in the series, but its what makes it fun, seeing elaborate ways he bullshits his way to win every time
He just Jack fucking Reacher he's got the strength of three grown men he's tough as nails and recovers quickly didn't you hear in the beginning when they were reading his credentials and when he was in the Army he saved 12 people from a burning building and suffered from smoke and his lungs but 30 hours later he was back out in the field and they couldn't understand how he was able to do it because he's Jack fucking Reacher
After having good writing the whole season, this really came out of left field. It’s like the creatives all collectively turned their brains off
Good writing as in he's invincible and beats every opponent taking the tension out of every scene? Dudes a real Gary Sue at least this made him less of one. He's the smartest character and the toughest to the point where he can beat up like 5 guys at once who have knives while he has nothing. This is a show where u are supposed to turn off your brain. It's unapologetically macho unrealistic bullshit and it's fun but stupid as hell.
Now to the hospital for a shattered skull, brain damage, multiple fractures of the forearms and ribs. Other than that...a damn good show!! Reacher would give Wolverine a good run!
I am glad that so many people found this sequnce unrealistic.. the action choreographer should have stuck with the book... The climax fight in the pool especially was about Reacher putting his brute strength to good use ...
Whats funny is that scrawny guy who almost killed Reacher was also present in the restaurant with KJ and Reacher whooped his ass very easily in that scene yet in this scene he’s almost on parr with Reacher. Got to love these sudden jumps in skill levels
Ridiculous then take into account his age and each hitman was supposed to have years of advanced military training. Where did dawson get any training? He had none and as you say worse part is he embarrassed him earlier in the season in the cafe showing reacher had far more advanced abilitys. Total f up on the director and producers part.

Which one? Because you could honestly say that about both Dawson and Reacher in this scene…
In one book, reacher actually said that the only guys he was scared of was the small, wirey ones. I think this is a big improvement on the Tom cruise films but in the books the fights are over quickly without Reacher taking any damage. He came up against 2 opponents that offered any serious competition, one was a huge guy & one was highly trained. This scene is totally unrealistic.
Eh they're trying to showcase how terrifyingly strong he is . like.... the dude got a nail stuck in his head and shot in the chest with a .38. the explaination for his survival was a thick skull and muscle tissue so dense it acted like a kevlar vest. In short he's freakish big and freakish strong.
@@theo-jamesmoulton2000 And his nose broken once. But in the books he never got hit that many times and definitely not with a crowbar.
He'd be scared of Tom Cruise then lol
I searched for the shark in the pool at the end because they certainly jumped it...
"Getting hit repeatedly with a crowbar in the face is realistic. Let's include this in the scenario."
I was thinking the same thing. I don't care how big or badass you are, NO ONE gets up after a home-run swing with a crowbar...to the head.
Funny how Reacher owned that big dude in the bar in 1 second, but a scrawny ass kid knocked him flat out with a crowbar
I think I just watched two broken arms, a shattered jaw and a caved in skull... Walk it off Jack
The thing that bothered me about this scene was the fact that he took out all the professional killers easily, but the untrained, pipsqueak cousin of the rich kid was the toughest opponent. It's absurd. Superhuman bad guys in a non-superhero movie/show are ridiculous.
Also, he already beat him up during the diner fight.
Being in the home remodeling business and knowing how much a crowbar that size weighs it's no way anyone is going to take a strike like that and not be imeaditly heading to the promise land lol😂
That was a California crowbar. According to California law, steel crowbars are illegal. They have to be made outta rubber. Same thing with hammers. Nails are biodegradable so as not to harm the planet.
Book version of the last scene was perfect, this one is ridiculous.
He could have taken that bar several times, instead he received several deadly blows.
If the firing pin strikes the primer with enough force, yes it will fire. Being one of the few gas operated pistols it may overpressure parts of the gun. The Deagle is robust so only damage may be to gas seals. Bottom line, it may well fire, likely only once. Probably won't cycle the slide fully if at all.
My biggest problem is Reacher carrying a Deagle in the first place. If he wants a large frame autoloader then carry a USP 45. Someone with Reacher's training and experience would never carry a Desert Eagle.
Definitely.
The Deagle is too flashy and also doesn’t carry enough ammo.
There’s a .45 called the ParaOrdinance P14, which holds 14 rounds instead of the traditional 7.
In the book it's all he can get a hold of. He doesn't like it but it's what he's got.
@@Jakey46g Yeah I haven't seen the episode yet and was hoping they had a reason storywise for him to have the DE and not because someone on set thought it would be "cooler".

I only ever caught two situations where the show turned me off 1) once jack said "a silencer makes the gun less accurate at close range" and 2) when he walked into the room with Finley being held at gunpoint near the end they woulda just shot him right there but that's all I noticed which is rly impressive. 9.5/10 tv show would recommend.
He said “even at close range”
If you don't have raised sights or a red dot, a suppressor on a standard pistol becomes a point-and-shoot affair. It'll block standard sights. Perhaps that's what he meant.
The added weight at the barrel can make follow up shots less accurate
Lee Child is a great author, but like many writers he screws up when he starts describing guns...smh..& especially since he's British, he didn't grow up around them & often writes widely inaccurate things about firearms...
Suppressors do affect accuracy.
even if this show did everything people are suggesting, they’d still find something to complain about
That’s modern audiences my friend. They have know clue what they want yet somehow expect the filmmakers to. I don’t understand.
Probably the same pinheads that complain about Boba Fett every week.
I watched it in one sitting. It was awesome. Who is complaining and why?
Agreed
And other people will come and defend millionaire creators and actors like their lives depended on it
I never understood this phenomenon. If I pay some money to buy a pair of shoes, wasn't happy and criticized them, will people whine and cry about it? Then if paying customers complain about a show, why do some people take it personally?
What's the logic behind it? Are they so lonely, they confuse a show and actors for family and friends whom they need to defend personally from any criticism?
gotta call major bs on this. 2 shattered arms and a broken skull + anyone would use the hook end to puncture the skull
The Crow Bar physics have been adjusted in this scene.
Those must be China made dense foam crow bars.
The whole point of book Reacher fight scenes is that a single blow to the head has a 90% chance of basically taking you out of commission for the entire fight. Stupid scene.
Everyone keeps saying 'scrawny hillbilly kid'
The guy is a serial killer with dozens of bodies stacked up. Reacher beats him in a fight sure, but the guy is dangerous especially when armed.
Dozens of full power hits to the head, torso and forearms with a freaking CROWBAR ????
What next, a five foot tall girl in a ballgown and high heels beating the living crap out of a room full of muscular bodyguards oh yes there we go.............
Jack reachers plot armor was so thick that not even a crowbar could slow him down.
I’ll give you one, maybe two.
But as many times as he just forearm checked a crowbar, from his elbow to his wrist would be completely done.
It's videos like this that get me to buy an entire series. I always miss the important episodes if I try to watch it when it comes on the network.
In this scene, Reacher takes more hits than in the entire series of the books - from a smaller guy, armed with only a crowbar!
Doubt which is actually closer to reality: the books or this scene.
(I'll skip the bit about a semi-auto pistol firing underwater...)
Are you counting the time he got shot and the bullet basically bounced off him?
Did you read the persuader he had a very close call against Paulie or make me against hackett and dont forget what he did to him at the restaurant if it would have been mano y mano reacher would have beat up him up Nice and a crossbar is a bitch to duck even for reacher this is a tv show vert different tension when your reading the book you need to be nervous a little bit for reacher otherwise theres no tension i think now that the first season is over there will be progression in season 2 etc. They did a very good job with the first book and this Guy is reacher way better than cruise.
@@JamesDavis-vm9gw I was counting the number of times that crowbar actually hit him.
As for that .38 bullet, Reacher was wearing, for him, natural body armour. Let me quote the doctor:
"The damn bullet didn't even make it *into* your chest. Your pectoral muscle is so thick and so dense it stopped it dead. It popped out the other side of the muscle wall and smashed a rib, but it went no farther".
Just shows what digging swimming pools by hand in Key West can do for a man's physique.
@@paulfienga9466 to your point I would always think cruise is about to get his ass kicked. With this Reacher I just think he’s going to kill everyone.
@@bcm3938 prety much
So officially this dude is stronger then Vam Dame. I thought no one could withstand that much hits like Van Dame does but this dude is something else.
Calling these guys assassins is a stretch, but if Reacher can fight on with every bone in his upper body broken from crow bar strikes, what the hell, lets roll with it.
Hahahaha
Totally unrealistic final opponent. Dude was OP for sure.
Only in Hollywood would forearms be able to check a crowbar lol
😂😂😂
Plot armor is strong.
What's next using a wedding ring to check a sword
@@wadekilian3139 "It's tungsten bro..." lol
Yea idk. I think they think richtson really is aquamarine still
One thing about this fight scene that IS good is the sound design. The weather announcement about storms in the background of the fight added a cool ambience.
Read all the books. This new series is great. They got the perfect guy to play reacher this time.
Anyone who has ever held or used a crowbar will know that if you hit someone in the face with it like Reacher was at minute mark 2:33, they won't have a face. That's why the tiny welterweight guy kicks the character's butt, because weapons matter!
I honestly thought jack was about to cena slam dude on the back of the pick up right here😂😂😂 0:30
I love how the second guy pulls up his leg to assist being dumped into the trucks bed.
This last part was a lot to ask of the viewing audience. Actually, it's virtually impossible to believe as even remotely plausible.
i love how this show is bringing back the hulking behemoth of a man type of protagonist. its been tragically absent in movies and shows for far too long now
Having not read the novels and only watching the Cruise movies, I feel like the creators behind the series have either misunderstood or forgotten who & what kind of man Jack Reacher is.
One of the best things in the movies is that without taking things too far away from the reality, they managed to conjure up a portrait of a man, who is as vulnerable as any human but who just does not give others the opportunity to hurt him.
Now, he is supposed to be a guy, who blocks crowbars with his forearms and does not have a scratch in his jaw after getting whacked in the face with it.
Yeah but the movie's very inaccurately depict Reacher, Reacher in the book is 6,5 and like 250 Tom cruise is like 5,7 and 160, Reacher is supposed to be the guy to block a crowbar with his forearms which is something an actor like Tom cruise couldn't sell
@@thenakedmango6572 Crowbar to the face dude, crowbar to the face. Which do you think would be the bigger issue, height or having a steel bar smashed several times in your jaw, forehead, cheeks, torso and arms? I don't care about some height of the actor when the movies are one of the few movies produced in the States, which don't go full Mchael Bay and the characters actually get hurt, when in the series, the main protagonist can block 44 lbs steelbars with his arms and survives with tiny cut in his lip after several blows to the head with the same 44 lbs steelbar. The series seems to be wildly unrealistic, which the movies are not.
Beyond outstanding does not mean that your physics can defy laws of nature and that muscle and bone are harder than cold steel. It means that you simply don't give any opportunities for anyone to hit you with a crowbar (especially if their half of your size). You don't have to be 6 ft 5 and weigh 210 pounds to be able be beyond outstanding in all hand-to-hand cqc, and that the movies got right. Reacher in the novels and in the movies is just as vulnerable as any of us is. His body is a roadmap of pain - gunshot scars, torn open abdomen and stab wounds, shrapnel scars etc. But in the series crowbars for example don't seem to have an effect in human bodies.
❤🤍💙 you #JACK REACHER 1 Septillion times.
Alan Ritchson nailed it.
❤🤍💙 you #ALAN RITCHSON 1 Septillion times.
Who agrees that this Actor playing Reacher would be the PERFECT new Terminator X with James cameron directing ?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this was stupid. If that skinny guy got hit once by this monster of a man, it's lights out. And the part where he literally holds Reacher made me lol. Weight categories matter!
Everyone worrying that he couldn’t be beaten up by a dude with a crowbar when the real unbelievavility is being able to fire a gun more than once that quickly underwater
Well, at least one of the killers was competent in a fight. Although there is no way Reacher would have survived being smashed in the head with a crowbar like that. That blow would have killed anyone, I don't care how big or strong.
i love the way REACHER reacts to anyone out there especially to people including teenagers who thinks they can do anything they like
The scene with 4th guy was ridiculous. He was beaten by a countryside dwarf. I don't even mention the crowbar hits... Even in this kind of movie, it was just stupid. His arms would be in pieces.
Series*, it's episodic. A movie would be full length like Tom Cruise.
@@niklaskornaat259 but this doesn't make any difference ;)
@@jarek3573 no need to get smart about it he was just letting you know it was a show
The thing is with Reacher you already know how every hand to hand fight is going to play out. The best thing to do is to make it as awesome and clever as possible. I do believe the writers now know this so just think of the scene as a learning tool for them
Have you ever noticed how, in movies, when a fight happens during a rainy night...there is an ungodly frequency of lightning? Juuust enough to light up the scenes, all the way through.
I laid around last Sunday and watched the hole series it was great some off the wall but other wise best series in a long time
That’s ridiculous. Crowbar to the face multiple times on the elbow and finally the pistol under water? Bullets don’t travel with velocity in water. Maybe point blank it would still move enough to penetrate but if you ever seen a bullet under water they either break or just stop when they hit the surface. Go on any RUclips link that says bullets in water. For instance the scene in saving private Ryan where dude gets off the Higgins boat and gets shot being around 8 feet deep? Absolute Hollywood imagination. Water is almost the best body armor. If you wanna hurt someone under water, grenade. The water in that case is much more dangerous. Physics.
water isn't dirt buddy the best bullet stopper. (movie tremors) lol. bullets do not stop as soon as they hit water
it was a fracking desert eagle
As someone who's fired a gun underwater you're completely wrong, sure it will slow the velocity slightly but it definitely wouldn't break or stop a bullet as you seem to think, especially on fired from a large calibre pistol.
@@ajc1482 I don't know what your circumstances were, but even .50 rounds don't get very far underwater. That said, I think in this instance it might be possible that the rounds have enough energy to kill the guy because Jack is shooting up and back OUT of the water, so they the bullets might not be losing too much of their energy. However, what I find more unbelievable is that the gun is able to cycle multiple times while completely submerged. You might get one shot off if the round is already chambered and locked, but I doubt the slide can properly extract the empty shell casing and chamber the next round properly while underwater.
No, pistol bullets will travel through water, the .50 struggles because of it's high velocity. Myth busters testes this.
Glad to see I was not the only one to call out the malarkey of the crowbar fight, reacher should have been able to to take the things and use it against his assailant
Reacher is so well trained he can hold his breath even while unconscious. 🙄
Ele não tava inconsciente ele tava quase
Só zonzo
Binged this series twice already but still re-watch the action sequences if they pop on my YT feed
Don't care how badass you are, no one can take a hit from a crowbar and still be able to use your arms. It would be more believable if he avoided the hits or ran off and waited for an opportunity to attack again.
Dawson was Reacher's toughest battle
The “book” Reacher was an expert in brawling and defensive tactics. He would have finished off that guy in a matter of seconds. Far too many extended fight scenes in this series making Reacher look like he has few D.T. skills.
There was a time in my life that l wish ld had a Reacher..gotta love that man.
Blocking crow bar with arm you only do one time, for the next hit the arm will be broken, no matter how tough you might be.
I picture Reacher next day saying a Chris Farley line “ doesn’t hurt here or here but pretty much Right Here “ ( paraphrasing) 😂👊🏼
