For a six hour trip - I hope you have replaced your seats. I had viking bags on my vulcan s and they served their purpose and are great price for what you get. That being said, I still wished that I had spent the extra money for the kawi bags as the vulcan bags were a bit of a pain to install (had to buy a couple of bolts from home depot as the ones from viking did not fit) and you have to drill holes in the back (they are made to fit most bikes after all).
Rob, I still have the stock seat, but I do take breaks every hour or so to stretch. The Kawi bags look amazing but they are SO expensive! And I don't see a locking feature? I don't mind a bit of a hassle in installing the bags.
I have a pair of Givi Trekker 33L hard bags on my KVS and love them to death. Lots of cool features, roomy, and look great. A bit pricey, but you can find them on sale occasionally.
Saddlebags: You can't go wrong with Viking Bags. I have their "Lamellar Large Leather Covered Hard" bags, with the lock. Love them. LOVE THEM. Worth every penny. Lots of folks on the FB KVSR forum have Vikings.
I'm thinking about the Viking bags too, but I plan to also use quick release bracket to remove bags for bike maintenance or whatever. I like the Givi but they seem too much for everyday use. Personally, I'd definitely want something that lock.
Dude, just listening to your exhaust as you sat at the stop sign makes me miss riding my bike. I've only ridden it twice since my accident and my wife wants me to give it up. I miss it so bad.
@@BryanRheem Yeah, I was flying with a bum wing for a little while, but it's mostly healed (broke my collar bone). Replaced the helmet, but somehow the rest of my gear managed to "disappear" when we moved a week later...
Good to see you back in the saddle Bryan!
Thanks @Tripp! Glad to be back!

I want a more cruiser type look to go with the vulcan S... although those bags look like they can take a beating!

I think I will go with Viking and post a video of the install, etc.

Sorry to hear about your accident and situation!!! Hopefully you can find a way to ride with your wife's approval!
