Mountain Biking : MTB Bigfoot Challenge - Hornbeck Loop
Просмотров 564 года назад
So after a looooong delay, we're back out on the trails tackling Hornbeck loop. I really like this circuit because it's short and sweet. Lots of turns, downhills with just one area of killer climb. I really hate this climb! A lot of people go the route of Lower Ditch to Hornbeck but I like doing the opposite, although you have to watch for opposite traffic, which we encounter several times. Howdy folks, just going for another scenic ride up a mountain road. Nothing really exciting and I probably won't take this route again. I'm just exploring a lot of the roads I find and see if there are any that are worth riding over and over again. I have my friend Adam with me and yes, we social distanced! Mountain Biking : MTBBigFoot Challenge - Churn Creek Greenway

So after a year of not riding at all (not exactly sure why I haven't ridden... I'm sure I have some valid excuse), my son and I commit to the big foot challenge. My goal was to blackout but I realized that I'd probably die if I did that! So, the Churn Creek Greenway is a simple 3.1 mile loop with only 194 ft of elevation change. We ran through it once and then decided to do it again. This video...

I am far from a new rider or a beginner. I am 70 years old and have been riding since 1964. I just sold the last Harley I will ever own. I paid $37000 for it and it broke down four times within the first year. So now I want something more dependable. My last nine bikes were all V-Twins and to be honest I am very tired of the chug chug chug of a V-Twin, I checked out the Triumphs and the Royal Enfields. The only one that suited me was the Royal Enfield Clestial Blue SuperMeteor 650, but it rode like an old dump truck. I felt every crack and bump in the road. I think if I were to run over a gnat I would have felt it, I have looked at every motorcycle available right now. The Indian Scout might be alright, but they cost too much. The Kawasaki Vulcan S does the same thing as an Indian Scout and for a lot less money. So I am not a beginner. I am an OLD man but I think the Vulcan S is a good all around motorcycle for anyone who likes to ride. And a bike with some guts to give you a thrill when ever you want to open it up. This being said, I hope to buy a Kawasaki Vulcan S in the very near furture. Who knows, at my age it could be the last bike I ever own.

I have a 2006 Vulcan 500 i just purchased with only 727 miles... I had 3 sports bikes before, all 2002 models. Kawasaki Ninja 500, Suzuki Bandit 600, and Kawasaki ZR-7X 750. The Vulcan 500 has three same 500 twin parallel engine the ninja has. I miss the riding position of the Ninja and how light it was. Oh, and the cornering was sublime!!! Unfortunately, in the Vulcan, i can't stick my knee out and try to lay it deep into a corner like i use to on the Ninja... But, I'm older now and have kids. Anyways, based on what you said... If you can afford it, now or later, keep the Vulcan since they're not making it anymore. Also, look at them like a tool. The Vulcan for a nice comfortable ride to enjoy the scenes and the Ninja for corners and controllability. The Ninjas riding position is only slightly different simply bc of it being smaller and no gas tank truly large enough to have to lay on. However, your arm position is lower and feet slightly back but not much. Try the sports bike and you'll see that the slight difference in seating makes it easier to shift gears and brake while cornering and also seen more forgiving if you go into it a little too fast. I enjoyed your video and you are a cautious rider like i try to be... I've always got my finger on the lights to flick them off it looks like someone's gonna pull out. Considering the last thing you said about the tragedy... I've thought about that and personally find it was easier to control the Ninja in case of a wreck as far as stopping power and maneuverability. Thanks for the video and sorry for such a long comment Lol. BTW what voice system were you using it's really clear?

Its in the the docks to tell you when charging its holding 13.5 charge on your battery. It ruined my Tmax 4150.00 battery. They say overcharged at the shop. Bryan, at 57 now and a follower of Christ for the past 40 years, I have wanted my MC endorsement in the worst way! I'm the "baby" of my family and still am treated like it. I had fight to get into college and earn my degree(at 47 and my degree at 50 years of age). I intend to take "continuing education" courses to improve my skills set. My family has lost out on my accomplishments because of their games. This MC endorsement is important to me that I can't let them know it's happening, and, when I get my MC endorsement-to boot! Doug

But I do have a couple of questions, if I might. 1) Do you still have your motorcycle? 2) Did you purchase the bike in California? 3) last question - On the shift lever side of the bike is a plastic panel that is taken off by using the ignition key. Under that panel you will see the battery and just to the left of it, is a vertical 4-pin plug. Does this plug have two wires Black with a yellow stripe coming from the top of it??
