Got a tip to further waterproof your Garmin. Get some hair spray and spray enough on a paper towel to make it wet. Then rub the hairspray on the seams of the unit. The hair spray will help form a seal. I have used exactly that method on My e bikes electric components. Not a single failure. It works.

your are the first person on youtube i see that put a windshield to that bike. i have just got the new honda rebel 500 and in the first moment i got it i knew a winshield was needed. why? because you can go fast without pain in your chest. a lot of people dont understand that and they just complain about it. i spent 700$ in accesories from thailand because i want to make it mine.i like the vulcan s, but as i wanted a bike that will last forever with me i chosed with my heart, is my dream bike since 2017, and now that i have my drive license and the new fixed rebel 2020 i finally bought it. i know that if i choose vulcan s , i will always think about the rebel. be safe and enjoy your ride.

I also have the STS Smart Turn on my Bonnie. Had the same problem and it is down to those soft rubber pads you need to put in the switch to stop it latching, sometimes they dont crush enough to switch the indicator on thus you have to push harder. For now I have put a couple of small springs in each side of the switch out of an old pen and it works fine...for now... but these being small could tip and jam (as I foresee it) I have therefore ordered conical springs from Ebay 8 mm base dia. 5mm top dia. and 5 mm high. These cannot tip . I am still waiting for delivery and I will post again here and let you know how they fair. The Smart Turn is superb so dont despair I promise you it is the switch. Great Vid thanks.

Casey Simon Interesting take. Personally I absolutely love the backrest. As an extended reach driver it works great for me, but I can see where it might not be as effective with a standard or reduced reach seat. IMO it’s anything but junk. Overpriced yes! Good video! I've been slowly adding to my Vulcan S, as the wallet allows haha. I've got the givi racks as well, a backrest, some kuryakyn floorboards, and the same kqr windshield. I'd love to add the lightbar, but they don't come blacked out... I use the Kriega Drypacks on the givi racks, they look good in my opinion, but some people hate that I've made my Vulcan into a motocamper. Also have a quadlock on it for the phone. Just need to get me a tank bag and radiator guard now.

Thank you for this detailed review. I have the 2019s Vulcan S as a special touring edition (large windshield, leather saddlebag kit and passenger backrest) and some additional features. These are black handguard brackets, a plug socket and heated grips. Especially the heated grips are awesome with 5 different steps to choose. Since last year I‘ve been driven about 5400 kilometers and the standard seat doesn‘t feal uncomfortable to me. I don‘t like a tankbag, I always carry a little backbag at each ride.

Tripp On Two Wheels You‘re right I live in Europe and we have other special editions than in the USA. People here buy a lot of bikes with touring features and love driving allong narrow and curvy streets and make tours through the Alps or other mountain chains. i spent 1200 dollars all together on the givi monokey system.... fully half of that was a matching pair of trekker 33s (33 liter hard cases) and it was worth every penny... with givi monokey you have to realize you only need to buy those cases once.... the system to mount them to the bike needs to be bought for every bike you own/ move on to... but the cases will mount to any monokey system. and if you eventually buy bigger and smaller bags you can adapt to what space you actually need. if you have the 22 liter cases you can throw those on when your only going ona day ride and want to bring your lunch or some water with you.. or if your going to go and pick someone up... you can load the 44s on a monokey and store 2 full faced helmets if needed.

I agree with you saying the Vulcan S sounds like a sewing machine, especially when its first started and idling. I didn't like the looks of the stock muffler. It reminds me of a bomb attached to the bottom of a World War II dive bomber. I like the idea of a concealed exhaust on my Vulcan S, but I needed more sound coming out of it. I ended up buying a CS Racing exhaust for mine. It wasn't cheap, around $700.00 which includes taxes and shipping, but its well worth it. It took a little while to get it, but still worth it. It blends into the bike very well and looks practically concealed.
