one of my favorite songs-so simplistic, melancholy, and yet hopeful-something about peter being older in this performance makes it hit that much harder…
I couldn’t agree more on all counts my friend. Bitter sweet…
He still has an incredible voice
hes a natural, for me THE best voice male wise in music
still hits the low notes
“Wooooh!” (“Because I’m drunk and I recognize this song.”)
such a powerful song.... .. and Peter...he's still got it.
Indeed! I'm debating hitting the residency he's doing for a month here, but I'd be drawn to the stripped version again as it would cover more ground than any of the individual album shows.
Lucky you. Haven't seen Peter since the last Bauhaus reunion tour back in 1999.
Saw Bauhaus at the Gramercy Ballroom in NYC for that reunion tour... oh to have had a phone with a camera like we have now.
Thanks for the comments!
Yeah... the tech toys we have now are amazing. Funny story about Peter.... saw him in 88 in Boston .....gave Eddie Branch a ride to the gig in the back of my Chevy pickup truck. Had to watch the show from a side door that someone kept opening.....didn't have tickets but wanted to hear all the Love Hysteria stuff.
Ha! El Cortez Ballroom San Diego. I waited by a door up from the ticket line. Eventually the door opens, Peter pops his head out. Sees me and gives this panicked look as if I'm going to set the crowd on him. I motion "calm down, your secret is safe." We walk up a hill a little with me covering him from crowd view. Autographs my 79-83 Bauhaus gatefold. Says I'm on guest list... well, showed up later, and nope... no guest list. But that was ok by me for the experience alone.
My favorite Bauhaus song.
love the man, and love this song, been listening to it since 1983 and i'm 53 now
Watched this recently. Just remembered that I loved Peter Murphy & Bauhaus forty years ago. I moved away & now I’m back. It’s a tearful, joyous reunion. What else but music/art/literature can pull us back & forth through time so elegantly? Family? Romantic love? Maybe. Don’t bet on it! XX
I'm crying. it's so beautiful.
Thanks Peter Murphy for bring happiness to this hollow world 🌎
Peter Murphy has the MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICE EVER
He used to, it was so deep and clear but he's ruined it now by smoking and using incorrect technique. He sounds very strained now.
@@amphetameanqueen But what about his hair?
I saw him recently at the Hollywood Palladium with Bauhaus. His voice was insanely powerful. He also threw a temper tantrum. Rock and roll baby!!!
@@amphetameanqueen shit-talker, go sell crazy somewhere else. Have your albums sold and enamoured millions of dear souls? That's right, didn't think so. Go smoke a pole!
Correct
seen him last year. absolutely luv him!
Holy sh!t. Every singer wishes s/he could pull off that kind of emotion.

I was there!
This is great! To see him live! Finally!
I thought he was just a video creation almost. It’s good to see him as a normal human being playing guitar and singing! Cool!

Una delle più belle canzoni che abbia sentito
Wow!
F*ck all beautiful.
❤️ forever your Fan ❤️
From the moment I saw them play their first gig back in late 1978 at Nene College, Pete was destined to be a star. He had something unique and it transfixed you when you saw him live.
Coming from Northampton the lazy British press labelled Bauhaus as a poor imitation of Bowie. How wrong they were. The band influenced a generation of bands and no doubt are still doing today.
It appears Pete's still got that great voice.
❤❤❤❤❤
Ah, Peter just learned the guitar. So sweet.
🖤
hey,Peter, just in case you dont know....trust me...
for a lot of people you were and are THE CREAM (you & the rest of Bauhaus...of course)
Somehow...heartbreaking...the song and the man
Also the various members of Bauhaus could only have continued in America..This country despised them..Critically.
no, the music media despised them
