Only 4k views and a few comments, but I find this 30 min interview to be a treasure. It's a legend showing who he is at his core...a no nonsense, straightforward, humble, and good man who didn't play football for the money, or the personal accolades, rather for the love of the game and the competition, and for doing things right. May God Bless this awesome man. RIP.
BUTKUS- My all time favorite player, a great role model for me while I was playing football. Even in this very interview, seems just a bit uneasy and just rather then answering questions he would loved to be smacking someone, even at this stage of his life. May He Rest in Peace.
Was going to go to Notre Dame until he learned girls were not allowed there (Dick was married) so he shifted his interest to Illinois. Gosh, I just love Notre Dame.

Butkus the man
Wild, I believe your comment was only one day before he passed?

He went out of his way to pretend he was all gruff and tough. Sounds bitter.
My man 💪
