I like how he didn't mention a single *heavy* metal band.
Except Black Sabbath
Some of those were heavy for their time...
kakkoiBakemono But they were and still are considered Rock. There were groups harder then them during their time.
kakkoiBakemono No, they weren't. Try Slayer, Voivod, Celtic Frost, Motorhead, Corrosion of Conformity, etc. Those bands were heavy.
Yodaskool leyman people tend not to know the difference between heavy metal, other kinds of metal and hard rock
***** Black Sabbath was born in 1968, Slayer and Voivod was born in the early 80s, people just didn't know they existed. And it's generally a bad idea to try and divide Metal into even smaller subcategories, because all of rock was essentially born from blues and jazz. And those were born from folk music...which is to say singing and smashing objects together in a rhythmic fashion.
Pop music it's a trend, Metal it's forever.
Los Chinchulines Because heavy metal reduce anger. So it can make you happy
Did you just put Metal and Happiness in the same sentence? LMAO
Jejeje, tha's true. Metal was a TREND in the 70's and 80's. Mostly in the 80's. In ma defence, i would just prefer to enjoy the music.
Los Chinchulines its life
-Na na, nara na!
-Life is life!
Metalheads are normally better people any way.
True, true my friend!
Syn 2nd And will kill you if you listen to your favourite sub genre in metal like deathcore or metalcore because on how the band dresses and looks.
I M ILHAM Ice Nine Kills fucking rocks though!
Syn 2nd are you an A7X fan?
Syn 2nd How is thinking you're better than other people just because you like a music genre make you better? That's bullshit. I've met some of the worst and most easily triggered people who like metal. It's pathetic.
KISS and Def Leppard are heavy metal? Trace, I love ya man, but you should get thrown in the iron maiden for saying that.
Early mastodon and s.o.d. Man. Look it up
Doctor Doom Mastadon now is even more metal and growling...on dethcore isnt metal its gay... so shut up.
All metal is dope af
u are why people hate metal... Generes that have core in name or numetal is shit even normal metal bands sad that like ghost megadeth and so go on...
Striped are you ok??? It seems you are mad.
METALHEADS UNITE! \m/
*headbanging*
RAGE!!!!!
Mosh Pits!
MoTheMagnificent Until the the death of metal , oh, and metal can not die.
MoTheMagnificent :)
The fact that he made that def leppard joke shows how badly the mainstream understands heavy metal.
PooleParty24/7 tru, kiss and def is like fucking tame
PooleParty24/7 true but def leppard, poison ,Cinderella, and other bands he made puns to is not heavy metal, it's glam metal. Still metal but not thrash or any of the heavier stuff
Poison band of the 80s Glam metal decribed by dave mustain=(G)ay (LA) (M)etal
ng jason lol whatever dude,it was cool back in the day,gay is that Justin Beaver and Luke Bryan crap
Poison band of the 80s justin bieber makes music???
I have to say that I'm not surprised. The people at metal/rock concerts form some of the nicest crowds. They truly do take care of each other. I've seen people share water with each other, move so then the shorter fans can see, and even signal to the bands to come help when someone passes out. Granted their is the general shoving and excitement of a regular crowd but I have to say that I have NEVER seen anyone in a metal crowd get aggressive with each other unless they were protecting someone or in a Pit
Beautifully described :'D
Average Ari (ON HIATUS) EXACTLY this. I have been to some EDM shows, but not fully into metal, and oh god the crowd change. Metal fans are inclusive, friendly and great to talk to. I have only been accepted into fanbases.
Epic14Games Metal shows are always awesome, been in some rough pits. I once lost a shoe in the pit, and three big metalheads quickly came to help me, pushing some guys away untill i got my shoe back. Seriously i never see that at other shows other then metal shows.
I want to a slipknot concert and bought a homeless man a ticket because he wanted to see the band.
I've been in many lives, and almost always in the pit, and even in the pit you can see people rushing to raise somebody who fell down or help somebody who got hurt.
dude i was molested when i was 8
children teased/ bullied me at school, made me feel worthless, so did the teachers even made me reapeat a grade, which made me hate anything to do with school and before i was showing progress
parents neglected me, because i wasnt the star child they wanted, instead they got afat and ugly kid, to prove it, i fell of the roof of my house, and went back inside with a gash on my head and alot of scrapes, my spine eventually bent over the years, and guess which parents did nothing about it?
they only complain why i dont have a good job or a car, like my family members
thank you for metal, i would either be dead by suicide or a junkie by now if i never heard about metal, thankfully the Hybrid theory, 1st korn album, & slipknots iowa made my wounds heal,
ive become the jokster in the group,
ive had lost up to 40pounds
become a chick magnet lol
and still perusing my education at 25
thank you metal, you saved my life
r/thathappened
I can relate to your life as I also have a lot in common, I hope you are doing good.
u hold on buddy
good days are just in for arrival
I finally got the 69 like somewhere, nice
🤘🏼
Metal is love, metal is life. Metal, and other alternative music music genres are pretty much superior than mainstream music genres. We're free thinkers.

Bro, you should check out my Chelsea Grin vocal covers!
Remember when acdc was metal, yeah me neither
bill cat its either youve never heard classic metal or youre just too young...
I agree, but as I was watching this video, a spotify notification just popped up and said that Hells Bells by AC/DC was added to Heavy Metal top Tracks. What a coincidence.
Reece Pinchin it's not that it has just been awhile since it was really considered metal
bill cat it may not really have been metal, but the Bon Scott AC/DC rocks pretty hard, even now.
Reece Pinchin AC\DC is and has always been hard rock with blues elements band, from when they first started playing in Australian Pub's till now. They are not and do not claim to be metal.
I am most certainly not young.
Metal is definitely a way to regulate emotions, it's such a blunt honest tool for venting, most people would probably be shocked to see how soft hearted and kind most metal heads are, very sensitive people in general, I remember hearing the lead singer of Opeth (a death metal band) saying one of the inspirations to write his song blackwater park was because he was sad his grandma died!
This is exact reason why I want to be a metalhead FOREVER. Since 2015...
Oh god Trace, these metal puns are putting me to Death
Maj Peppers is that meant to reference death metal?
tazzerdevil98 Death is an 80's metal band yes
Omg that's fuckin gr8 r8 8/8 m8
Maj Peppers from which btw the dethmetal was born, love em
ReX Slayer facepalm
Linkin Park is so fucking Metal, god the technicality of their music is so riveting!! Said no metal head ever
HAHA, their first album has some pretty good songs though, like One step closer and papercut.
Ha, we think alike
Brandon Wojciechowski Metal doesn't have to be technical but yeah Linkin Park still sucks
Rutger van der Meer Technicality doesn't mean shit if the song doesn't have a good structure. Endless sweeping and random tremolo picking just sounds like nonsense. Not many can do technical right but to name a few who can, Beyond Creation, Obscura, Suffocation, Necrophagist, Decapitated, and Abnormality know how to write good tech death without getting boring and staying genuinely musical. Then you have bands like Brain Drill that just sound like chaotic wankery, which I suppose has a right to have a place in metal too but it's not as versatile.
Rutger van der Meer That's why I said metal doesn't have to technical. Like black metal for example. A lot of the bands just tremolo pick minor bar chords very fast, not technical by any means but still very musical and atmospheric.
His puns are making my killswitch engage...
Nathan Colvin And he shall suffer a Megadeath.
+kokofan50 Guess now he has been, Slayer-ed
He shall be annihilated
N colvin I wonder if he’ll keep saying these puns as I lay dying
I would rather be DECAPITATED than listening to his puns.
I didn't really get into metal until around my senior year in hs. I wasn't in a good place at the time, and I found that it relieved some of my stress, anxiety, frustration and depression. To this day, it's the genre I turn to first when I'm feeling too wound up.
Uhlersoth77 yeah I'm a heavy metal fan and I broke up with a girl and honestly I felt no emotion whatsoever
Tom Does Stuff check out garden of shadow sick melo death
I am glad we have a study, which basically puts a nail in the coffin of the often heard accusation from the Religious Right back in the 80s, that listening to heavy metal would lead to emotional dysfunction, the worship of Satan, and would cause the listener to sink into the depths of despair, drug use, and underachievement. Everyone who I knew who listened to bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Megadeth etc.etc.etc. grew up to be upstanding and well adjusted citizens - many becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers, and the pillars of their community. As with most things, the religious conservatives were wrong on this issue. Given their abysmal track record and predicting doom and gloom, it is confounding how anyone takes them seriously anymore.
My friends grandma is like that :/ says its destroying his mind and is satan music xD ohhhh....:/ he lost a friend to his mother saying that metal was the devil and he left him....:( real sad
***** Well, if you're paying attention to the "religious right" you might as well be on drugs because any drug experience is certain to be more pleasant and better grounded in reality.
Hey, just saying that I'm a conservative Christian, and I love metal. Especially Metallica, Iron Maiden, and I'm really getting into some Judas Priest recently.
Same here. And throw some Disturbed in there.
Everyone in the comments is arguing about what is metal and what is not . Remember that Judas Priest and Cannibal Corpse are both metal bands but every different in sounds so why complain?
Mr. Smith exactly
by your logic taylor swift is metal, just sounds different
No, you need some basic sounds that make it metall, but metall is a very varied genra
+Mr. Smith
I'd say don't form judgmental opinions if not acquainted with knowledge and basic knowledge of a subjective matter , in this case I'm a musician so I might as well tell you you are wrong metal music an pop music have different tempo (pace) , different drum beats , heavily distorted guitars , instead of lyrics that talk about nonsensical small talk subjects metal and all sub-genres of metal have lyrics that are acquainted with sadness , loneliness , and other negative feelings which through aggressiveness are released , and give you hope , metal is usually more about your higher powers and self .
this was in general terms , if talked about in more detail and depth , the guitar parts that are being played have scales that are more dark sounding , a little towards menacing and melodious at the same time .
Drum beats are more filling and fast as a result the music overall is faster
vocals are more thrash , and also there is growling , screeching , head on screaming , and may more vocal patterns and styles which make the song heavy
the guitars can be down tuned to go to a lower octave , matching the vocals
the bass plays a major role in playing more than you imagine because you don't listen to bass you feel it , there's a lot of explanation and depth to this so I wont elaborate on the subject
+frickzjee exactly (in short)
+Håvard Wiklund kleppe *genre
The puns are so fucking cringy
The Puertorican Beast Jonathan Ayala omg I know.... Twisted sister.. Cinderella.... Def Leppard... Blech that ain't metal
The Puertorican Beast Jonathan Ayala omg I know.... Twisted sister.. Cinderella.... Def Leppard... Blech that ain't metal
The Puertorican Beast Jonathan Ayala The word “cringy” is overused. Stop it
I grew up on Metal, listened to bands like Morbid Angel, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse and a ton of other Metal bands for most of my life and I can say Metal has helped me though some hard times and kept me going when i wanted to quit.
I'm an adult now and still a Metalhead and I couldn't be happier with how my life turned out. I still go to shows, still go crazy in mosh pits and I'm loving life.
So all these years of black metal thrash metal death metal speed metal Viking metal doom metal and power metal have been good for meO.o
Viking metal FTW!!!!!
Jose Gonzalez Deaaaathh Metaaaal! \m/
YEEEEEE
Black, Thrash, Symphonic, Death, Viking, and Folk Metal are my friend. :^)
Jose Gonzalez black metal.. not even once

pete zengerle def leopard is metal
Ratt Fink Wrong
Uh... 80's hair band music is not the same thing as heavy metal.
exactly, hair band music is Glam metal and Glam metal is not Heavy Metal.
luis delgado tf? Then why is it called hair METAL?
JP McGrath and who fucking cares? All metal is good in a diffrent way, My favourites are power metal, heavymetal, speedmetal, deathmetal, thrashmetal, sleaze, blackmetal etc, fair enough you said that but no one cares dont be judgemental everyone enjoys something and yes i can't new era but then we have nwobm and speedmetal.
Depends when you are talking about. 80s heavy metal and hair metal sound only different by the vocals but not by much
hair METAL. key word is metal
Never felt better than being at a metal concert. The energy, the music and the community holds together, even if people are moaning. The only time I've seen someone get violent was when a guy lost his cool, because he was recording and another dude bumped into him. He got kicked out for punching the guy in the gut. Sure things get intense, but if you walk away without some bruises, you're doing it wrong
I meant moshing, not moaning.
fucking auto-correct!
I can understand that. I have gone to a concert, not moshed, and had a bad-ass time. Moshing ain't for everyone. I have let up and mellowed a little since i hit my thirties. Sucks when you're old enough to feel your knees are aching after about two hours of moving around.lol
Metal is passion
everything else is fashon
and passion will always be above fashon (:
But I'm not saying that many people also liked metal because of fashon instead of passion. That's what a poser is called
I listen to metal, you don't get over it -_-
No wonder I'm such a great person :)
I love many styles of music including jazz, hip hop, many subgenres of electro (trance, psytrance, dnb, house, etc.), country, punk, etc. But metal was my first real love. With metal, I got to experience music in a more invested way. I began buying albums, playing guitar, etc. and becoming more serious about listening to music. I was a bit of a snob when I was a teenager, listening to only metal and bashing everything else. Then I grew up and opened up my mind more and more and began appreciating the styles I mentionned above. Metal has teached me how to invest myself in music, made me pickup an instrument, and also how to enjoy concerts. Metal is something that you love forever, even if I spend some time listening to other stuff I always end up going back to metal.
Also, concerts have the best crowds. I've been to some hip hop shows and while the performances were amazing, the crowd nearly killed the experience at some point
This is really interesting. Even though I don't often listen to metal, I can definitely see how this could be true. I'm more of a punk rock fan and feel that it helps me with my emotional nonsense and I can see how metal would for other's. And for people saying those that listen to metal are weird, c'mon, there are weirdo's in every music genre.
It works for a lot of niche music!!
E Cerveny totally agree about the punk rock
Trace Dominguez The reason it would apply to a lot of niche music and not pop music is because there are so many people who only listen to pop music because it's popular and they want to fit in (just like you mentioned in the video about how other people's opinions on a song would influence people who disagreed because they wanted to fit in) where people who listen to niche music are less concerned about fitting in and more interested in finding things they actually like and are probably more in tune with who they are as an individual instead desperately trying to be accepted by betraying who they actually are as a person. Take a person who is confident in who they are even if it's different and compare them to someone who lets public opinion decide for them and it's pretty obvious who will be the more emotionally stable person.
Slipknot, Korn, and Disturbed
Austin Dotson I love Korn. Never was a big fan of Slipknot though.
awesome bands!
Sabaton is also really cool
+Emir şengül Love Sabaton!! I'm seeing their headlining show on May 21st!!
Dude, you have a really good music taste!
+Emir şengül Thanks!! You do too.
How much does Heavy Metal weigh?
Manuel Burgos I don't know. I never weighed one.
Manuel Burgos Depends on the metal, really
Manuel Burgos It weighs about the same as the internet dipped in chocolate.
Manuel Burgos The CD weighs more than the cassette.
Manuel Burgos depends what metal your listening to
I'm so happy that you mentioned Overkill and Exciter in the first five seconds of this video.
Nobody cares if you don't like metal, we're doing just fine without you ;)
Mark Arandjus Hell yeah \m/
Dio. That is all.
A girl in a Wheelchair has been to several Concerts from One Direction (Keep reading) to Motionless In White & She went to Justin Bieber Concerts & crazed Fangirls were climbing over this poor girl as pushing & shoving her to get past whereas at a Heavy Metal Concert everyone was very kind & actually acted really sensible towards her
Proof that Boybands make People evil
tbh every metalhead i've met or talked to is actually smarter than average .
Mate it's not metal that makes them smarter for example i hate metalheads etc. And i'm even a bit smarter than them. Metalheads love to hate on other genres and they think they're so tough.
Honestly if you listen to the lyrics of metal now its alot more meaningful and people can relate to it rather than the crap they play on the radio.
Also, not everyone who loves Metal have mental problems.
Nicht von dieser Welt "professional help"(which did nothing but hurt me for twenty years) is actually what caused me to be so pissed off and sad that I turned to metal. now I play guitar and write lyrics to let it all out, instead of taking some "magic pill" that only sends my bipolar episodes even further off the rails.
I see...they grouped metalheads with emo kids again
It's the same shit.
Jakub Mądroń Haha that's a good joke
B1ackFr1day666 no pls
Dot No pls what?
B1ackFr1day666 Wow, that was quick, and I was referring to your comment above.
I'm the songwriter and guitarist for an awful brutal death metal band. Am I the nicest person ever now?
SgtRyoseirui yes
I heard that the vocalist and bassist for Cannibal Corpse are very kind people.
Too much glam references.....
Luke Horgan come on come on now you are talking to normal people
Good thing I love metal music
ATTENTION COMMENT SECTION.
Stop calling emo shit metal please. It makes us look bad.
So according to science you will be biased to favor music that you grew up with even if that music was actually shit, interesting.
InMaTeofDeath Explains why kids listen to dubstep
InMaTeofDeath So according to science you will be biased to favor ANYTHING that you grew up with even if that THING was actually shit, interesting.
FTFY, applies to religion, food, art etc for a majority of people for all the same reasons as music (and like with music there are people who it doesn't apply to and they seek their own preferences)
ZpLitgaming dubstep is good enough for me. I am kinda new to metal but I am love it though my taste is a bit 'cute' compared to other type of metal (metaphorically and literally).
InMaTeofDeath You can confirm that even on RUclips. Just look for any old music video here; no matter how shit it is, there *will* be someone saying "yeah, THIS is real music, not that garbage the kids listen today!". You'll see fans of New Kids on the Block saying that. New Kids on the motherfucking Block. I'm dead serious.
+ZpLitgaming Metal*
Dream theatre anyone?
anybody?
1:36 that's how i feel. if i don't get to listen to my metal for a good chunk of time then i get more easily agitated and upset. it's kinda like a valve; relieve the pressure, so when some jerk at the bar wants to come up and fight or someone with road rage cuts people off and almost causes a dozen accidents or whatever the experience, it's a lot easier to keep your cool when you've already offloaded all of your stress and anxiety.
***** exactly
Black, death, and thrash metal give me peace of mind. I grew up on Bathory, Slayer, Venom, Exodus, etc. and still listen to new bands that come out today.
not sure you named a band that would qualify as a "tight knit" group of followers, but obviously this makes sense. people who get their musical tastes from things other than mass media and peer pressure are just better human beings in general.
What about DEATH METAL, BLACK METAL, SYMPHONIC METAL, GRINDCORE, etc?
they also includes , soo keep listening
Every genre of metal is included inside the umbrella term of heavy metal these days heavy metal is used as a umbrella term to describe all genres of metal ...
Black metal
Dude, all my Metalhead friends are real nice people. \m/
"Rock and Roll's not suicide, it's life support." - Tim Skold, guitarist and vocals, KMFDM / Marilyn Manson / Skold
Metal kept me up and moving at work, while volunteering, and writing papers at 3 in the morning.
So what I'm seeing is that people who like (rather love) metal like myself tend to like and accept a wide array of genres, more so than those who are Hip Pop/Rap and or Pop fans above anything else
Carl Olivier Fleurinor Basically true
This comment section is a pure fucking MAYHEM!
As someone who has been to several metal concerts, I can confirm that while metal shows can be violent, they're not hateful and will help someone who's hurt or uncomfortable out of a bad situation.
Metal shows are mostly "violent" only in this friend setting, like you do not wanna hurt eachother in the pit, you just wanna have a great time with your Metalhead friends :D
Dude metalheads are the nicest people you'll ever meet, plus, its a vent, you hear them be angry so you don't have to.
I love metal music
Renee Lahue me to
so in other words I'm more sane than most of the people on earth
If we are still alive in 2020, I want to form a metal band. Just need to find musicians, I am already a electric guitarist, so yeah....
Plus I am 15
Invincible Force 2020 is in 2 years.
Do you even know what metal is? Just because they have guitar and drums doesnt make it metal. Twisted sister... Dude just no
Yes, have you listened to Twisted Sister beyond their two most popular songs? They are definitely metal.
Geez lots of metal haters down here... *cough cough* closed minded
slayer.
metal is euphoric and so supportive, it's beautiful because we are an underground society yet we are a huge group from all over the world
On the way back after driving tests, when I ask my pupils if there's any type of music they dislike, Heavy Metal is one of the genres that comes up the most. However, when questioned further, it turns out that it's Thrash Metal that they don't like.
When I put on other types of heavy metal, most of them are fine with it, or even like it. Ignorance is a terrible thing.
I want Bloodbath - Grand Morbid Funeral to be played at my funeral. That would be funny. xD Also it's an awesome song by an awesome band!
Metal is like a family IF u see a metal brother / sister u help Them all hail metal !!!!
Being a metal head. I can pretty much headbang to anything now. Even classical symphony type music. Metal has opened my mind and changed my life for the better.
Metal is an umbrella term for Many, Many genres of music, ranging from extreme morbid black metal to energetic happy folk metal. So it's kind of difficult to just talk about how "Metal" effects people. -though often the fans of folk metal and the fans of black metal are the same people.
You were a real Slayer with those puns. I'm laughing myself to the point of Suffocation, this laughter is an uncontrollable Mayhem. But let's be honest, Cinderella isn't real metal. They should've been Aborted.
FUCK YEAH!! Couldn't agree more with the research. And yes we are weird but being normal is boring and overrated anyway ^.-
I love Death Metal! I've been a metalhead since the age of 14, im 22 now. Its helped me so much, you have no idea. Metalcore, deathcore, extreme metal all helped me!
You ever gave melodic death metal a try?
The metal community is so much more welcoming than the fucking pop or hip hop community. The metal community looks out for one another. We encourage each other to be themselves. I am so glad that I found this genre of music and it make me feel good everytime I listen to it. I have been to a few hip hop concerts and there were fights in the crowds and people yelling at one another and I didn't feel safe. Now I have been to so many metal and hard rock concerts and everyone is there to enjoy themselves and listen to the music. Yeah there are mosh pits and it may seem dangerous but everytime someone falls down, people are there to help them up. That would never happen at a hip hop concert. This is why the metal community is and always will be the greatest music community of all time.
hellyeah metal rules \m/
Metal for eveerrrrrrr!!
"They can't stop us let them try, for Heavy Metal we will die!" Metal Heads unite!
Best genre of music ever. Words can't even explain it, yet the Brutal Legend gets passed on, protected by the Guardian of Metal. Thumbs up if you get the reference!
The scene is what has helped me throughout the years, as well as pushed me to be a better person. I've also made great friends in the scene that have stuck around much longer than people that listened to more mainstream genres.
rocked out to slipknot since I was 3
Fuck yeah slipknot, the first song that got me hooked on their music is wait n bleed
Troy Horvath Wait and Bleed was figgen EPICC
I guess it's not to hard to run into a fellow maggot on a metal themed video but, here's a big WAT UP DUDE!! anyway 👍👍👍👍 stay (sic)
Slipknot wait and bleed was my first
you gonna be millionaire
I listen to black metal.
Norsk?
Jeg er norsk ja.
Tony Andre Karlsen Norsk Black Metal Vs Svensk Death Metal
Kommer an på hva man liker best.
Tony Andre Karlsen I listen to thrash metal, heavy metal, speed metal, groove metal
When I'm really stressed or angry about something, I'll listen to screaming heavy metal and it helps me release the negative emotion. I feel better after and more equipped to handle the issue.
I love metal music! I don't look like a standard and typical metalhead and it surprises my friends but I enjoy it because it's therapeutic, especially for someone who has dealt with angry and depressive episodes growing up.
Prying open my third eye!
Seek the psychedelic savior
ok, im sorry but i do not classify linkin park as metal. they are this nasty rap rock bullshit.
Nu Metal bro.
whatever they are fucking shit.
DylanTheSmylan They ate a cheap gateway drug
Metalkid1500 Nu metal is bands like slipknot. Linkin park is hip hop rock lol
so seem pist off lol
when we sing or dance with metal songs..the stress level becomes so low that it makes us happy
I've been a pop rock fan before not metal
but it makes me feel good
This is my favourite episode of DNews EVER!...And the best part is that both I and even YOU, didn't even need a study to find out that Metal is the best music, has the most well adjusted and creative fans, and is better for people in more ways than the mainstream trash played on the radio..
All you really had to so was to ACTUALLY TALK TO a metal head for 5 -10 minutes and you would have just figured it out!...
I have had many conversations with other metal head friends mainstreamers who just think that metal is noise and nothing else, and they always look so confused at the shit we say because they are either too stupid to comprehend anything or they just didn't expect creativity from someone who CLEARLY, JUDGING FROM THE COVER... IS ALL ABOUT DEVIL WORSHIPING.... -.-
Another thing that I have noticed is that people who listen to metal have a higher appreciation for older music than people who listen to mainstream music...... Most likely because they're in tune with their creativity, so they appreciate a song or a band for what it really is, more than just noise that a mainstreamer wouldn't take the time out of their day for to TRY and understand........
I'm 24 years old right now, and one of the best memories I have is hanging out with a mate of mine a few years back.. Just the 2 of us.. And his mum went away for whatever reason, so we both thought fuck it, lets have a few drinks..
We pulled all the mattresses in the house into the lounge room, turned off all the lights and what not, and we both sat in the dark, drinks in our hand, listening to nothing but 40's SWING MUSIC...
If that ain't appreciating the music, what is?
Metal is Not Ac-Dc Or Quiet Riat Or Poison Metal is Magaderh etc.
James Yellow megaderp.
I prefer Megadesk
Slipknot anyone?
Nikki me
Four references in the intro. Hats off to you guys
Im no 80's metal head yet i enjoy good music(i dont cosider most pop songs or rap a good music) i am a moderate rock/metal fan(not to confuse with fan, i ain't no blowing machine nor am i sucking machine), i think that ppl who listen to metal benefits from emotions it induce in us and enjoy story, they can relate to it and to other ppl who listens, and they have this sandbox for sadness anger, violence, joy, motivation even. I think it is important to what you listen to and what you do understand out of it, and it doesn't matter what genere it is, for me it is metal and rock and some pop songs, i like trash metal but i dont like most of rap and i consider it paradoxally trash, the rest of it i cannot say i don't like or like, it can be in the background but im rarely interested. SJW hate metal. Remember METALGATE?
LONG LIVE METAL!
im a metal head for life though i listen to a lot of current metal and i find that metal and fast bpm calms me down and slow songs get me agitated and impatient
A few days ago I was at a concert called "Eistnaflug" which is the biggest Rock-concert in Iceland, And for the weekend that I was there, I meet the nicest people ever. I never noticed any fighting, arguing or anything like that. Everyone I talked to and heard talking were so friendly that I found it a bit hard to believe xD One of the guys I talked to said he had walked around and seen if people would give him a hug if he spread his arms out and said "Eyyyy!" and smiled, he hugged over 200 people and only 4 girls and 1 guy didn't want hugs, but he was never punched or told to "fuck off", like he was expecting and said that if he was anywhere else, it would have happened with the first 5-10 people. It's nice to get faith in humans every once in a while :D
(I'm in no way good with what music is "metal, rock, pop etc." so forgive me if a rock-concert isn't related to this video ^-^ )
Incoming pretentious metal heads with their "yeah! We're so much better than everybody else! Every other genre sucks and every band I don't listen to sucks fuck yeah!"
are you trying to stereotype people who listen to metal? All this video was about is that people who listen to metal have the same health/life as everyone else and may even have slight advantages in some areas.
The only one who sounds pretentious is you
REKT
***** see anybody doing it here
***** Its funny how everyone thinks that about us. I bet you anything a metalhead knows more and better bands accross different genres compared to a commercial pop listener
Wawaweewa Rice I don't think you know what pretentious means but okay, at least you made me laugh hahaha
Who here likes Lamb of God?
as a 21 year old in a family of 9, me and my younger brother are the older metalheads, and one think ive notice with the other family that are into hiphop, pop music etc is that they have this mentality a song getting old real fast.
for example, my older brother loves his pop music and he will love a song for like 2 months, then he will never listen to it ever again, if u play it in front of him he will say things like " dude that songs old now"
I find metal songs to never get old, i may sometimes get sick of listening to it, but I always come back to it.
"These people felt inspired and emotional even with subject matter that was sad or isolationist" - 1:43
That's the best broad description of metalheads I've ever heard, as well as why they like music that sounds 'scary' to most people.
this was real cringy
I don't like it, I don't care if you like it.
Okay? That's not what the video was about.
I was commenting about metal music in general.
And no one cares if you don't like it.
E Cerveny Just as how no one cares if you do.
The Anti-social-Socialist Very true, good sir and/or madam. I had no idea that it worked both ways! Silly me! Thank you for enlightening me. Have a wonderful day!
It helps me to relax when life is stressing me out, as weird as that sounds! Thanks for sharing this information that is likely to piss some people off. Metal for life!..!
Great Job Man!
