I saw one of these pull up in the parking lot at my job.. It was a black one. That is ONE BIG ASS CAR!! was gorgeous too.
I thought it was a beautiful car while viewing the outside, but once the bonnet, or hood, was lifted, oh my gosh!, fabulous!!! Whew! This is as close to a luxury car as I will get, but viewing this makes me feel like a Queen!!! Nice upload! Thanks for sharing this for "commoners," like me, to experience!!!

Dear Mr. Ben Wayne, Happy New Year! You remind me of a long time friend that made his transition, so when I watch your reviews it brings back fond memories. I was looking forward to your review of the new Phantom and I must say, you are one of the best in the business. After seeing your review today and seeing the white interior, I think I should follow suit, since the car will primary be used as a business transport. In China most of the companies choose a Black Phantom and I think that the new VIII shows best in the two-tone colour. I have a question for you? Knowing that it's for business, what two-tone colour would you choose? By the way congratulation on your recent marriage. When In Hong Kong, give a ring and I will give you the Emperors Tour and dinner - Best Chinese Food in the World.

I agree duo-tone exterior is the definitely the right move for the Phantom VIII. If I were you I would go for a darker grey for bottom portion of the car and a much lighter grey (possibly even a silver) for the top portion.

The crushed it with the new Phantom, it has no peers now. What's funny is the McLaren 720S also has tires that are foam lined, DragTimes had some at his house for his 720S and was showing how they were foam lined also, hopefully this becomes the norm for high end luxury cars in the future.

Well Greg, contrary to a lot of the reviews I read; I actually enjoyed the movie. I think people didn't really give the movie a chance and they also should stop complaining about the movie as if they went to the movie theater and paid 30 dollars to see it. We all know they didn't. A gearbox linked to GPS to optimize shift-time? I'd really love to ask RR engineers, what sole purpose is of this feature. A military vehicle may use this technology, but luxury 4wheel speed boat?

No I didn't, couldn't get decent footage of it in daylight. Besides, we all are aware of it.
Ultimate luxury
If the steering column and turn signal stalk look like plastic, they're plastic. Why couldn't they select another material for those areas?
That's a good point. Do you think maybe leather could have worked in that area?
Ben Wayne I'm thinking wood for the stalks with some knurling incorporated somehow. Maybe a wooden cover would work for the steering column cover too. Sure it would be expensive to manufacture but this is rr after all. It surprises me how they put all this effort to use the best materials yet they over look these details. Nothing should be plastic. Also, why veneer? Why not solid wood? At least for the trim on the dash and the doors. Maybe they use veneer for weight savings?
Those are things you use like every minute in the car and if it was wood would scratch easily, if leather will wear easily too. The only material they could have used would be metal and that too can scratch or lose appeal when used always. I see nothing wrong with the materials there, it's there for practicality.
wood is going to scratch on steering column cover or a turn signal stalk? leather wear out to easily? metal will scratch? really dude? you do realize that there are steering wheels that are made of wood and leather? and seats that are made of leather.
idillit don't they wear out over time? Leather Seats you sit on, and that's it. Unless you are careless wont get torn or worn out too easily. I agree they could have used chrome or metal which would be the best material for the stalk and turn signals etc. But like I said these features are the most used in a car and when hitting it up and down constantly like the turn signal switch it is possible they can scratch or have marks on them over time. I have a car with wooden interior materials and I can tell you that when I place my hands on those parts constantly, plus when my nails which aren't long by the way touch them I see small scratches over time. This is just my opinion, I never said they couldn't have made it with metal. Just feel it's more practical with plastic and every other car is the same way really.
