Redheaded stranger is my 6 yr old daughter's favorite album, she loved watching these songs be performed by Willie back when I (her daddy) was only a year old 😁. She's a 3rd generation die hard Willie Nelson fan. Thanks for posting, and THANK YOU WILLIE.
It's my favorite album too, I bought it when it first came out on 8-track, and the album!!! And thank you for posting this show of ACL'S, I had alot of old shows, and some of the early picnic's in the 70's but they have all got deleted!☹😢😭 Anyway I Love The Red Headed Stranger Album! We’ve seen him three times, twice in small East Texas venues. He is so much fun, and he interacts with his audience. My son and I were so tickled to get an acknowledgement from him, waving at him from the audience. I love how he sings his hits, Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die, then at the end, we all “have church” with lively gospel sing-a-long. You can’t help but love this man, and I’m sad that he’s nearing the end of his life, but a life well-lived. God willing, we can keep him just a while longer. Love you, Willie Nelson.

Yes, it’s thrilling to know it’s YOU he’s looking at, waving and smiling. I love his small, up-close venues when he coming through Texas . It’s quite a difference to see in those small settings. He really loves his audience. And I was delighted to discover his older groupies, men and women up in years that follow him when he’s doing local venues. You know they’d spent time with him by the way they talk. They are so cute. The last time I saw him was at a bigger venue, and we too far away. He was obviously tired and struggling to catch his breath, and I really thought we might lose him soon. But he has rebounded. If only we could be blessed to have him for another decade or two!
Well here we are three years later and he's thankfully still with us, praise the Lord. I just finally saw him last night for the first time, and I'm so grateful that I finally got to see him. Unfortunately it wasn't at a smaller intimate venue, but as an opening act at a huge stadium show for George Strait, but it was still awesome to finally get to see him in person.
Wow look at that beautiful guitar he is playing. Wonder if it will ever get scuffed or get a hole in it?
He is my all time favorite country music singer/song writer of all time.

Used to watch Austin City Limits on the local PBS channel. Only program I ever watched on PBS. Back before he was known nationally. With the Outlaws.
Convinced Willie is the most underrated guitar player ever
Underrated? He's rated incredibly high I thought
he is, actually. His solo playing is like a stripped backed Django. It's minimalistic, but actually shows a pretty deep understanding of music theory. Targeting chord tones, using triads, playing the changes, diminished scales etc. The gypsy jazz influence is there. He's not just a strummer of cowboy chords.

Para mí toda reconciliación humana deberá incluir éstas cuestiones porque no dejan de ser historias, recuerdos de chicas de saloon o frecuentadoras de saloon y si le vamos a hacer caso a los cuentos para mí que tiene que ser así.
Hoy muy en boga y act tualida recurrir a abogados y juicios yo prefiero la modalidad de cuentos.

I love Willie Nelson and this song, but this performance seemed rushed and it didn't come across as deep and introspective as I remember it on the album.
It does seem a bit faster but not necessarily rushed--just a different interpretation, less "ballad style"?
