Thank you so much. Because of this video, I was able to replace a broken screen on an HP Pavilion x360 - 13-u168nr laptop. There was no need to detach the lid assembly to remove the digitizer panel, by the way.
> There was no need to detach the lid assembly < Agreed. Take the bottom off by removing all 4 screws under the rubber cushions plus the 2 tiny screws on the front edge.
Worked as advertised. There was one additional screw that is in the center of the hinge side that kept the keyboard from being detached. Removed the metal cover (which doesn't look like it should come out), and issue was resolved. STRONGLY recommend replacing the cover as well if that is damaged in any way.
I just bought a whole new display screen assembly...less hassle. this tutorial is probably one of the best on the details of doing that once the assembly is all together! Sure it might cost $50-80 more to do that instead of just replacing the touch screen itself... but it's worth it...you don't have to open up the screen LOL
@@novycher I bought mine on ebay. Though I didn't install it right as it thinks its sometimes in tablet mode and disables the keyboard and touchpad. Just be careful when you do replace it.
Hi there, a problem with my screen occurred when I felt random resistance when adjusting the angle of the screen, long story short the screws that hold in one of the joint are stripped (on the side under where the screen is/back cover for the screen, there's three almost flat screws with gold washers) is it even worth replacing the screen and using other methods to keep that joint in place since the screws probably won't hold well. Sorry if this is vague kinda hard to describe.
Hey guys I know this might not be the exact right place to put this comment BUT who knows you might have this problem or something similar!! I recently changed out my entire display assembly on my x360 laptop and had noticed upon rebooting the display worked great but when the Windows 10 login screen popped up my keyboard and touchpad were disabled as if it were in tablet mode. To (fix) this I would have to reboot a random number of times (until the Operating system gnomes hiding in the laptop decided to unlock them. It drove me nuts!!! I got scared thinking maybe I created a hardware fault somewhere as I was installing the new screen, but that wasn't the case as I could use the keyboard to get into the BIOS. Sigh of relief! So this told me it was a software issue of some sort. I looked online and people said to turn off and hold the power button for 60 seconds(this is suppose to reset settings of some sort). Didn't work. So then someone else said go to device manager and human interface devices, power management and unclick allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. No effect! Also noticed my auto-rotate was greyed out. I think this had been the case before but I tried some regedit fixes to no avail. Not a big deal. It's still currently unable to autorotate! LOL oh well. so then someone else mentioned to see if there was a keyboard mousepad unlock/lock option in the settings...there were none for me. And this would be an annoying fix anyway! Then I noticed that it would CONSISTENTLY allow me to use the keyboard and pad if I restart the computer with the screen laying flat on the table?! WHAT?! That told me it was some sort of sensor issue so I installed a new driver for the sensor. AND that didn't work either!!!!!!! I felt kinda defeated so as a temporary fix I changed the power setting of the lid to not go into hibernation or sleep mode and to just continuously stay on. Not a fix a really liked guys! I don't want my laptop running 24/7.... So as I was about to give up on what was left of my sanity I stumbl3d upon someone saying to try uninstalling the device driver for the display adapter ! So I tried it AND OMFG IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe that simple fix solved an issue I had been wrestling with this for like 12 hours :) :) :) I was about to do a fresh install! (Let me preface this entire thing by saying this is my girl friends laptop and she didn't like the idea of me fiddling around with her most prized possession in the first place you know the thing that enables her to escape reality and not go on a complete rampage of life/limb haha just kidding about that last part :/ wait am I? And I am the cause of this mess!? I mean I traded one problem for another I fixed her screen but now she can't type hahahah!! Um anyway yeah I want to be able to sleep at night! No thank you!!!!) My girlfriend would have kicked me out of the house if she found I had created a fresh install potentially losing documents/files/bookmarks. Anyway take this advice for what it's worth if you have software issues with your keyboard/touchpad not working or only working certain laptop screen positions sporadically.
I've got a x360 but it looks slightly different...the screw heads look star shaped almost and when I tried to put in a regular eyeglass screwdriver I was afraid to strip it. Your screw heads look normal. I guess I got to buy a special set just to replace the screen hahah
Is there a way to purchase the top cover itself? My hinge broke and caused the frame to break, so the entire top part of my laptop needs replacing. Its still works like normal, I can touch the screen, i can use the laptop but the other side of the lid is cracking from the pressure of the loose hinge between the frame and the screen.
My laptop screen is broken but it cost way to much to repair so I just want to remove the entire screen and casing so that I only have the keyboard part left, would I need to cover the display connectors or would it be fine if I don’t?
Hey man I also have an HP pavilion 360 Touch screen i3 1TB but the display is all broken and how much money is for changing the display I'm still searching for this laptop display from 4 years.
Hey man I did the same thing but my laptop is not wanting to turn on, I plugged it in and still not turning on. I removed the battery and it did turn on. Any ideas on what I did wrong?
Hello ,my screen is perfect but my right hinge is unevenly placed (crooked), i am afraid that it may break the lid when the hinge break , what do you suggest guys what should i do
Make sure all cables are properly and securely connected. If not, it may not work. I hate putting things back together than have to take it apart again because one or two cables was not connected properly.

You only Neef to Open Up the top Part because you dont need to disconect the cable from the Motherboard!
Always disconnect display cable from motherboard before replace display
Te felicito por la elección de la música... Eso complementa perfecto el video tutorial...
