Welcome to Singapore. Anyhoo, carrot cake is a radish and rice flour dish. A better bike rental is at Esplanade at City Scoot. Sometimes part of the gardens are closed because they might be doing some maintenance ✌🏼
@@WorldwideWheelers Oh cool! Some tips for daily essentials. Try the hawker centres (avoid Newton and Lau Pa Sat) for food. That’s where you can get delicious and affordable stuff. For groceries at supermarket, avoid Cold Storage or Jason as they are expensive supermarkets. Try Sheng Siong, FairPrice, Giant or Prime or even better the wet markets for meats and vegetables. Other than that you’re good 👍🏼
@@WorldwideWheelers oh the usual fair. Nasi Padang, chicken rice, popiah, noodles, prata to name a few, as there are thousands of dishes sold in hundreds of tiny stalls. Just have to see what fancy you that day ✌🏼You may wanna check out Strictly Dumplings for Singapore hawker fares
@@kaiserlow652 I will definitely do that next time! The rice cakes were so different than the korean ones, so I think I need to get used to it! I;ll try it again :)
@@WorldwideWheelers korean rice cakes is made of glutinous rice (flour) which is different from the usual rice flour. Glutinous rice is what the westerners called it sticky rice. It is chewy and sticky. In Japan the sticky rice cakes is called mochi. In Chinese is called muah chee. They are all same same but different kinds of cakes made from glutinous rice😄 Rice dumpling festival is around the corner. You will see stalls selling the pyramid shaped dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves. It's glutinous rice wrapped in meat and chestnuts etc. Another is lo mai kai which is a dim sum dish also made with the same rice.
The carrot cake does not look nice . Just that for Singapore food , one has to to choose the right stall. Carrot cake (black and white) are nice if you choose the right stalls.

@@WorldwideWheelers You can ask for more chilli. 😀
