!!!!! Spinning is literally how I got into knitting!!! I randomly got a spinning lesson for my birthday last year and then decided I should learn how to knit properly (beyond the garter stitch of my childhood) lol. Why did I stop?!?!? I guess to focus on knitting? But the most joyful knitting I've ever done was with my handspun yarn. You also really have to freehand with handspun because it's not as predictable as commercial yarn. ALSO, don't worry too much about spinning really thin yarn, it won't take as long as you think to learn how! Once you get past the beginner stage, it's actually much harder to spin thick yarn. It's like the yarn naturally ends up getting thinner and thinner the more you get used to spinning.
love this!! i’m so glad I started, it’s so gratifying, and being able to knit with your own yarn is something else!! thanks for the advice! that’s good to know, cause i loooove thin yarn hehe
Your sincere excitement during the entire process is very contagious! Can't wait to try this out. Another step forward in my crocheting journey, thanks to you.
Ooooh I love making new yarn out of scrap yarn. Later on in your journey you can use these scraps also as accent pieces in your own batts of roving. There's so much possibilities!
Your videos always make me feel grounded and remind me its okay to slow down and slowing down not being a bad thing. Living a slower more authentic life just feels right for me and i feel like ur my true friend in this scary world. Thank you for being urself you are such an inspiration and watching you and your process makes me feel happy 😢❤
I just found your channel, and I so enjoyed watching your joy in your first yarn. I still remember the joy of making my first spindle and yarn. I also made a niddy noddy like yours and 10 years later if I need a niddy noddy I still use it. Blessings on your spinning journey.
the end product is so lovely!! you did a great job. Also ,did you soak the yarn in water and let it dry while it was still on the niddy noddy? In the video it seemed like you soaked it after you took it off and perhaps thats why it kept coiling up
