i mean all kimds of chickens can purr, but since silkies are usually respond better to being handled, they are probably more likely to purr. i have a green layer chicken (sadly i have absolitely no clue what kind of hybrid she is), but she, too, does purr. i have no idea what it is that makes her purr, but well...
Yeah, now I'm DEFINITELY getting one this spring 😍 Do you think they'd get lonely without chicken companionship? I'm planning to get 1, maybe 2, & hope they don't tear up my gardens like the previous flock of 6 big Rhode Island Reds did 😅
Chickens stress and get sick easily without companionship, always get at least three in case there's an accident and you lose one of them you always have at least two birds at any given time.
Maybe I'll raise 1-2 female Silkie chicks this spring, & then next spring I'll have them help me raise an Astralorpe chick, & watch her get waaay bigger than her adopted mama(s). Yup! Foolproof adorable plan 😁
My chicken looks like this but I don’t know if it’s male or female because it crows and is bossy it also killed one of my other roosters so I don’t even know if mine is a rooster or not but it looks exactly like this one but white
I’ve never seen, or KNEW about this species of chicken before! They look so soft, and fluffy, almost as if they’re covered in fur instead of the usual feathers like most other species of chickens!
I raised my silkie from 1 day old and I spent so much time with her and gave her love and the right care but she doesn’t like me touching her or holder her :/
That’s a bummer. All our Silkies but one liked attention. Before we moved them outside we used to keep our first two in a pen in the back room. We would put a towel on our lap and watch TV with them
Silkies are the avian equivalent of cats. Confirmed.
Pretty much.....
Actually all chicken purr, not only silkies
Torcularis my turkey purrs
One word: Owls.

Silkie chickens are naturally calm birds that love to be petted.

Skinned?
@@M_u_t_e96024 mhm. Silkies have black/blue skin. as well as 5 [i think] toes per foot rather than 3 or 4
@@shad0wed_s1gnals yep! Some people don't eat them because of that. Eh, chicken is chicken.
Oh how cute
Aww! What a sweet little silkie! I just love this breed. They're fluffy little lovebugs.
It doesn't even look like a living animal. Looks stuffed. So cute

Ud need 2 at least
Could you make more Silkie petting videos? They make the cutest sounds
My silkie is purring along to this video.
I have one who has a scissor beak and she’s been living for 5 years now
she has like 9 years to go
Oh my this is adorable
It almost sounds like their purring sound is muffled by the extra feathers
silkies are the best breed. Your chicken is happy! :)

My roo listens to this and falls asleep in the first 5 minutes.
That's not a silkie, thats a cat in disguise!!!
😒👎🏾
Beautiful "Hair"
My best friend had a Silkie named Midge who was the same color as yours.
This was my oldest one and probably most affectionate
Or as Kristen Bell called them: Cuddle-Chickens
Fire type chicken
Looks like a kid's toy.
Aaaawwww ❤❤❤

My Silkie called "Samantha" purrs when she is brooding

Because your scaring her

@@MeChrisChee is the chicken a male in this video
Same ;(( we have to silkies and we always had them out cuddling and now they don’t like being touched :(((
She's doing that because she was broody
+x Aqua x Clan Actually she does it all the time. She was not broody in the video. Her broody noise is way different.
Wtf I never commented that lol that's my other account
What does broody mean
Blue Vegerot Late but when they’re laying eggs.
@@bluevegerot6754 it means that your chicken is laying eggs, the avian equivalent of a heat cycle in many mammals.
in Vietnam we eat them when they are teenage with Traditional China Medicine
Right? I never realized there were “black” chicken
Awwwwwwww, what a sweetie~~~~~!
