@@BradPhilpotcan recommend Rissy if you want to try racing one, you miss out the dog leg so it’s a nice fast flowing track where you get to experience the speed it’s capable of.
How about when you are 4 karts all touching bumpers at 85mph down a straight? I usually felt ok after the first 3 corners. We did a standing grid start and they could be pretty sketchy.
That's awesome, always wanted to drive one as well, but haven't the chance yet. I always notice how pointed the good guys make the apex, which would be so hard to get used especially coming from 4 strokes where mid-corner is everything. Well done mate!
Was hoping to race a KZ2 next weekend, haven't driven one yet, was going to have first laps on race day. It fell through, might end up doing a Prokart style kart (just with more power) endurance race instead.
I added mechanical paddles to my TM K9C powered kart. Sourced from Italy. There is YT vid out there about them. I believe mechanical ones are KZ2 class approved. Much much improvement. ….Motori Seven was where I got them
As Grosjean said, "If you can drive a shifter kart fast, you can drive a Formula 1 car" Im used to single gears but besides the old Formula As back in the day, the shifter kart is just the most mental thing I have ever driven!
I didn't know Grosjean said that. I knew a guy that raced in F2 and did well, then became a driving coach. He also said if you can be smooth in a shifter kart, you can drive anything.
You will find that this is far more of a mental exercise to be really quick. Once you begin to know what gear you are in it will become far more relaxed. They are fun but brutal when you really get down to shaving time.
@BradPhilpot first of all its 6, and 2nd in a kz you dont need to know what gear youre in, just know how many you need to shift down before every corner. Upshift theres no question just shift when 14k rpm
@ wait - you just told me you shouldn’t count but now you’re saying you need to know how many to shift down before each corner. That’s called counting! 😅
@ yeah but how many you shift down is dependent on what gear you’re in. And there are any number of reasons you might not be in the “normal” gear as you arrive at the braking zone. If I’m in 4th gear because someone held me up on the exit of the last corner and I’m normally in 6th at this point, but I still shift down the same number of gears as normal, I’ll be in the wrong gear. I’m not new to changing gear in racing vehicles 😅
You should try a race in one if you can - nothing more insane than going side by side at 90mph+ and seeing who brakes first 😅
I’d love to!

That would be a blast!
And to think that Max Verstappen was the world and Euro champion in these karts at the age of 15 against seasoned professionals!
You did real good
Another MAP fanboy here! I am now subbed to your channel as well! Love your content sir! Especially when you tell Spanners how he's so very wrong!
Welcome aboard!
So glad that MissedApex Podcast brought me to this amazing channel
Thank you for watching! And listening to MAP!
"I'm just hanging on for dear life." 😂😂😂That was me trying out a low-level racing kart for the first time
I was!
was amazing to watch you do this at dunks pretty much with the sun going down was really an amazing sight to see
Thanks man - love you

Been busy all day. Just getting to the vid. I'll resume commenting post watching.

Wow that looked awesome and scary at the same time!!

Ah that’s shame - where are you based in the world? What track?

I have a senior Rotax and that’s fast, I have no idea how people race KZ 😂
I think like anything, it just takes a few sessions to get accustomed to the speed and then it feels natural.

into a wall maybe lol sorry
What camera are you using inside the helmet?
If you can make a video demonstrating it!
That’s a CamBox V3+
can sense the speed difference ❤🔥❤🔥
You can feel it pretty clearly too 😂
Kieran shanks what a legend
Agreed
I could beat him
That’s a sexy go-kart.

I can see that for sure
Is that a Cambox ?? Nice Track !!
It is!
done pretty good for your first time, the elbow sucks 😂
5:40 just watch and listen🤌
Sound Up
Please get a camera with better stabilisation.
I have them but you’re not allowed to run them. You’re only allowed in-helmet cams
yes looked very tricky but fun i always wanted to do 1 of those 160mph superkarts around donighton now that would be scary 😱
You’d love it Chris
160? That's insanity
@@rjarookie4654 yes just search for superkarts on youtube to see videos of them
What an animal
Yep!
Jesz that's rapid
Yeah it’s brisk. I want to do some more

dont ever count the gears in a kz mate. never worked for me or anyone else
Why not? There’s only like 4 or something. I’d count the gears in a race car with 7.

That looks awful having to change gear all the time. Under acceleration it's like constantly changing up
It’s certainly a lot of work! But fun!
Just Love hearing non religious folks saying Jesus Christ 😆😆🤣
yeah it’s purely a common exclamation. I could equally say “Thor’s beard!” But Jesus is much more frequently used in common parlance.
