Great song....This was done in 2000 and the man doing the vocals and Harmonica is Stanley "The Baron" Behrens who also plays the Sax & Flute and was wit CH from 1999 - 2005. Stan has recorded with Willie Dixon, Alice Cooper, Jimmy Smith, etc, etc. he is now the Harmonica player for a band called "WAR" which like the "HEAT" has been going since 1966 , WAR has been going since 1969 and Lee Oskar was their Harp Player for many years...

Stanley "The Baron" Behrens...is one bad hombre'. You can feel the dues he's paid and the music that is in his mind. Someone I always look forward to hearing.

Yes it's a Diatonic in the Key of A, however, it had a little special tuning for one note to be captured and Stan has know that since the song came out. But there has always been a mystery as to why Harp players had a hard time emulating it. And yes that is Fito, one of and the only original in this group. Larry Taylor comes and goes and their still playing but with a couple new members. Stan has been playing with a band called "WAR" which has been around since 1969.

True Brasso, Larry jumps in and out, Harvey "whom I lived with in LA will be touring here in Australia this time along with Larry, Fito & Dale. BTW, when I made the "Boogie with Canned Heat DVD Stan was a member and I felt added the authentic edge to the band. Cheers

Nice job,Ray.I used to think he was bending the blow note, hitting an overtone on the 5 hole when I first heard it,but then I figured it out.Hell that was back in 73 or 74 when it came out.I realized Allan used to put chromatic reeds on the upper registers on his harps to enable him to bend those higher notes on a diatonic harp.I think he might have also used one of the brands of diatonics that come with the reeds, but I'm sure he did what most guys do and thats just call Hohner and get the reeds and put them on yourself.Ray demonstrates the use of those reeds at around 3:22.However,Ray also demonstrates how special Allan was .Allan not only had one of the best tones ever, and was absolutely one of the most melodic, talented harmonica players of all time(the solo in Boogie Chillun on Hooker n Heat is THE best harp solo ever)but his timing was phenomenal,he knew that more isn't always better.I loved how he'd change harps in songs.Check out the side of Hooker n Heat with just Allan and John Lee.Probably the best harp playing you'll ever hear. The only thing that comes close is Butterfield's version of Everything's Gonna be Alright at Woodstock and Little Walter in Mellow Down Easy.Funny thing all the guys I mentioned never really used the upper registers, like a lot of the modern players, well, modern mainstream guys. But you'll never hear a bluesman use the higher registers unless he's playing in first position

MEBUUS, Are you talking to me about pretending to be Stanley B? I have known Stan for 45 years, I did make a tribute video for him using OTRA which was recorded in Sweden. The name of it is STILL ON THE ROAD and it's actually a tribute to ALL the members & former members which shows all of them from 1966 till the present since I have been listening to them since then. I saw them live in 1969, so I do not pretend to be anyone I know who I am and I AM CONTENT WITH WHO I AM! You need to try that

Richard Day Stanley Behrens. You should check out their current harp guy, Dale Spaulding -- in my opinion even better. Of course, there is no replacing Alan Wilson.

Lee Oskar is STILL the harmonica player for WAR. He just can't tour under the WAR name because that name was stolen from the original WAR artists by a greedy producer. Mr. Oskar still performs WAR music with original WAR artists, Harold Brown, Howard Scott, BB Dickerson under the LOWRIDER BAND name.

Hmm.. Weren't you the one who claimed he was Stanley B on another video?
You certainly seem to have the same username.. So are you just actively running around praising yourself on youtube videos? 'Cause that is just pathetic.. Or are you just someone who likes Stanley B so much you decided to pretend to be him?
