I know people are really territorial when it comes up to canned heat, but I feel that way about Al Wilson. We all would love to turn back time but why was he put in the custody of bear
@@ANAPERNINHA when Alan left the hospital for depression with a prescription of nasty pills he had to be put in someone's custody so they would take care of him
I always knew and I appreciate listening to them more as time marches on. Check out Mike Bloomfield with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band from that era too.
I worked with the rhythm guitar player, his name is/was Jaime Shane. It was in 1968-69 in Hollywood and in Whittier with a great group named Hayward Lee And The Marauders, great band-mate! He introduced me to Larry Carlton whom I bought a Honda motorcycle the day I met him, true story. 👍🏼😎👎🏼🎼🎶🎵🎸🎵🎶🎼
Nobody really talks about Richard Hite as a bassist, but the contrast he creates when he smashes down onto the low E string at 0:24 is remarkable. Really adds GUTS to the whole proceedings. Great to see/hear/experience.
Gotta agree. Wilson was tremendous, extremely underrated in rock history, but certainly Hite was a big part of the Canned Heat's success as co-frontman. And Hite and the rest knew blues very well. This is still more traditional blues than lots of the over the top stuff that gets called 'blues rock' after the mid 60s.
So tired of cryin' baby, back on the road again So tired of cryin' baby, back on the road again Well I ain’t got nobody just to call my special friend My mama left me when I was quite young My mother left me when I was quite young She said "Lord have mercy, on my wicked son" Hey baby tell me, where did you stay last night? Tell me baby, where did you stay last night? You come home with your hair tangled, you still ain't walking right Well I'm back on the road again Got no special friend So tired of cryin' baby, back on the road again Oh! Well I'm so tired of cryin' baby, I'm on the road again Well I'm so tired of cryin' baby, on this road again Well I ain't got nobody just to call my special
British-mechanic a think he's a big fan of the White Stripes and what a proper boss vocalist that lad is , much much preferred this version but can see how the peeps like the original,, never heard that version, cool, cheers for the upload la
@Liam Toon ~ The medial report said that Hite died of a heart attack which was "the indirect result of an overdose of heroin." Wilson's death, in September '70, was officially declared a suicide although no note was actually left by "Blind Owl" and, because of that, there are still a few who whisper hints of murder. That would seem unlikely though. His '54 Les Paul guitar "disappeared" but was recently found to be in the position of a collector in Europe.
Kick ass version of this song.. we miss Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson! He died too young! RIP Alan

Here in 2023 to hear some real music because today's stuff is crap rip boys I'm sure your rockin some where 🫶🏽
Honestly, Bob Hite is like the most underrated vocalist. he might actually be my favorite.
New found respect for him as a vocalist after this one
I never realized how great a Blues band Canned Heat was. I always thought they were some just some hippy band. Boy was I wrong!
I always knew and I appreciate listening to them more as time marches on. Check out Mike Bloomfield with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band from that era too.
To be fair, they were both.
The drummer is deep in the groove.
Fito de la Parra from Mexico
the last one standing.
worlds most under rated band
My favorite Canned Heat video of all time. Who cares what they had for supper or whatever - this blues harp, especially that harp - is the best.
Loved them @ 14 yrs and still do
Phyllis Bowers
Saw them here in California many times. Rock on and Boogie.
Out of all the music genre's this song shines loud...

Saw Fito and the band about a month ago at Yoshi's in SF. Still got it! Fito, Larry Taylor and Harvey Mandel are still playin'!

Fair play he's a damn good singer and keeping Alan Wilsons spirit alive. How's he that overweight with that much energy! Pure passion

Cocaine
J'adore
This version and the "Change is gonna come" Woodstock version's the best featuring the bear on vocals.
Back when bands performed high off their asses. Gurnin' and turnin', while still laying down the groove.
Esto si que es musica!
Oui!
in our collective time, this music absolutely underrated
on the road again!!!great song
