A hard decision but a very good one. Thank you for putting Finns well-being before your own emotions. He’s got too much potential to be sitting in a field being a pasture puff, he’s going to make that little girl so happy and that’s all that matters. It’ll never get easier having to sell one of your horses, especially one that’s had such a big impact on riding journey. But I will say seeing another little kid as happy as you were with him and enjoying him as much as you did makes all the sadness worth it

I've been watching you guys for over 5 years now, but never really comment. This made me so emotional, though. I can't imagine how hard it is for Sophie because her and Finn were an amazing pair. Knowing when to say goodbye is such a hard decision. It's been amazing to watch the journey of Sophie and Finn over these last few years. I had to sell the horse I thought could have been my forever a few years ago as well, and it was hard to see when it was time, but I knew it was and it was right. Horses are hard. I wish Sophie luck in her future horse journey and I wish Finn luck with his new girl!

My heart goes out to Sophia, what a difficult decision to make, but ultimately the right one for both Sophia and Finn. Very proud of you and it looks as if he’s not gone too far, so hopefully you might still be able to have some contact with his new owners and see him out and about. I saw that he was for sale and had been sold so I knew a video was coming, but it still brought a lump to my throat 😢 The start of a new chapter all round for Sophia and a new horse and Finn and his new owner. Looking back on Sophia’s journey she has learnt so much from both Stella and Finn, even though the road was a little rocky at times lol and I’m sure that there is another horse out there that will be the perfect partner for Sophia. I am sorry to say this Laura but wanting Finn to be a show pony is very sad, he will be outgrown and sold on again and again. Better for him to be a loved family pony for very small adult/ daughter share (before anyone says anything, if money isn't the issue then the right, lifetime, home can be found)
@@Lifewithhorses628 it’s literally how it works for most show ponies lmao. They do their job for an owner and then they get moved onto the next person. And when they’re too old to be competing they’ll go to a home for happy hackers/ small shows/ as a first pony for a kid who will keep them until their last days. That’s how the circuit works for competition horses and ponies. Very very rarely will you see them stay with one owner unless that person has the time and the money to keep them forever.

I have mixed emotions on this. I know you all made a good decision. I think it was made with Finn in mind, I also hate the fact that you were pressured by people who don't know you to make such a personal choice. as a plus size equestrian, having worked in field hunting, standardbred and quarter horse racing, owning and training my own reining horse and and hackney stallion, I know how horrible people can be. what we watched here as fans was the START of someone getting pressured because of their weight. Sophie, you are strong, and learning to balance. please do not let others tell you what you are capable of. As an aside, there are entire groups of people ( of all shapes and sizes) that own, compete and love ponies and small horses. People watching would do well to remember that who you are watching is a human being with feelings ( a young child at that) I'm sorry you had to say goodbye to your friend. I know you placed him in a home where he would be loved. I wish both Sophie and Finn happiness moving forward, and I wish that everyone watching remembers... these are young humans, and the future of our sport, shape them with love understanding and patience.

In a world thst judges so harshly she has remained un touched from. The pressure to be perfect. I wish it was like thst for all kids growing snd living their own lives.

Brilliant news, so pleased Finn will have a new home, hopefully with less drama. Sophie is getting to be a big girl and will need a much sturdier horse to carry her so she can carry on enjoying riding.
I've been a silent follower for years, what a sad video. I'm proud of Sophie and everyone for this tough decision. They're not all for us to keep. Seeing her grow as a rider the last few weeks riding Denver has been so rewarding, I sure hope she can eventually look back and smile at the good times and thank him for teaching her so much, and opening the doors to these other horses that will continue to teach her.
To be honest I actually find this very funny this happens like right after Riley made her video you all probably got him vet tested realized he was lame and just decided to dump him on someone else this is so in response I'm very disappointed in humanity at this point you take on an animal they are your responsibility for the rest of your lives not the second you Find a problem with them you don't just dump them on other people they are your responsibility and besides you all created the problem
We actually sold him because he was such a nice horse. We have never sold a horse because it was lame and finn wasn't lame per our vet! It's actually normal to sell your kids' first pony after they grow out of it. We knew sophie was growing out of finn and were always looking for a new horse for her. Unfortunately people will see whatever evil they want to see regardless of what's real!
Letting go of not only your horse but your best friend is such a hard thing to do, but this was the kindest thing that you could’ve ever done for Finn. It’s never easy but it will be worth it for both Finn and Sophie. Very well done ❤️
The thing is every child will outgrow him. Where does he end up after he ages out. We all know what happens to horses that have been passed around and age out. Very sad!

When this video came out two years ago I was to sad to watch it. I deleted RUclips and got it back again and finally watched this. I’m so sorry about Finn. I always thought Sophie and Finn were made for each other. I hope Finn is happy with his new home. And how much it pains me to say this, but you made a good decision selling him. He didn’t deserve to wait around for your other family to be ready for him, he is so great and has so much to offer.
Finn is gonna live out a great and happy life with his new owners. You guys made the right decision, it was unfair to Finn to keep trying to ride him when Sofie started getting too big. It was very mature and please make sure Sofie knows this is the most loving thing she could ever do to Finn.

you gave him a loving home and allowing him to go teach another kid is the best thing you can do for the horses you love when it’s time! sending you guys love ❤️ also a homemade “waterless” shampoo/poop stain and mud remover: in a spray bottle do 2 tablespoons of shampoo, 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup alcohol, water to the top and shake. spray on dirty horse, wipe with a damp towel. great for all color horses but especially greys 😉

I have absolutely loved watching Finn and Sophies journey over the years. Its sad when we grow out of our ponies but she will ALWAYS have what he taught her. And he will have what she taught him. Watching his personality appear slowly after you guys got him was amazing, Sophie brought that out of him. You will always have your memories as well. He is a great pony. And now he gets to teach a new girl the same things he taught all of you. ❤

Not only did Sofie grow out of Finn but I believe Finn grew out of Sofia as well! They both progressed in such an amazing way!! Brilliant news, so pleased Finn will have a new home, hopefully with less drama. Sophie is getting to be a big girl and will need a much sturdier horse to carry her so she can carry on enjoying riding.

I've been a silent follower for years, what a sad video. I'm proud of Sophie and everyone for this tough decision. They're not all for us to keep. Seeing her grow as a rider the last few weeks riding Denver has been so rewarding, I sure hope she can eventually look back and smile at the good times and thank him for teaching her so much, and opening the doors to these other horses that will continue to teach her.
To be honest I actually find this very funny this happens like right after Riley made her video you all probably got him vet tested realized he was lame and just decided to dump him on someone else this is so in response I'm very disappointed in humanity at this point you take on an animal they are your responsibility for the rest of your lives not the second you Find a problem with them you don't just dump them on other people they are your responsibility and besides you all created the problem
We actually sold him because he was such a nice horse. We have never sold a horse because it was lame and finn wasn't lame per our vet! It's actually normal to sell your kids' first pony after they grow out of it. We knew sophie was growing out of finn and were always looking for a new horse for her. Unfortunately people will see whatever evil they want to see regardless of what's real!
Letting go of not only your horse but your best friend is such a hard thing to do, but this was the kindest thing that you could’ve ever done for Finn. It’s never easy but it will be worth it for both Finn and Sophie. Very well done ❤️

The thing is every child will outgrow him. Where does he end up after he ages out. We all know what happens to horses that have been passed around and age out. Very sad!

Wow! I forgot how little Sophie was when you guys got Finn. She had such an incredible time with him, and now he can give that to someone else. So excited to see her start over with something soon, and make just as amazing a bond as with Finny!

When this video came out two years ago I was to sad to watch it. I deleted RUclips and got it back again and finally watched this. I’m so sorry about Finn. I always thought Sophie and Finn were made for each other. I hope Finn is happy with his new home. And how much it pains me to say this, but you made a good decision selling him. He didn’t deserve to wait around for your other family to be ready for him, he is so great and has so much to offer.
Finn is gonna live out a great and happy life with his new owners. You guys made the right decision, it was unfair to Finn to keep trying to ride him when Sofie started getting too big. It was very mature and please make sure Sofie knows this is the most loving thing she could ever do to Finn.

also a homemade “waterless” shampoo/poop stain and mud remover: in a spray bottle do 2 tablespoons of shampoo, 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup alcohol, water to the top and shake. spray on dirty horse, wipe with a damp towel. great for all color horses but especially greys 😉

Heartbreaking when you have to say goodbye. Hopefully Finn will end up with a loving family that can give him all the love that Sophie did.
This is so sad to hear but you loved him so much that you have to let him go. This could not have been easy to do especially for Sophie. I wish that they could have kept him at your barn. And this was not easy to watch, I’m here crying. Wondering if he misses you guys and his old family.

I have absolutely loved watching Finn and Sophies journey over the years. Its sad when we grow out of our ponies but she will ALWAYS have what he taught her. And he will have what she taught him. Watching his personality appear slowly after you guys got him was amazing, Sophie brought that out of him. You will always have your memories as well. He is a great pony. And now he gets to teach a new girl the same things he taught all of you. ❤
Finn was such a good horse you can just throw a horse away like a pair of old shoes that’s not fair send it so much and it’s not even his fault that Sophie fell off so many times
She has outgrown him. He's not getting thrown away, he's going to someone who will be a better fit.

Not only did Sofie grow out of Finn but I believe Finn grew out of Sofia as well! They both progressed in such an amazing way!! They both had the best time together and made unforgettable memories that you will never forget! Now you need to keep your heads high and do the same with the next heart horse.
