Hope y’all enjoyed and learned something! This will be the first video of a new weekly series on how to get recruited for College Soccer, so stay tuned! Comment below what your recruiting process/story is and what you’ve learned, I wanna know your guys opinions on this!
I'm committed to play soccer at Haverford College for next year, the class of 2024. I'm helping my two younger sisters who are also looking to play in college. My top tips: 1. Figure out what is most important in you choosing a college/university; you want the best fit academically and athletically. 2. Contact the schools with your CV/playing resume and a highlight video (should be between 2-4 minutes). 3. Attend ID camps with multiple schools, so it gives you the best opportunity to be scouted. Hope this helps
I really keep up with each an every video of yours, because I really want to get recruited as an international player🙏🏽🙏🏽😭I would really appreciate the scholarship
Why is it bad to send the same email to every coach on the coaching staff if you have the same message for all of them? I feel like then there's a higher chance you will get a reply
You could, and emailing all of them is for sure better than just emailing one coach. But if all 3+ coaches get the same exact copy and pasted email, especially if it doesn’t say anything specific about their school it doesn’t look good on you. The biggest thing is to get the coaches names right and say something about their school or program that specifically interests you, just don’t make it obvious you sent the same email to every other school
Hey man, I thought you really gave some good tips in this video and they'll help a lot of people. Funnily enough when I was speaking to coaches I also spoke with the CSU Pueblo coach ahah. I'm actually releasing a similar video in a few days but specific to international players.
Good video, however it’s a shame that some colleges are cutting men’s soccer due to funding because of the pandemic. Cincinnati currently the biggest one. Golf, lacrosse, volleyball also being cut from colleges. Feel sorry for the players. However more players going to US academies & oversees camps would be good for the national team
Thank you, and yes it’s really sad to hear how many clubs, schools and leagues are suffering right now. For our national team and mls, it is better for them to play academy and overseas than college to be honest. I’m just praying most clubs and teams can stay intact after all of this and that the players and staff will be taken care of.
Unfortunately I can’t tell you exactly what that’s like, but still reach out to as many schools and coaches as you can because it will be very hard for them to find you and let them know you’re international because having foreign players looks great on college rosters and if coaches are interested they’ll let you know what you need to do to go to their school
Please check out my channel man, I have just this year gone through the process and I am really trying to grow my channel and help as many people as possible achieve their goals. I have a video coming on Monday about my exact recruiting process and my top tips for Internationals.
It’s hard to say which is better when it comes to skill level, but the best naia teams could probably compete against d1 schools while the worst Naia schools can be horrible. For example I’ve seen quite a few games that end 10-0 or worse, whereas the competition in D3 is normally a lot closer and even every week. So naia at its best can have very good talent and skill, but the weekly competition isn’t always the best. D3 still has lots of talent, but don’t recruit internationally as much and might not have better players than some NAIAs. Every week almost all of our games were close and could’ve gone either way last season, and we weren’t a good team in our conference.
I’m a junior in high school right now , I haven’t started the recruiting process yet , I have received a couple emails , I haven’t done anything yet though . I really want to play D3 college soccer , is it to late to start emailing coaches?
Im from Wolverhampton, UK & just want to know on average by your experience how many European based players make the college system in America? or is it 100% Americans
I’m not sure what the exact numbers are, but there are lots of European players playing college soccer here. D2 seems to have the most foreign players and some NAIAs recruit internationally a lot too. The European players also seem to usually dominate or at least start on the teams they’re on. D3 probably recruits locally more than any other division, but I still probably played against around 10 international players last season, most of them from Europe.
Hey I used to play club when I was in 5th and was top and ended up playing finals for all state California tournament and then I moved to New York and my parents can’t really take me to games so now I haven’t played club for the past 4 years. I made it to varsity as freshman and I’m now going into sophomore year. But will it be harder to get recruited with no club team and only playing hs soccer? Also my hs team only records 3 games a season :/
I’m sorry to hear that man, if it’s your dream to play college soccer, it sounds like you might have to get a job and buy a car so you can play club or pay to go to camps, or just perform extremely well in high school. Keep faith and work hard and you can make it happen! I took a 4 year break from club till my junior year and made it happen, and I didn’t make varsity till the end of my soph year, so you can do it🙌🏼
It’s definitely possible, I got interest from some schools before I had highlight videos posted, but it will be a lot harder to without one or game film. If you do make All-Conf or get other awards like that though, that will help
@@JoshNewlinPerformance dope. im I'm juco rn and I don't know when I should be trying to reach out to my schools in order to transfer from 2-year into a 4-year. Should I start reaching out to the coaches/ programs in my fresh year of juco or soph(emails , questionare, etc)? and what should the process of transferring from juco to a 4-year would be like?
I’d say as soon as possible, even if you don’t have film or highlights from your freshman season you can still tell coaches how many minutes you played and other stats. Personally Idk exactly what the process is like but from what I’ve heard it’s not too different than going from high school to college, you still need to reach out to coaches and a lot of coaches want juco transfers since they have good experience. It will always help you to start early and get to know the coaches at other schools, and that way they can see your improvement as well. Directly emailing them is the best way, but if you have the time questionnaires are also good to do. Just make sure you’re someone they won’t forget and you leave a good impression on the coaches. Good luck man, keep me updated on how it goes!

I'm currently playing at the juco level as freshman. Is it possible to be recruited to transfer to play to other schools without a highlight vid?
