Originally Sopranos would have been 4 seaons long and I think as part of that original ending, Tony would go to meet Johnny Sack and screen would fade to black which confirms his death to the meeting, similar cinematography used in the actual ending with the screen fading to black. imo the death at the hands of the Lupertazzi family originally would make alot of sense, a mounting case against him, Tony killing made guys without permission etc.

She was great indeed. To me though, part of the show died when Ralphie was killed. Similar to Shane from The Walking Dead, and Stringer Bell from The Wire. They were that spark or live wire, that made you watch, and kept the show entertaining. Gus Fring had that presence also from Breaking Bad. You hated to love all of them.

That was actually one of the clues that Melfi picked up on that led to her realizing that Livia wanted to kill him. She wasn't intentionally hinting at anything. She was subconsciously giving herself away.

What I really love about the family dynamic in The Sopranos is under normal circumstances, punishing AJ for breaking the law followed by telling Livia and Junior to stop encouraging the little guy is good parenting...until you remember what Tony does for a living. How can you teach your children to be upstanding citizens when the money you spend to feed them comes from the vices you tell them to stay away from? Tony and Carmela are walking contradictions, Meadow has terrible taste in men, AJ is the little bitch boy Tony wanted to be, Corrado is the old gangster that everyone still calls "Junior," and Livia is the embodiment of intergenerational trauma. A perfect storm indeed.
