I tolerate him as best as I can because I plant flowers for him and his fellow butterflies...I'm happy if he lands on the flowers and not on me!!

I too have a garden like yours, about the same space. I too would love a bigger garden, but I do look at it in a positive way, that it is less to look after, and no grass to cut! I have trees and plants in pots, and with the hose pipe ban here in Devon, England, it means I have to water everything by hand, in the evenings, with the watering can, but I actually enjoy doing that, as I know it is helping the plants thrive, and it is good exercise for me, coming and going from the kitchen, which is not far from the garden, to fill the watering can up with water! I love your window boxes, they are so pretty. I buy ready planted hanging baskets, which come in a plastic hanging pot, then de camp them into wicker hanging basket, with chain to hang them up, instead of the plastic ones. You could also grow some tomato plants in pots, as they love the sunshine, and you can then pick fresh tomatoes for your lovely food that you make! xxx

I have a few of the soft magenta pink hydrangea. The blooms are large but they are made up of individual flowers that are smaller than the old fashion type. Of course, they would be blue in a different type of soil.

I lol when I seen your purple flowers, years ago I left the plant in-between my gate and my neighbours as she was not home, it sat nicely in the metal bar that a joins both our gates, I was sure she would see them and this was a goodbye to her as i was leaving, we kept in touch over the years and she always said someone had taken the plant as she was actually away over that weekend, so cut to 10 years later and she sent me a pic of exactly where i had left it, lol it must have fallen down the opening and took all these years to grow to the top. Try adding used coffee grounds or tea leaves to your hydrangeas soil, it will add acid to the soil and color to the blossoms.

I lol when I seen your purple flowers, years ago I left the plant in-between my gate and my neighbours as she was not home, it sat nicely in the metal bar that a joins both our gates, I was sure she would see them and this was a goodbye to her as i was leaving, we kept in touch over the years and she always said someone had taken the plant as she was actually away over that weekend, so cut to 10 years later and she sent me a pic of exactly where i had left it, lol it must have fallen down the opening and took all these years to grow to the top. questions for your Q&A: 1. what would be the most people you’d entertain in your space? i also live in a small apartment and when i’ve had more than 4 i feel cramped although i do have an adjoining living room and dining room table that comfortably seats 6.
2. do you feel that a host should have to deal with others odd dietary restrictions when it comes to what they serve. if someone had a known allergy i wouldn’t serve that food, but these days it seems to go way beyond that. what’s a host to do?
3. i’d love to see more in depth your work with the producer of your candles and scent, and what that entailed. will you be showing us that in the future?
4. how would you define your current style and what are your decorating goals for the remainder of the year?
