  • No Hot Water In Bathtub But Hot Water In Sinks??? The bathtub water is cold. It is the only fixture with no hot water. Look around for a hot water limiter, hot water regulator for tub, or thermostatic mixing valve whatever you call it. Subscribe here :ruclips.net/user/ThatFixItGu...

    I had this problem but I didn't even know this was a thing. It turned out that the valve in my case was fine, but was closed so there wasn't a lot of hot water. I was able to open it up and the tub is nice and hot! Thanks for making this video, was a huge help.

    Thank you for a great detailed video! Just a quick question, is the process the same for the PVC pipes instead of the piping you worked on? Reason I’m asking is because I’m not sure if the plumber has glued the fittings and don’t want to crack any of the PVC

  • @docimma

    Awesome video. Why did you not use plumbing thread tape on the valve?

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  Месяц назад +1

      They were unions with gaskets. No need for tape in that case.

    Had to deal with them constantly in hospitals and nursing homes. In the TX panhandle they get destroyed by the water down here constantly, luck fully where I work now we only have one for the tempered water tank for out chemical mixer for the industrial washers. With pex I have found that the fixtures also don't last quite as long also due to the flexibility of the pipes copper is great at absorbing impurities and these valves are the only thing with copper, or a metal in them so naturally they will absorb most of the impurities now.

  • @ScubaCat3

    I have zero experience with those mixing valves, but it looks like you'd want to lift off that limit stop ring and set it back down with the tab on the other side. Where you set it would allow the cap almost another full turn hotter...or maybe that was the point or I'm missing something? Either way nice repair as always! good stuff. 👍

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  Год назад +1

      That was on the old one. I left the new one set where it was. I would have done that for sure if it was the new one.

    Brian, Temu has an IR point and shoot thermometer for under $8, but minimum purchase is $10. I'm sure you could find other tools that might be useful, to pay for the shipping.

    I put one of those right at my water heater and only ran the full hot water about 130 to kitchen sink dishwasher but the thing started to go bad after ten years or so like that it would not give us hot water. so i got a fancier one with a built-in temp gauge seems to be working better than the old one i guess the things wear out over time.

    How do you fix no running hot water at all, I mean no water runs when turn it on?

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 месяца назад +1

      Does the cold run? I would first check the aerator, then try the supply line. Shut the water off Remove the supply line from the faucet and try to blow it into a bucket. If you get no water there you may need to shut the water offf to the house and remove the valve and blow it out there. More than likely there is a clog somewhere.

    • @ThatFixItGuy

    I lived in a townhouse back in 2013 where the first upstairs bathroom's tub and shower started getting only lukewarm water while the sink plus other bathroom's sinks, bathtub including kitchen were still getting scalding hot. No one did anything or worried about it, I dealt with lukewarm showers for two years until we moved. I thought for years it was all in my head or something but it's actually a real thing that happens! I never bothered to google the problem lol.
