I've watched a lot of these reactions to Jacob and this is the first one where the person really, really gets it. The salute at the end was awesome. Thank you for making my day.
Easily one of the most enjoyable reactions I've ever watched. Your comments and joy were contagious. I loved that you would play certain areas of particular interest more than once. Gave us all an extra chance to hear the music and take in your observations. A great reaction like this is like getting to share something you love with an old friend. Thank you!
There's not one person that I have introduced Moon River to that did not shed a tear and it was possibly not emotional but the note that he hits that is not on the spectrum is angelical and it reaches inside your soul
Man you're reactions is literally my thoughts and reactions as well it's so fun to see someone reacting and feeling the same emotions as me !! Jacob's music makes me glad and happy and exited and it really shows on you'r emotions as well i really appreciate this video and your reactions are one of the best ❤keep it up and please watch more of collier because it's a pleasure!
it's amazing hearing the perspective of someone who knows what's going on there. us simple plebs go "ooh, that's weird but mint" entranced. seems having to process the actual stuff is a bit more tho init. haha. glad to hear your perspective.
Yup, l am totally blown away by Jacob. My daughter got to see him in concert in Montreal and turned me on to him. It was a blast watching your reactions!!! Lol. The guy is a genius!!! Who else besides Jacob could pull of the ‘Fiintstone’ song. Lolol. I’ve heard several of his renditions of songs, all brilliant. So happy to see someone enjoy this mind blowingly talented kid!!!!!
Oh. My. Gosh!! The guy is a mad musical genius! It's so crazy and beautiful! You dropped multiple F bombs, LOL. I totally love your reaction and enthusiasm! Shoutout to QoFy!!
I fell down the Jacob Collier rabbit hole over a yr ago. You should check out some of his videos that explains how he does all this stuff (they're very lengthy tho). He plays just about every instrument made (😉), but he's all about harmony. His live stuff is nuts too. He can teach music theory with ease and beyond! He's won a few Emmy's too. Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock are big fans of his. That's crazy!! 🤪
This was so much fun! Was on your livestream, but had to watch it again here! Jacob is incredible, you have an incredible ear and you are such a joy to watch! Thanks for posting this for everyone to enjoy!
Whoa...That moment when you realize that you are alive on Earth at the same time as an ALL-TIME musical genius! And it's just the tip of the iceberg. Maybe check out one of his OTHER Grammy winning songs? He's won five so far...Flintstones and You and I in 2017, All Night Long and Moon River in 2020 and He Won't Hold You in 2021. He was also nominated but didn't win in 2021 for Album of the Year (Djesse Vol. 3) and for R&B Performance (All I Need).
your convulsing, passing out, leaving the premises, and/or throwing equipment in response to Jacobian harmonies are all common side effects to musician response. I love your reactions and input.
I love your réaction. 👍👍👍👍 The same for me the first time and now I continue to like this guy. Please you have a lot of videos with Jacob.. Don’t hesitate to tell us about your reaction 😃😃😃😃
@@QofyReacts Well he shot the video on the iPad. Not sure if he tracked the thing in Garage Band or if he recorded the vocals in Logic yet. Can’t remember when he got Logic at home.
You would think with all the technology in the world today with recording music, endless instruments, channels and plugins that poeple would be able to produce the most complex, perfectly arranged electronic music ever recorded. Nope, a guy with a microphone and a melodica still blows out of the water.
3:42 - Haha! Oh my gosh - your reaction to THAT MOMENT in the song....it was pretty much the same as one Mr. Herbie Hancock's (oh, and Quincy Jones', too!) reaction to the same moment! Check it out: ruclips.net/video/ERvd5QjupSU/видео.html
That wacky rhythmic bit near the end of the 2nd verse which you had a but of difficulty identifying is not so much an Indian rhythmic pattern as just a very clever bit of metric modulation (I think...?) The lead and backing parts (for sake of argument let's call it Tenor 1+2 and Bari 1+2) stay in the rigid 4 with some off-beat patterns, but from the bar starting 'Let's ride...', the bass part has 5 over 4; the next bar it has 6 over 4; and the third it has 7 over 4 - giving the effect that the tempo appears to be speeding up when in fact it remains exactly the same!! SO CLEVER 🔥 (apologies if I haven't explained it clearly haha)
Have no idea if you're right or not as I'm not👍 musically trained but thanks to your comments I'm starting to understanding the nuance of what it is I'm hearing. Thank you for taking the time to post your comment! 😀
@@QofyReacts 👍 and thumbs up to your reaction and off the cuff analysis. Best I've watched and I've watched them all. Please comment on more of Jacob Colliers music. I don't understand what I'm listening too but I know instinctively it's incredible/amazing and thanks to your video(s) I start to have an inkling why. Thank you ❤️

I highly recommend that you watch Moon River! It is definitely my favourite and it's just heavenly! 💖 💖

I just love it when you throw down your headphones in astonishment!! Great reaction!!
Around 5:37 he's doing 5 beats to a bar, then 6, then 7, and it's unfair how easy he makes it come out
Ikr the tempo stays the same but he just subdividing it further it messes with my brain
You're reaction had me roaring! How you hold the salute then are speechless I lost it
This is on a musical level that has never been seen before
Your joy at good music is contagious and palpable! I can feel it. This is why I love you and your reactions.

Grammys* but yes the Jacob Collier hole is fantastic
@@Ralphbone Ha! That's what I meant. 🤪😄 Thx for the correction! I appreciate that. (I didn't even realize I typed Emmy).
You've GOT to try Jacob Collier's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert. There are 3 songs; you could do them one at a time.

Many of us have borderline 'lost our marbles' over Colliers genius.
Wade!
A most entertaining and informative reaction to Jacob. nice one.
Wow, thanks!
Best reaction EVER! And he was only 17 when he did this on an iPad he stole from his sister and a Shure SM75 mic. Insanity.
Thats Insane!

3:43 Running away is really all you can do with that information...
first time I heard this, I can only think "what the f*ck is going on here??" 😂😂 I couldn't catch this level of harmonics and chords. insane! 😂😂
Watched on your live stream, had to watch again unbelievable young man.
Next, the Christmas Song by Jacob Collier !!
I covered this one!! His acapella epics😍
@@Ralphbone I listened to your cover, it’s very cool ! 👍🏻
@@thermometre4717 thank you!!!
Yay! I’m so so glad you posted this separately 💚
My man react ”In the bleak mid winter” - jacob collier
man you are so funny, loved the reaction
Thank you!
This is not a movie about aliens. These kind of people really exist. There are not many of them, but they exist.
Haaave you heard Jacobs version of Moon River? xD
5:55 It's not a tempo change, it's a constant meter change. :)
😊🤩

Makes me think of Peter Hollens and some of his stuff.
Why split the $$ 5 ways when you can get it done with 1 voice!😜‼️
7:09 - нормально же общались, зачем ты это сделал?😂😂😂😂
3:45 acceptable reaction
React to more Collier stuff!!! He has music that’s wayyyy more mind blowing!

Did you already or are you planning to react to quorum quartet still the One?
It was good but the fact that he calls it ugly a bunch of the time is like it’s ugly but it also isn’t, idk I love jazz
