Great video and nice view of Sale Water Park. Not been for a long time after moving away from the area.
Excellent video Daniel !
Thank you! And thank you for watching :)
Damn. This is probably the best photography video on the Mini 2 I've come across and I'm so gutted it's taken so long to come up.
This coming from a noob at photography
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you came by it! :D
Tip with shutter speed and iso really helpful thanks!!
Thank you for watching Mate! :D
useful tips, thanks. Daniel ,new to the mini 2 and my first drone video is very helpful, cheers
Amazing video mate. I learnt so much
Glad to hear! Thanks for watching! :D
i like that bit about using the AEB feature and the Raw setting .. will be trying that on next outing...
Let me know how you get on! :)
Very useful, thanks buddy!

Great video and nice pace. I learnt some new tricks from it. Thank you :-)
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
good work, subscribed instantly !
Thanks mate! Just watched your drone crash! I’m amazed it survived haha!
Congratulations on your videos getting 3000 and over viewers. I just ordered my filters for my DJI mini 2. Just a beginner here but will follow you to learn more. Thanks.
Thanks Dan! (Cool name!) I’d love to see what you get with the filters! 😁
Cool, I got a better understanding of settings 😀
Thanks for watching mate! 😁
Seriously good video!! 😊
I didn’t know about the AEB setting! :)
And now i know why my images were mostly grainy! 😅 This will really help me improve my Instagram photography quality!!
Well explained 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Nice tutorial! I would caption the title drone fog photography.
That’s so bizarre. Your video randomly popped up on my timeline and I was thinking to myself that I recognised that tree line behind you. Low and behold it turns out you were standing literally where I was standing this morning. Thanks for the tips dude. Very useful😀👍
actually useful tips, thanks. Personally prefer Photomatix, and Hugin can restitch those sphere/pano shots back into usable images too. Word to the wise.
Thank you for watching! :) I’ll have to give those a look as sometimes LR messes up the resolution
5:17 tip for people that use Lightroom and want to get all the detail in a sun shot take a light photo and a dark one like he showed and make sure not to move the drone while doing so then in Lightroom you can ctrl click on the 2 images and do a hdr mesh and you will get all the details makes it look like a very expensive camera
內容非常優質!
Very informative, thanks for sharing. New sub here!
Thank you mate! Greatly appreciated! Do you have the Mini 2? :)
@@danielhallmedia yes, just purchased. Very impressed.
@@markfrost64 amazing! I look forward to seeing what you get with it! 😁
Thank you for the simple tips, as a real beginner with my drone and editing this is really helpful.
Can you recommend a editing platform that's not going to break the bank especially after buying the mini 2?
even if the video is a few months old. it's very helpful and well explained. I'll subscribe to your channel and see if you can upload something great. 👍😃
there are alot of videos by pros and content creators showing advanced techniques using costly software, what i need is a tutorial on using a free video editor that makes mini 2 footage look pro!
Hey mate! As long as your following the best techniques in camera (making sure you limit how much you need to changed in editing) your footage will look good to put in most software :) I’ll have a look into free options to edit in! :)
What do you recommend ? AEB to HDR or simply RAW then editing in computer ?
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Hi. As a photographer I would recommend to not set the horizon in the middle of the picture. Set it on the higher or lower line of thirds.
Thanks Jennifer, I tend do that the majority of times :)
Hey Daniel very nice tutorial Love the ending results of your editing Thank U 🙏 for sharing, PeaceLove&GodBless
Amazing! Thank you for watching!
Have u tried out darktable ? It is completely free and it looks like a really powerful post production software
Hey Daniel, great, down to earth video and gives me some things to try. Would love to know how you got yellow circle following cursor and red circles when clicking. Are you able to make a video on this? Thanks in advance :-)
Hey Becky, thanks for watching! 😁 I do this in camtasia 😁 it’s super useful for this sort of video :)
@@danielhallmedia thanks so much for the reply, I’ll go and check it out
Hi, I bought my nephew a DJI mini 2 and first flight this Sunday (Boxing Day) .. he experienced some blurred images when the camera was rotated down, can you tell me what possible reason there may be for this or is this a fault?! Thank you!
anyone know how to fix a crooked horizon on the mini 2 with out manually changing it?
Do you think it would be easier for beginner to use filters rather than do all that in light room as looks complecated?
For stills you don't really need to use ND Filters unless you are going for a long exposure. You don't have to use lightroom too, there are some easier apps such as a snapseed to do the editing :)
Where do you get these presets you used I looked thru all the presets on lightroom and can't seem to find these nice ones you showed us
Hey mate, the particular presets I used in this vid are from samueldbassett.com/presets/5vqcu8wceiuzw9yuhqodupyctz6kte :)
Can DaVinci resolve merge multiple photos for more data like how Lightroom does??
I don't think it can!
Is there any free photo editing site that can do HDR merging?
How you get only raw file without jpg?
I always shoot in raw weather it being a camera or drone but with the mini 2, the quality of the raw file is terrible regarding sharpness and exposure, the jpeg seems to produce pretty decent quality...why is this?
Cheers
I think it's just the lack of processing the Mini 2 gives the JPEG. I tend to fine its fine after a quick play around in Lightroom :) More data to play with when the image is flatter and the sharpness isn't baked in.
I'm thinking about my first drone. And now it's between mini2 and air 2s. Which one will you recommend? The purpose it's mostly photos... is it quality OK on mini2? I'm using full frame canon camera and I'm wondering if the quality of mini2 will not be annoying for me... maybe 2s it's the best choice...
Hey thanks for your comment! It’s quite a difficult one! The mini 2 is amazing! And it does have a lot of amazing photo features! I do think the air 2s is better for videos, but fairly similar in terms of photography. The only benefits are a couple of extra features and a slightly bigger sensor!
Which camera do you shoot on?
@@danielhallmedia for now I'm using Canon 6d Mark II, so the quality of images are important for me... Still, it's first drone so it should be satisfying not annoying... 😉
No need to apologize we would do the same thing lol 😆
So easily done! 😂
Interesting video, thank you for sharing. However, I perceive a problem when it comes to merging the three different exposures for HDR. In ordinary photography, in order to shoot for HDR, or, different exposures for combining, the camera should ideally be mounted on a Tripod. This is to avoid any camera shake. For sure, post production software will align images as best as possible, however, it does depend on the fraction of movement between each shot. You catching my drift here! Well, I'm puzzled as to how bracketed shots with a Drone would produce anything that could be merged successfully, considering, even when as stationery as you can be with your drone hovering, hopefully with no wind to buffet it, there will always be too much movement for successfully merging three bracketed shots!
Fast shutter speed will compensate for some movement, however, the plus +3 EV, for your under exposed shot, being at a slower shutter speed, may well be shaky to say the least. I'm interested in how you overcame this. Many thanks, Daniel.
Totally with you Mike! In theory this shouldn't work, but as the drone is kept in place really well and the fact it as a gimbal to stabilise the shots, there is still plenty of the image that is aligned to do a HDR merge. You do end up with a slight crop, but nothing massive!
And the same goes for long exposures with the drone, it can handle 2 seconds quite well! Which I find very impressive, with all the movement! It stuggles after 2 seconds though!
Wow , you need to buy a drone and do it . Instead of saying it shouldn't work. You've got a bit to learn
@@moonbeam9901 Drone or DSLR, creating images with a camera for both requires the same considerations. As Daniel has said himself, in theory it shouldn't work for a Drone but apparently it does. Great! And I do have the DJI Mini 2 to try this out with!
I dont have label size in camera settings so i cant shose 4:3, can someone help??
Hey mate, I just double checked to have alook, the setting only shows up in the settings if you are in photo mode, it doesn't appear in video mode. Is that any help? :)
@@danielhallmedia yes man, that worked for me. Thank’s a lot! 😃
Can anyone recommend any free editing software for iPhone/iPad - I’m planning to spend a lot of time away in my camper next year and have the mini 2 and am pretty confident in terms of flying it but the shots get a bit boring depending on where I may be of course.
I’ve looked at photoshop pro but it looks way more advanced and expensive for someone like me.
I do have premiere rush and CapCut - I still find it’s hard to stitch “stuff together” and I hate that you can’t just use whatever music you like … (don’t want much do I 😂)
I guess it’s just practice and playing around. It’s just for uploading videos to instagram whilst away on trips to the south coast (Devon and Cornwall) plus I’m hoping to get over to Europe for weeks at a time … I’m not sure how videos come out as an instagram reel as obviously you don’t have the the portrait camera mode so it would cut a lot of the footage out I’d imagine. I love the mini 2, the capabilities are unreal for something that weighs a little more than Apple!
I was thinking about the mini 3 pro but may wait until they come down in price but to be honest the only thing I’d like is … and I guess it is a massive upgrade of having track me with the obstacle avoidance. Thank you for your great videos and merry Christmas to you all. (Yes I’m aware this is an old video)
Edit - I’ve just looked at PS Express Premium for mobile/tablet and they have a 33% discount making it just under £20 for the first year 👍🏼

Great video! How can I combine my aeb photos in Adobe lightroom? (not lightroom cc) I tried doing it the same way you did but there was no merge option. Thanks!
The shutter with nothing moving in frame at that vast landscape makes zero difference in motion blur

If you have to shoot raw your doing something wrong when taking your pictures :-)
You should clarify to viewers that shooting raw does not make your photos better. And in fact will cause them to have to do more post processing. Shooting role simply captures more data to allow you the most flexibility while processing. For simplicity and in theory JPEG gives you much better looking images as it allows the camera and all the hard work of millions of dollars worth of research and development and engineers and software programming to do its job and spit out a decent picture
Also Tip number two is moot if you’re shooting and raw because you can change the white balance after the fact a little bit harder. Call
Sorry your 1st comment is wrong
0:45 the best way to take a picture is, to pull down your pants.. now that is raw..
