I was in the shorts for 60 hours
😂😂😂
One of my favourite camping trips of all time was at 427 on Buzzard - amazing to see other people enjoying it as much as you guys. Also love the queens shirt, go gaels!
Best trip! Thanks Rob and Mir for taking us portaging for the first time😁
No problem!! Can't wait to go again :)
Good paddling ! You found nice toilets 😄. The place is beautiful ! Great adventure.
Thanks for watching!
Lol you guys had burritos in the forest, I thought you just ate grubs and fish you caught
Haha yeah they were very tasty! The fish we caught was pretty good too
Looks like so much fun
Thanks, it was!! :)
What a family. Sweet video!
Aww thank you :)
Fun to watch. Thx. Watching from Ontario Canada
❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️
Hey! I'm going little turtle site from raccoon lake access point. Do you know where do i have to park and access to the shore with our canoes?
Hey, sorry I’m not sure. we parked at the Long lake access point each time we went there
Very nice.
Thank you
It’s called backcountry camping.. not portage.. omg’
Let's go Portaging!! :P
Haha you can tell it was our first time 😂
@@robandmirjana looks like you all had a blast and thank you for sharing! I'm so desperate to get out there im watching random peoples trips on RUclips haha!
Thanks Brandyn 😊 With travel still being largely restricted, we’re resorting to new adventurous activities, such as ‘portaging’ haha
Cool video! Where did you find a map that has the distance of canoeing required? I always see them label the portage distances but not the water ☹️
Thanks Amanda! The company is called Unlostify and their maps are awesome. They include the distance and estimated travel time, level of difficulty, key landmarks and are waterproof. However, they’re only available for a few Ontario parks (Kawartha Highlands, Killarney, French River, Massassauga, French River). We got ours online from MEC, but they also have their own website with some discounts if you buy more than one!
@@robandmirjana thank you so much! This is awesome help! Yes those are some of the closer backcountry camp sites for me so this is quite exciting! Thank you for sharing
No problem :) hope you enjoy your trips!
Hey!! Great video!! We are a family from Spain with 3 kids from 7,6 and 4 yo and we have booked 3 days camping in Kawartha Highlands? Do you think its safe and feasible? I am specially scared of the animals (specially bears) during the night... Any recos??
Hey, thanks for the comment! Yes I think it would be fine. I’ve seen families with kids at Kawartha (and at Massassauga) during our trips. Since it’s more of a southern campground (compared to Algonquian or Killarney), bears shouldn’t be as much of a worry. We had cell reception the entire trip and we did see people on almost every lake. Since you reserve a spot in advance, you can take your time and not worry about having to find one. Just be sure to bring bear spray just in case! Which route and lakes are you staying at?
@@robandmirjana thanks so much for your answer! So we will Begin in Long Lake Access and we will go to Buzzard, stoplog and cherry. I thought the bear sprays were forbidden in the park! I am specially reluctant of going with the kids 😬
sorry I didn’t see the reply earlier - that sounds like a great route- similar to ours! I’m not sure about the bear spray. you can always try an easier route (let’s say staying 2 nights at the same spot instead of having to pack up and leave) just to see how it goes with the kids!
Hey you two are great!! Mirjana, are you maybe from Serbia or from these areas? I ask because of the name 😁
Yes, I am from Montenegro!!
@@robandmirjana Nice, I was pleasantly surprised when I read your name, it sounds familiar 😀
did you guys really see 3 bears?
Hey Ben, no we actually didn’t see any bears there (that was a joke haha). If you plan on going, be sure to still hang your food (especially from small animals) and bring bear spray to be safe. P.s. If you liked this video, check out our Killarney one as well :)
"didn't die or drown s'all good"
Hahaha
