  • We met up with Anderson Bissoon, a dragon fruit farmer that has been cultivating this amazing crop since 2017.
Dragon fruit is juicy with a slightly sweet taste that some describe as a cross between a kiwi, a pear, and a watermelon with the seeds having a nutty flavour. Dragon fruit is also said to have benefits such as being rich in antioxidants, naturally fat-free and high in fiber, helps lower your blood sugar, contains prebiotics, can strengthen your immune system and can boost your iron levels.
Initially we were asked over by Anderson to taste his hand in a back yard lime last year but it just never happened and he just mentioned that he grew dragon fruit and we just had to capture it. Talk about downplaying the situation...when we got there the scale of the plantation was breathtaking with over 400 plants. We wanted to capture how the crop is harvested from bloom to fruit and get a taste of course.
Special thanks to tropical dragon fruit for being incredibly hospitable and allowing us to film.
Ps: They make a mean smoked bread and pork!

    Amazing ‼️‼️
I was given my first stem about 1 month and and it’s growing nicely.
I’m fascinated by this fruit and happy to see it flourishing in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹

I was now in front of this place and speak to one person to come in because I was there to buy some plants coming from Grande Riviere and it told me that you have to make an appointment to come in that was not nice coming from so far no assistant.
