I was getting a no signal error in the room with my mini genie. When you said the word “input” it reminded me of when I had my fire stick hooked up to that TV and I forgot to put it back on HDMI one. DUH! Problem solved! Thanks dude! 👍🏼

Called our cable company spent an hour waiting for help. The gal had no clue. Was told it would be two weeks till a tech can come out to check the tvo box out. Watched ten seconds of your video and bam we are now connected! Thank you for the video!

If it ever comes to a point to where I have to get a new master box (I have a master and 3 mini Genie's) would I be able to the the DVR chip or whatever and put it in the new one so I'd still have my saved programs, or am I screwed.

I do not have cable if that is the "box" you're referring too. The TV is a 2008 Elemental with HD digital. I have put it on every input and the screen just keeps saying "no signal". Help
Look at what is plugged into the back of your TV. Is it a hdmi? If so what is the other end of that hdmi connected to? If it's a coax line just follow that line to whatever it is connected to.

I have to change my HDMI when I go from PS4 to Firebox, etc... I guess when I switched those, the other plug basically came unplugged slightly. Been messing with it for 20 minutes. One slight push forward, and it's fixed.

What does toggle mean?
All mine says is "Wired Connection Lost" with the only options available being "Try Again" and "More Info". Choosing each of those just either tries to reset (which results in same message) or a list of "check cabling" type of messages.

Maybe I should mention I don't have an HDTV, just one of the old CRT TV's, but I have an RF modulator (I think that's the proper name for it). Anyway, all I did was move my TV (and the various things hooked up to it) to a different part of my room, so the only thing different that resulted in the "Wired Connnection Lost" message is that I plugged the TV (and other stuff) into a different electrical outlet in my room. I have no idea why that would cause this "Wired Connection Lost" message. I'll call DirecTV tomorrow I guess.

I have been resting the DirecTV box via the red button and it fixes the issues but then later on that week it says no signal again and I have to do the same thing. Can it be the box, hdmi cable or the TV or the ports in either the directv box or the tv?
"No signal" is a hdmi or TV issue. Swap hdmi first. Then try the receiver on a different tv.

Wesley Comer hey thanks for the compliments. Advice? Being new everything is going to take time. I'm assuming you are payed piece rate, so don't get discouraged about just closing 1 or 2 jobs a day at first. Speed comes with practice. Don't buy a bunch of fancy tools like you see in my videos. At least not yet. You should have got a standard tool load out from your office. That will be just fine for you as you start. I could go on forever about this job sorry for the long post.
SearchingforSignalLLC Yeah I was told it was piece rate. And I'm only 21 but I have a some background in electrical, with residential and commercial electrician work. And I've been in construction so I consider myself pretty handy. And has a tool guy I find myself buying fancy tools anyway, I'm a little addicted to Home Depot. I'm also a big fan of Milwaukee tools, so I'm quite jealous of your tool box. I just recently bought the fuel hammer drill and impact driver. But I have a FaceTime interview today and she is going to send all the new hire paperwork then I just wait until May 8th and the 5 week training starts. 2 week classroom, 3 week on the job. And it's alright I don't mind the long post. Im just trying to figure out what I'm getting myself into lol

Wesley Comer well you are set if you have Milwaukee fuel tools. Best you can get for this job imho. I've been doing Directv for about 5-6 years if I can remember right.
Directv is easy. Just make sure you have the mast level, and a clear line of sight. The rest is running coax and customer education. I love piece rate pay because the harder you work the more money you make. It will take some time to get proficient though

That's ridiculous and tells you that their technology is NOT up to par with the name brand tv makers' TV models.
Thank you so much for posting the Vizio link! Our Direct TV remote doesn't have an Input button, but the Vizio remote does. Clicking on it fixed the problem and TV is back up & running!

Blake Bayne what error code are u getting? Most likely you have a loose or bad connection somewhere
SearchingforSignalLLC I reset the box and it works now. But it didn't have any picture like it wasn't on the right input.
Blake Bayne check your connections from receiver to tv. Does it say "no Signal" or just a blank screen? Might need a new receiver
We had a storm this morning. The main t.v. works fine. The mini boxes in the bedrooms and kitchen do not. I did what everyone said to do. I unplugged the main box and it went through all the junk and came back on fine. I reset the mini ones more than once and no luck with them. I'm SO sick of this!

Does it say no Signal or "searching for signal"?

Check the input on your TV make sure it is set to the correct choice you plugged your DirecTV reciever into

Swapp HDMI cords and use a different hdmi port. The TV isn't getting Signal from your receiver.

I Have an Answer for ALL of DTV Problems............they were bought out by ATT. It's a shame to see what I regard WAS the best sat provider go to Hell......... I am going to replace them as my provider within the month.
General opinion is ATandT ruin everything they get control of

This advice didn't work for me. It's too simplistic! We have whole home genies. Our main box and one client in my mom's room work. The one in my room stopped working two weeks ago. I tried resetting the box but all I get is no signal in my room and a big old black screen. I replaced both the power, because I had experience with my Visio TV power box going bad, and the HDMI cable. Neither worked. Tried a different HDMI port and that didn't work either. So now basically my mom is paying $8 per month for one client that doesn't work. At this point I don't care, frankly I want her to return the hunk of junk so she isn't paying for it. Obviously whole home Genie is an epic fail and DirecTV needs to go back to full boxes in every room. I just suspect this issue is not fixable even if they sent a new client I guarantee within a few weeks it would fail too.
