    Great channel. I had a massive heart attack in August 2023. While I was in hospital I was also diagnosed with a meningioma (brain tumour) at the base of cerebellum. My BP was through the roof and I was put on all sorts of meds. I read something about how Australian Aboriginal Peoples believe that sleeping on the ground in direct contact with the Earth is paramount to health. I decided to give it a try. I stopped all my meds and I started to sleep in the backyard on the ground (a few strange looks from the neighbours!) and went barefoot everywhere. Including a 10km walk each afternoon. The first night I slept on the ground outside my BP went from an average of 190/110 to 125/75!!! That's after one night!! After four months of sleeping outside and barefooting, I feel fantastic in so many ways. I have dropped 10 kgs, my BP hovers around 120/70, and my 4cm tumour has shrunk to 2cm! That's without any medication at all except for the medical cannabis prescribed by my doctor - which to me seems to work as an excellent adjunct treatment with the grounding. Thanks again for a great vid! Cheers.

      Also it might sound like I'm being mean, but medication exists for a reason.
      When someone says "I stopped all my meds and just did x, y and z" someone else might do it and end up harming themselves.
      I'm glad you're better off, truly, but don't be irresponsible acting like what happened wasn't something short of a miracle.
      I was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor as well, about 3cm. I did what the doctors suggested because if I didn't I would have died.

    So I didn't know anything about grounding & earthing when I started my garden this year. But I have told my husband several times throughout the summer that I feel the best in my garden. I have chronic pain in my feet that basically never goes away EXCEPT when I am gardening with my hands in the dirt. I could never explain it, I thought maybe it was because it was calming etc. But now I think there is much more to it. I wasn't wearing gloves because I had read that getting dirt under the nails was good and helped our immunities so I never wear gloves. There is something to this stuff, and as I posted in a comment below, I don't care if it's a placebo effect if I feel better. But it can't be that if I didn't even know about this ahead of time. This is my experience.

    I personally feel like grounding dosen´t harm your health wich is already an upgrade to normal shoes and our behavior with them. In my experience going barefoot makes you immediately more focused and therefore more grounded. Kinda like mediation or drawing etc. I don't really think that earthing has a huge amount of outcome by itself but it can definitely help if you believe in it and if it makes you stop choosing worse options. Feels like the biggest aspect is becoming kinda more humble and focused on what really matters to our selfs without expecting things to be a miracle, wich a lot of things happen to be called nowadays. hope this makes sense, English isn't my first language.. great video btw., love how you always point out how things work for you and how it isn't equal to being the best for everyone

    I get the concept. As a kid, I grew up playing barefoot in my backyard, playing w dirt, etc. it makes sense. But, 1. Barefoot on the soil can expose us to parasites. 2. Primitive people would’ve killed to have shoes. They lived terrible lives as do current un contacted peoples around the world, and both groups had short life spans. 3. I’m trying it as I have multiple autoimmune disorders, so, if something works, or doesn’t, I feel it IMMEDIATELY (good or bad). It’s like a superpower. I am still reading the literature and I’m nerdy enough to read actual studies and their methods. I’m still giving it a chance still. But, we MUST be more skeptical and seek our own truth. Good luck to whoever is on their own journey.

      @@אריאלברקוביץ-ת5ס That has never been proven, and skeletal remains are almost always folks between late teens and early 30s or 40s (hunting age). Even as someone from Puerto Rico, I know that we didn’t have shoes till the Americans took over from Spain in the early 1900s. We had a lot of parasites and shoes took care of that. I’d love to live a ‘primitive’ (I think they were actually advanced civilizations) lifestyle but shoes do safe lives. What we need to do is balance it out. Not be barefoot all the time and not have shoes all the time. Not be as germaphobic while enjoying some germ indulgence. All excess is where we go off a bit.

    The lack of funding for grounding research says more about the pharmaceutical industry than about grounding. Why do research into a treatment that provides no economic benefits for your company at the end?Inflammation is recognised as a major cause of chronic diseases, however, it's unlikely that young people who are generally free from chronic disease will notice much improvement from grounding. Older people with chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and it's concommitant circulatory issues may however notice the benefit of grounding and, if so, it is worth the outlay for a grounding sheet or whatever. If it doesn't work out for you you still have a new sheet! Even if the only effect is a placebo effect so what? Even the placebo effect is an effect, which is better than no effect, and this medical fact is highly underrated!

    • @Boguardis
      @Boguardis 5 месяцев назад

      Grounding doesn't cause inflammation to go away or be reduced.
      At BEST any study that shows grounding reduces inflammation, it's because of the placebo effect.
      At worst, it's just cherry picked garbage that isn't true.
      Besides, I doubt anyone here has read the study in it's entirety. There were SIX families that were studied. That's the most insignificant study I think I've almost ever read.
      It's as bad as Andrew Wakefields "the MMR vaccine causes autism" study done back in the early 90s.

    Are there not better ways to determine the truth of a matter than merely one's gut feel? A common statement in videos about earthing is that the earth is negatively charged. Is that really true? If so, what makes it that way? I learned in physics classes and text books that the surface of the earth is indeed negatively charged on fair weather days. However, it is not always negative. When thunder clouds move overhead, the negative charges on the bottom of the clouds induces a positive charge on the earth. (Learned from physics.) Have any of the earthing practitioners slept soundly on an earthed mat or earthed sheets when there was a thunder cloud overhead? If so, then their good sleep cannot be attributed to being negatively charged. Placebo effect is a better explanation. Also, if something that can conduct electricity, such as one's body, has excess charge on it, then because like charges repel, all the excess charges will move away from each other as far as possible. The consequence is that there will be no excess charge inside the conductor (body), but instead all of the excess charge is found on the outer surface. Therefore, can there be excess electrons inside the body to engage in desired chemical reactions?
    Why have I not read or heard about a research institution carrying out a study of earthing by having a large group of people sleeping on earthing mats or sheets with a cord that plugs into the wall, but neither the subjects nor the examining doctors know which beds are truly earthed and which are not. I think that would be very revealing. I strongly suspect that neither the patients nor the doctors could tell who was truly earthed and who was not.

      Grounding advocates don't care about science. They care about feelings. Mainly so they can sell shit.
      Otherwise they wouldn't use words like "grounding" which makes absolutely no sense because your body is not a "circuit".

  • @tinyfreckle
    @tinyfreckle 6 месяцев назад +3

    Honestly, most scientific studies are funded by a corporation that has a vested interest in the result. Look at all the studies on the effects of salt, or fat, and who backed them.
    If the aim is to sell as many grounding mats as you can, they would focus only on the effects of the mats and wouldn't emphasise how easy and free it is to just stand barefoot on the earth for 10 minutes.

    • @Boguardis
      @Boguardis 5 месяцев назад +1

      What do you mean? Of course they would, it's not reasonable to sleep on the ground outside. That's why the mats are being sold in the first place.
      Of course its not practical to "ground" yourself without being stationary for long periods of time, unless you're outside for extended periods of time. Which is not practical.

    • @tinyfreckle

      @bobvance- I live New Zealand and there's grass everywhere so it actually is pretty feasible to take a 10 minute barefoot walk or sit on the grass barefoot for a while.

    • @Boguardis

      @Boguardis 5 месяцев назад

    • @tinyfreckle
      @tinyfreckle 5 месяцев назад

      @bobvance- well, there is some evidence, such as the measurable reduction blood cell clumping and, therefore, blood viscosity, which can be seen under a microscope. But I see your point. The actual extent of the benefits remains to be seen, and our fast-paced, modern lives necessitate efficiency with our time, which would make most people want to capitalise on the time they're unconscious to do such a task rather than wasting valuable waking moments idling outside.
