Always loved the single exit exhausts. Got one on my Focus ST and still makes me smile every time I start the car, and get compliments on sound whenever I pass another another Focus st on the streets. Looks great on your subi. The quality of tomei is really impressive, such craftsmanship.
Man I really appreciate the time and experimentation that you have done over the years with the different exhaust systems. Would love to see a ranking video of the exhausts, just from your personal opinion, and why. Being a new STI owner I'm continuing to try and make my mind up of what is right for me. I definitely want louder than stock, but don't want angry neighbor loud haha. Keep up the great content!
Having had a Tomei on my 17' WRX..the video does the exhaust no justice. Sounds amazing in person.
Had the tomei on my sti for a year and loved it but switched to the awe track and love it way more!
I always thought I’d want the alcantara / carbon fiber steering wheel but that one you have is a beauty

I hope you try the grimmspeed catback one time. Looks like a high quality piece and nice design, the mufflers are long and narrow so it would have its own sound compared to the AWE or COBB.
Sounds amazing but the quad tip is just aesthetically more pleasing.

Sound plays a HUGE part of the overall ownership experience for me. Has to sound just right to enjoy it to the fullest. A bad sound can ruin a car for me.

I have my nameless cat back but it’s extremely loud on cold start so I bought a remark single exit with silencer so I have two exhausts but I have cams and all that so I love my muffler deletes.

i’m running a Remark axle back which then i deleted the resonator because it was too quiet for my liking.
i been eyeing a tomei but definitely don’t want to wait 2-3 month for it.
If you do sell it, and no one takes it i’ll take the drive up there to pick it up 😩 but sounds so good !! Awe track sounds more deeper and meaner in my opinion.

Is this exhaust interchangeable from a sedan to a hatchback? If not, why?
When I put my Tomei on the rattling was coming from the little bit of heat shield that was under the back passenger area I removed it and instantly went away.
Same thing with me bought longer exhuast hangers did the trick and my diffuser makes the fitment look prime still
My friend had a tomei on his '18 STI, he liked it but it is such an attention grabber... got one on my Z too, i've started to use the silencer which helps.
Great video! I went with the greddy rs race because I am able to install a silencer in the muffler when I tote my children around. Does the tomei allow for silencers?
Yes. The tomei comes with a silencer as well.

My 2015 sti has invidia catless dp paired with tomei... sounds so good and beautiful pops downshifting but can get annoying on long drives. Love hate relationship

Honestly i didnt like the idea of just a single exit exhaust cus they dont really look proper with these newer models, but i never saw 2015+ sti with a single exit and the exhaust block off. And ngl its growing on me. tbh whatever u do to ur car grows on me eventually 😅
Trust me, I was there with you as well. I wasn’t a fan of the look on the va chassis. However, now that I have one on mine and got to experience it, it looks very good. That is the great thing about what I am doing here. Actually trying different exhaust and experience them, I’m able to formulate actual feedback instead of just guessing. If I didn’t try the tomei and single exit look, I’d still probably say it doesn’t look good.
Yeah I have ran a tomei for about 6 months now and the first thing I did was get rid of those springs …. It worked for a little but now something else is rattling…
I thought this was quiet tbh. It's only loud when you get on it but quiets down on decel or off throttle. I had an ELH and catless downpipe. For the rattly tension springs, I cut 3/8" ID fuel hose longitudinally and slipped them over. Rattles went away.
I just removed the rear springs all together. Honesty no need for them since it’s pretty pressure fitted and the exhaust clamps are plenty strong to hold the connection. The Cobb ti was totally fine with just the clamps.

Does the bend rattle against the rea diff? I have a Tomei and the only way I can get it not to touch the rear diff is to adjust the muffler in a way that has a 3 finger gap. I can make the muffler gap smaller, but it'll touch and rattle against the rear diff.
No sir. It clears everything just fine. I would loosen everything up and work your way back as you tighten. There are a lot of adjustments that can be made so you can position it just right.

All my titanium hardware on the car is from titanium works.
I have the tomei on my 19 wrx. Love it over the nameless deletes because less drone and still loud but honestly I'm probably going to sell my wrx and get a Nissan z. I got offered almost 27k for my base wrx to trade for a new sti but I didn't think the sti was worth it in the end. I have enjoyed my wrx but I barely drive it anymore. I daily my 04 honda and drive the wrx once every couple of weeks.
Nice vid. I miss those pops on downshifts, but man I do not miss that highway drone whatsoever.
This actually is very tolerable in cabin. Has less drone than the awe track.
@@Scoobyfreak86 I took a 4 hr trip from boston to ny, and it was so bad that I ended up selling the Tomei midway thru my trip and picking up a fujitsubo exhaust. I've been happy ever since, it's a very quiet exhaust so probably not for your tastes, but glad you're enjoying the Tomei!

Wrx is different gauges. But you can change what is displayed in the settings.
Have you considered the RK -TI exhaust? you get the titanium sound but its quad tipped and alot louder than the cobb for instance
I get this request nearly anytime I discuss exhausts. It is something I considered, but the lead time on one was pretty substantial. Maybe someday I will look into it, but content with the tomei for now.
I want to switch out my track edition quads for how much drone it has with a catted j pipe on my wrx. The resonator in the tomei helps alot or just get the signature exhaust from rk.
Theres one more exhaust i think you neeed to try. its the magnaflow modX.

I too was hesitant on if I would like the look, but I haven't even thought twice about it. It looks quite good, especially with the block off plate installed.
@@Scoobyfreak86 i have the apr carbon exhaust cutout covers and with the block off it would look a bit odd since the covers are decently large. Found the titanium n1 on sale might end up just ordering it lol.

It's extremely Loud, And what RUclips doesn't translate let you hear , Is the vibration tone that hurts the hell out of my ear It's hard to describe but the rattle n drone is so bad it gives me headaches
What's worse is I deleted rear seats ... the included silencer helps but sounds like shit with it on

How come you dont use a donut gasket or flex pipe after the downpipe?
I am running an aftermarket downpipe that does not use the donut gasket. Stock downpipe is 2.5” and the Grimmspeed is 3”. No need for donut gasket with this setup.
Hey, Chris wanted to ask about the flooring for the garage. I love it it, what is it and where did you get it? Exhaust sounds okay, for me I preferred the AWE but that’s just me. Appreciate all of the time you have taken to check these exhausts out. It certainly helps. My concerns with the AWE are what you have pointed out previously. It partially why I am also considering the Cobb Stainless. But I am afraid it might be too quiet.

Hey buy some different clamps I bought some new more like sturdy lookin ones and my tomei hasn’t moved since. The ones that come with it constantly made the exhaust droop lol
You must have gotten a really good one the welds on mine look like shit and honestly doubt they hold

I’ll tell you my experience w my 2020 sti I bought the car 14 months ago 3 months into it I got a tomei car back like this one and last week 2 of the welds cracked and now buying a ets quad tip tomei is trash 6 maybe 8 years ago it was quality now it’s bs my 2 cents

I don’t think there are any options out there that pair with the tomei. Only option would be to cut it out and weld a piece of ti back in with no res. Don’t think it would be worth the cost and effort though.

Or what are u running..im stock downpipe and I ended up buying a grimspeed adapter but most people don't realize the grimspeed adapter is meant to use the oem donut and there is a large gap because the donut is the sealing point about 1inch off the face of the downpipe..before I did that tho I had the same leak u could literally hear it
@@joshuacole659 yeah I’m on stock downpipe! I’m running the same thing from grimmspeed actually. I might just need to seat it correctly then!
The stock downpipe is a real pain in the arse to seal properly with aftermarket catbacks. If all else fails, smear the fuck out of the flange joints with gasket maker /rtv silicone paste. It should work well, but it will be messy. Use as a last resort.
