"Gravy" referred to what would typically go with Turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. You're getting too caught up here... Each question and group of answers have to be looked at differently. And Fast Money is different than the normal rounds. The way they judge answers changes based on the question and whether it's a regular survey or Fast Money. For example, if the question elicits a bunch of sauces as a response, like what do you put on meatballs - they're going to treat sauce and gravy as different answers, sauce referring to the red spaghetti/pizza sauce, gravy the turkey type. If the question is name an Italian food - and the answers are pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, sauce, etc...... They will accept gravy as a correct answer for sauce.

FOLKS - During the game, when he was asked to name something that people refill, he couldn't think of anything, so he passed on that question. He went on to answer the rest of the questions, and then they WENT BACK to the "refill question" because he had time left, this time he gave the answer "A DRINK", which the game show people (mistakenly) accepted... OFF CAMERA it was determined that his answer was the same answer his teammate gave, so, (again) OFF CAMERA, he was given back the couple seconds he had left when he gave his first answer, and was allowed to guess again, this time saying "gas"... Now, either due to poor editing by the gameshow people, or more likely, because they didn't have enough time to include it in the final cut that ultimately aired, they simply cut-out the entire "re-guess sequence", and just made it flow like he had given that answer the first time. I definitely agree that it appears shady as hell, but if you think about it, there is literally no reason for them to have cheated, especially IN FAVOR of the contestant, and especially since the contestant ended up missing the mark anyway! But this clip is definitely perfect RUclips material, and I'm glad you uploaded it.

It is illegal in the united states to rig a game show. the stakes are too high for the companies involved in producing the game show to even risk rigging or cheating in a game show. GSN is known to either speed up or edit out the shows they broadcast because they have far more commercials than the original channels that broadcast the show. in this case, GSN edited out the interaction between steve and the judges asking the conmtestant for another answer because the judges included water bottle with all drinks.
I was not aware of this program edit; I don't even know if it was done by GSN for this Fast Money round. The speedups on GSN happen with some, not all, programs. I remember watching Dawson episodes from the 70's years ago and in last December, and they were sped up. I do not watch this show regularly as much because the current host tends to be vulgar from time to time. I was hoping for a while for this season (2012-13) to be taken down because of this controversial moment (gas vs. pass). Plus the cars look dated and are no longer manufactured as shown on the show, except for the Jeep Renegade or Compass/Cherokee (one of the names starting with C). The Toyota CH-R which was offered for one season only has been discontinued as of 2023. At one point in 2020 the show tried to give away a Mazda SUV, which was only won once. The Jeep Renegade (still in production) was also offered at one point.

Misleading title, like many comments here which also mentioned this; reality TV and game shows like to edit a bunch out, be it retakes of Hosts or Contestants going over the line or in this case a mistake on the team for accepting "Drink" as to them it was too close to "Water Bottle" which in fairness is similar (maybe a "glass", "cup","mug" etc would have also been too similar as you'd normally refill them with a drink too), so they would have re-asked the question in another take and didn't edit or mention it as they have limited run-time on these or they overlooked it. It's more likely they didn't want to say they messed up and accepted a similar answer by accident, plus they have the rights to change answers willingly anyway since they run the show and T&C you sign when you take part in game shows. With how broad they make the collated audience answers as to group very similar answers as one together, such as drink/water bottle, it's not easy to quickly pick out if the answer given by a contestant is similar at that moment, especially when they are timed and they answer they gave doesn't sound or flag up in your mind as the same straight away. I assume the system they use to make a noise when the answer is similar/same isn't automated at all since it has to be done right there and then without delay in order to be as fair as possible.

They lost regardless since the total would still be between 165 and 197 points. They still could have had 165 points without the 32 points on the second question, or if drink tied water bottle (18 points) their total would have been 179 points. If the second player saying Gas was shown, it still was probably said way after time was up.
I just watched a that came out January 31, 2017 and the last round was only one answer. Well, the question wasn't even read enough to understand the question and the old black lady smacks the buzzer and says "Eggs" I rewound this four times and still didn't get the question. Cheatin! That's what I got out of it too, but then that question if what needs to be refilled, he answered "drink" but then Steve thought he said "gas" when in reality he said "pass" but that was for a different question though. This shows the problems with liberal progressivism and Hollywood elites.
