- Remember that crazy song from the 1950s called “ The Happy Organ”, by Dave Cortez? It was a rock-n-roll organ tune that sounded half like a roller rink and half like a baseball game. Well it played today on the radio and I got to thinking, “It’s a happy song. Why should it be limited to the Organ? Why not make it a “Happy Violin?”
This evening, to my surprise, I was able to arrange a version that plays violin and piano on the Mills Violano Virtuoso and plays some percussion from the shaker egg and tambourine located in the cabinet of my Maestro Banjo.
The song sounds good on a violin! It is really cool how much of the time the violin actually sounds like it might be an organ. I am also pleased with how the percussion turned out. It sounds OK, even though limited to the egg shaker and a tambourine beat.
Hope you enjoy the music. Have a happy day with, “The Happy Violin”.
