Two important questions I wish you would have answered/discussed. 1) If I am choosing to purchase a card for Thailand, do I purchase it in my home country a day or two before I travel or when I arrive? If I arrive and have no wifi how do I purchase it at the airport without logging into the free airport wifi? When does the actual ticker start e.g. If I purchase 7 day esim two days before I arrive in Thailand, does it start at the time I register/purchase it on Saily, two days before I arrive or does it start when I arrive and turn it on (two days after i purchsed it) What phone number assigned?

1. You can purchase the esim a few days before you leave. The esim will be activated automatically when you land in Thailand. This is also the day your ticket starts. Example: you purchase an esim for 7 days today and you fly to Thailand tomorrow. The 7 days will start tomorrow, after you've landed in Thailand.

2. Another good question. You can't use your own phone number, because it's a different SIM. Because it's an esim you can only use it for data so you cannot use it to make calls. For that reason you won't get a number assigned. This does NOT mean you cannot use WhatsApp, Uber or other apps which require a phone number. It only means you can't make actual calls.
