I'm a high functioning autistic man who recently got a $6 per hour raise. This makes me the 3rd highest paid person in the office behind the manager and assistant manager and they have at least 10 years more experience than me. Today, my coworker loudly railed to my manager that I'm the only one to get a raise and it's only because I'm disabled. Apparently, he thinks I don't deserve it when I regularly work 70+ hours a week, I volunteer to work when someone needs a day off, I try, and often succeed, to improve morale every chance I get, I listen to everyone complaining or bragging about everything in their lives and try to remember it all, I've landed very lucrative sales that led to clients wanting retainer contracts, I've established relationships with said clients outside of work on my own time, and many other things I don't want to mention. He shut up when my manager asked how many smoke break he'd had so far that day. He'd had 4 smoke breaks and it was before 11 am. He came in at 9.

Yes.... I have worked with people like that. They always see another employee's elevation as suspicious.... especially if that other person is female, of foreign heritage, non-white, or divergent in any way. If only these outraged souls would look in the mirror and think about their own poor work ethic and start using their energy to really do their job instead of complaining that "those people" are getting ahead of them. Congratulations to YOU... you earned what you received !!!
Hey, listen to this, I just spoke to my manager and he said I'm singlehandedly responsible for 44% of the office's sales for the 2023-24 fiscal year and that's why I got my raise. Also, our sales nearly tripled compared to the previous year.
These people are deplorable!

recruitment is directly tied to economic opportunities _outside of_ the military. (this is especially true in the south)

Recruiting is tied directly with Veteran care. Our Veterans should not have to pay for a band aid or an aspirin much less long term cancer care As a nation if we can provide unlimited medical care for congress members ( that at worse got a paper cut while in office) then The US can provide full and unlimited healthcare to our Warriors and families
How about you PAY military enough they don't NEED FOOD STAMPS? You can make more at Walmart.

Maybe the real reason we have a recruiting crisis in the military is because our troops are treated terribly! Start paying decent wages so that military families don’t have to rely on public assistance to survive, and give better healthcare and mental health support to troops returning from combat zones, and maybe you’ll see an uptick in recruitment!

San Francisco public schools are walking back an equity policy that axed algebra for middle schoolers, a decade after the district put the policy in place.
