  • In this clip from Better Human Better Dog, Todd has no control of his dog. His nervousness and anxiousness causes him to pull on his dog's leashes, making matters only worse. I blindfold Todd so he can learn patience and remove his tension to calmly control his dog.

My dad bought me a jack Russell...bought it off a certified AKC breeder here in Pa. I seen an episode of Caesars and watched how he approached and being round dogs. My jrt super energetic which is normal I knew this before getting it. I followed through on each technique...within 8 mos my jrt could sit, speak, roll over, high five and knew non verbal commands. He was the best dog I've ever had and proves ceasars techniques work if you follow through

Everytime I watch one of his videos, I cannot help admiring Cesar for his psychological skills and, in particular, his endless patience with incompetent dog owners.

I wouldn't call owners who reach out for help and try to solve the issues with their dogs incompetent. The ones who ignore it and dont get the support when they need too. Absolutely.

Caesar I watched all your videos and tried these methods and the TSTS! With my border collie. He stopped everything and we calmly walked around the city. Ive gone 2.5 years with a death pulling to be let off leash to the park. we walked around with none of it.
He sits and looks at me on command. He is not pulling out the door but waiting to follow me.
This happened in a short 48 hours
i am in tears because hes now barely terrified of strangers coming towards us who have told me he needs a muzzle. I am literally changed as a person and much more calm and confident myself thankyou!!! ❤❤❤

Who else noticed how quickly the dog chilled out and laid down as soon as Cesar got the leash??? He didn’t even use his famous poke/sshhttt!!! That alone tells you all you need to know about humans effecting their dogs!!!

How can you use a leash like Ceasar does when your s.all dog has a soft thorax?

    • @footfault1941
      @footfault1941 Месяц назад +1

@@carolgilstrap8854 let's get, friend. I'm not a dog whisperer, why not ask Cesar? The footage shows us using a leash is a technical approach to prevent a dog from dragging you forcefully with his whole body. More precisely, a dog held close to the head can exert less force, which gives owners an upper hand in control (Cesar used this technique somewhere else, too). Composure of owners is the one that plays a crucial role. "Zen" spirit - staying calm. To say is one thing, to do is .... With patience! What I'm not quite sure about is your saying "soft thorax". What does it mean? Leash is to be put around the neck unlike harness.

I don't think so. Not only pulling but many other issues with a dog need the owner to be trained about. For instance, to keep calm under stressful situations like thunderstorms, fireworks etc

Great blindfold, but if Cesar hadn't told him what was coming or what was passing by, I feel that would have been a better demonstration. Telling him there were two big dogs coming, while he was blindfolded, kind-of, made the blindfold worthless because the man is going to be anxious about that, and pass it to the dog.

Easier said than done last year my rescue weighed 64 pounds I will go tomorrow and get his new weight. I have gone from a rope to a harness I am female still having issues. Cesar. Both dogs are rescues the other one is 12 pounds and barks at every dog we meet. He also tries to fight while my bigger dog is pulling

Thanks for the vids. I'm bad for correcting and trying to train friends dogs when I visit, am I wrong? I've a feeling I am. Barking and misbehaving dogs annoy me and I can't help trying to train them. I guess I shouldn't because they aren't mine and it's in vain and half hearted. Just have to train myself to ignore it.

Just have one question about the rope leash if anyone can help. I have 2 year old chihuahua and realy whant to try this kind of training on her but I have heard that they have realy delicate neck and that leash like that can couse trahea colapse. So is it posible to work like this on a chihuahua?

Sometimes it's hard to a dog owner control nerves and anxiety. People are not robots. Not every dog owner is able to stay cold and think. But they can learn. The most people learn, the best their dogs will live. So, I don't put the blame on anyone. They need to learn and, at least, the man is trying.

Is tail docking still allowed in America? In Australia it has been banned for years although I remember hearing about it in my childhood when a friend told me her farmer father had used an axe on all his new puppies. I still feel sick thinking about it. 😢

Still permissable. I seen ear cropping done. Unconscious, clean vet clinic, and done correctly. My bull terriers get their dew claws removed. There are procedures done to dogs, getting them done correctly is a proper owners job. I am old fashioned, and prefer cropping for the respective breed.
