I just bought that one, just one question, I saw in your video you bypassed connecting the REAR and the TRANS, but in the eufy video says FRONT and TRANS. Can it be any of the 2 options?
Yes, I believe the doorbell I was doing it on was wired incorrectly to begin with.

First of all thank you so much for your detailed video.
I do have a quick question / issue on Homebase2 connection to my router.
I do have tp-link Deco X20 mesh system, when I try to connect my homebase2 with the internet , it has blue blinking light only and then I could see error message "Network Exception, please try again later."
With an error screen titled "Unable to add HoemBase2".
Could you please help me out? I tried everything reset, unplug power cable, router restart, reset button on homebase2 but it just keep blinking blue led. Help would be highly appreciated 🙏🏼

You can save it directly or download it to your phone and then you can transfer it. I just installed mine today and I'll be making an unboxing installation and review video.

To release it you need a special key. I bought it for back Friday and love it

@@bb.cute.channel I don't have a Chromecast device but according to eufy you can stream to smart devices with a screen (Amazon echo show and chrome hub) I personally have not tried it yet

Thank you for your excellent and thoughtful review. I like the way you explained Eufy's various options and the comparitive analysis to the other doorbell cameras on the market. I liked your explanation so much so, that I ordered the Eufy 1080p. Also, I was able to find a doorball mounting bracket for 4" vinyl siding made to fit the Eufy, so that the doorbell camera will sit flush on the siding. Again, great job.
Update: Using this video I installed my wired Eufy doorbell in just a few minutes. I decided to not bypass my exisiting doorbell chimes hoping that the multiple chimes would make it loud enough we could hear the doorbell all over the house. But the existing doorbell didn't work, instead my existing doorbell just made a loud humming sound. Once I installed the jumper to bypass the existing chimes the humming went away. I was concerned that the Eufy chimes provided wouldn't be loud enough. But that concern was short lived. The Eufy is plenty loud enough. Anyway, everything works great.
This is The Best video review of the Eufy doorbell camera and I’ve watched dozens of them. Very thorough, very easy to understand and you explained everything in simple words for us non-techies. I mean, seriously I didn’t even know what HDR meant until you explained it. So thank you for keeping it simple. Great video!

Well, technically, it's subscription free with the purchase of the home station though the older wired one with only a ringer stores on an SD card with the option of a cloud storage subscription, problem with the SD card on the doorbell is that if the doorbell is stolen so too would be the videos of the theft. What we need to do is a net present value or internal rate of return calculation for the expected useful life of the product to compare the capital costs of the Eufy versus the combined capital cost and ongoing costs of the products such as Ring which require a subscription. Also not that a rate premium or in this case detriment must be added to the estimated market rate as there is the possibility the company providing the subscription service may go out of business, or otherwise cease to offer the service. I'm always surprised these consumer advice videos never do NPV or IRR calculations.
Another thing is whether or not someone could extract your WiFi password from the external doorbell unit. If so, it may behoove you to but another WiFi router to set up a separate SSID for only the external devices (perhaps use the optional guest SSID on many WiFi base stations) so that at least they won't get access to devices such as any smart locks you may have, internal cameras etc., however this would probably mess up Alexa and Google Assistant, as well as the base station unless you set up your own custom firewall router or preferably bridge between the various SSID's to allow some access but not all.

Hi Brett. I installed the Eufy Doorbell on the front door. It works great. The problem is now the back door doorbell will not work because the Eufy disables the original chime. How do I get the old back door doorbell to chime again?
Can I just use the existing chime? Or does it need to be the new eufy one?

Sounded great right up until THE most important function.. Ring the bell or even motion detect and automatically show a live image on the Google Hub and it's... OMG total fail. Next.
this also works on android tv from phillips. When there is a call that you receive a message on TV.

It’s just so annoying that I can’t get google hub to work like the phone.. when someone presses the doorbell it doesn’t come up, only availible on the phone.

Could I simply remove the chime completely and connect the trans and front wires with a nut, shove it all back inside the wall, spackle and paint so its like the chime was never there?

I also noticed my video editor (Adobe Premiere Pro) also did the weird thing with the video render. I didn't use scale to sequence as I wanted to keep the original 2K video size.

tammygirlm Is your account that you are using the one that really owns the doorbell, or is it linked to the account that owns the doorbell? My email was linked to the main email for the person who owns the doorbell, and every time I tried to put my email in for it to try to link them, it wouldn’t work. However, when I tried putting the main account in, the one who really owns the doorbell, and set it up, it worked, and was able to discover the device. If it is already linked, check in the devices page of your Alexa app, and see if you can get it from there. Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I am just trying to explain what worked for me! Hope it helps!

My problem is that the background is overexposed and becomes a blinding white during the day, even the lawn is a blinding white. Now when the streaming starts, it starts off fine with the opposite house in clear detail but this quickly brightens to a uniform white for everything beyond the porch, if WDR is enabled, the image is viewable for a second longer but still adjusts till it's a blinding white. People that approaches the door are clearly visible and we have a long covered approach but anything not covered is simply unviewable during the day except at the very very beginning of the streaming session. There seems to be no way to adjust brightness through the app. I really think it should have brightness controls for various times of the day or depending on overall brightness that you could set.
If I Get The Ring Doorbell I Like It
I had the 1080p battery version of this and it seemed to fulfill all my hopes for a system. However, I found the alerts to be spotty; it sometimes worked perfectly with no or few false alerts and other times missed multiple persons entering my front door and alerted to it's adjusting for light conditions when on motion. Since I use it to monitor comings and goings, I sent it back. Customer service spent a lot of time with me, but in the end suggested it wouldn't ever work. I tried both human recognition and motion alert. Really disappointed.
Thanks for your review, please could you mention what happens if your cam is stolen from your door? Some companies refund you, also some eufy users are claiming that if Eufy cam s stolen, thief can reset the cam and use it for himself and also reset your footage wiping it.. No one ever talks about this when reviewing.
It’s not good when they say 160 degrees DIAGONAL field of view on the side, but on the back it just says only 160 degrees field of view. I just want the horizontal field of view. At least they say it somewhere I suppose.

is this doorbell compatible with Eufy cameras that use the Homebase to store recorded video? It looks like it uses the same app but how can an app have 2 sources for video (doorbell stores its video and the homebase stores all cameras)?

Looks nice and better than Nest but this is still no available in Canada 🇨🇦.. I need this after 2 months and hopefully they will launch in Canada by that time .. Ring can close this shop if this launches in Canada 🇨🇦 as they cannot beat their price
3:22 why did you disconnect the existing doorbell? Also, would the doorbell wires charge the battery (this is the case with ring). Lastly, can the footage stored on the homebase be accessed when out on the road (seeing that it's not cloud based footage) thanks great channel keep up the good work

You need to do an update of this I have heard firmware upgrades have it working Alexa and Google plus storage is becoming available with there Homebase soon take a look at battery version for for launch it has homebase

Can the Eufy work with Alexa routines? For example: My Alexa app can see my Nest cam and show it on the screen, but it will not show up as a device in the routines.
Yes, it works with Alexa routines, you can make a routine with "when the doorbell is pressed" then .... When the doorbell is pressed, Alexa will says that someone is at the doorbell. You can ask Alexa to show the doorbell.

The two way communication is only through the app. The smart displays can only view the camera feed.

how would you wire it if you have a front and rear door bell but want the back to still work, with the front door bell with the camera ?
From my understanding it completely disables the door chime. Getting a second digital chime near the backdoor could solve the problem. See the FAQs here: www.eufylife.com/products/variant/video-doorbell/T82001J1

Your videos keep getting better. You explain things very clearly and give good quality reviews.
Just a note. Ring Doorbell 2 can be hardwired and battery so can use the battery as backup as well as hardwired power at the same time. I installed one a little while ago.
Ring has some delays in video feeds though and Echo integration is still very delayed.
