Very sad these things are having to happen but it is imperative the horses, guards and all other staff are kept safe.
They are the ones guarding the visiting “diplomats”.
This has nothing to do with the safety of the horses, guards, or their staff. On the contrary, they are the ones potentially putting themselves at risk to protect official visitors from other countries.

Good question. I didn't realize the importance of the guards, that's because I never looked into it and thought it was just for show. But I read on one of these videos that they're actually guarding. It's too bad people who travel there don't look into it first. I respect the guards and horses more than before.
@@rhondabenz3150We are a combat ready regiment, there are 7 regiments 5 foot guards, 2 cavalry ( tanks) ceremonial is only a small part of what we do.
My regiment lost 15 men in Afghan and 47 with life changing injuries.
We are not just for show, we are the senior regiment of the British army that is why we guard are King and the royal family

These people clearly don't know that horse could kill them in a second. Horses spook easily. MOVE OUT OF THE WAY IF THE GUARD IS TRYING TO SETTLE A HORSE. DON'T TOUCH THE REINS. EVER!
I have had concerns for a while. .Children get so close to these beautiful animals. The horses are not for an animal petting centre. The guards are highly trained soldiers.

British Army has PR photographers within it's ranks. It could be an adjutant, rank and file officer.

While ever1 was concentrating on the cars and the armed police never think the rooftops on either side where not nestling long barrel operatives and there wasn't a number of fully trained and armed to the teeth anti terror squads lurking nearby on alpha response. such is the world we live in 2day sad but true having said that I would rather the aforementioned personnel where in place just in case.

If this is a military installation, why are there no armed soldiers instead of police. I understand about the ceremonial troops, but why no armed soldiers instead of police?
We don't see everything and everybody.
Because soldiers are not permitted to be armed in a civil area. That's the remit of the MoD police and Police armed response units if required. The armed forces will not be used against the public.
Those ‘ceremonial’soldiers are trained in combat too
They are MOD [Ministry of Defence] Police, armed, they only have jurisdiction inside the gates and around the horses. They are not MET [Metropoitan] Police -unarmed in the UK. Mod Police are not in the military but a civilian special force that are charged with providing armed security and counter-terrorism services to designated high-risk areas, as well as uniformed policing and limited investigative services to Ministry of Defence property, personnel, and installations throughout the United Kingdom.
That's why MOD has their own police there. Soldiers are not armed in civilian areas.

They are tourists on holiday not school children on an educational day out.
When we are tourists in another country do we always know and understand or even care about others cultures! I think not.

The Brits should thoroughly check out whoever is coming through the gates since it’s a military facility. Access to this facility seems kind of lax whereby everyone and their cousin is allowed to come through the gates since it’s an historical facility. Maybe if the Brits tacks on an admission fee, for admission and for administration fee for setting up the new admission procedure.
