@@nsasupporter7557 I'm a fan of that movie! Really dont care who doesn't like it (which it a majority) wish they would have done a sequel (too late now)
I think you guys missed the post-credit sequence. The neighbor Hunsiker was infected by the ALZ-13, went to the airport for his flight, and had eventually spread the virus around the planet, leading to a deadly pandemic.
true... i think thats one of the key scenes, cause it shows that apes did not just kill most humans. The cure/virus killed the human civilization since it was so deadly.
You won’t believe how silent everyone was at the theater when Caesar yelled, “No!” It gave me goosebumps back then and still gives me goosebumps now! 😱😱😱
The "damn dirty apes" line by Tom Felton is a reference to the iconic line in the original. It's actually a direct line. You guys should really watch the original, absolutely iconic
That's not the only reference! Even Caesar's "No!" reflects the original film storyline wherein the ape domination started from a single ape refusing a human: by saying "No". This fact was stated in Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1972), by Dr. Cornelius, who was original Caesar's father. In the Rise film, there was a female ape introduced as Cornelia which the visitors mistook as male. I still have so much references to name including the Bright Eyes nickname, the water hose punishment inside a cage, but I fear I'm spoiling it for people who haven't seen the original series yet. Also! Tom Felton's character's name is Dodge Landon, which are both the names of Charlton Heston's two space companions, Dodge and Landon.
@@月_12 this is also a semi-remake of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes with the main difference being that Caesar's mother in the original series was from the future, not the subject of an experiment
Andy Serkis brings so many characters like Caesar to life. It makes me mad how much he is overlooked when it comes to being nominated for an Oscar. I know he has won some other awards, but I want that big award for him! It isn't just his voice, it's full-body performance. The second movie is really good too.
I think Will's character portrayal is perfect for the role. He is someone who becomes a guardian without any warning or control and slowly morphs into a father figure for Caesar. His actions really seem like desperate attempts to be a good parent while also losing his own father in the process. I think the tragedy comes from Will's human emotions and his realization that he has made so many faulty mistakes on the way while letting Caesar down.
I also think that the lab he works for either has poor protocol or none at all when it comes to handling the chimps. So many things went wrong and it seemed preventable.
I love the use of the "NO" sequence. While the reusing of the iconic quote from the original Planet of the Apes film felt forced, it did help lead the audience into the reveal of Caesar being able to speak. When I saw this in theaters, the iconic quote made people laugh, which I guess was the intention. But the moment Caesar yelled "NO", everyone went silent. It was a very well-done sequence.
One of the little reasons I love this channel ... 47:42 Hayley's comment really tickled me 😂 And there's Nobu, chilling and drinking his tea! This was a great reaction you three! Thank you! 🙂
Caesar is a great leader of the apes. And all of the different apes characteristic is very well done in this movie. Also it's very heartbreaking that Caesar lost his mother when he was a baby.
I always find a little funny that Caesar tells Buck (the gorilla) to not kill that one cop. Only for a few minutes later Buck toss another cop off the bridge lol.
In a deleted scene, Rodney tends to Caesar and offers him a cookie. This may better explain why Caesar chose to only imprison him rather than letting the apes kill him. In the original ending, which was actually filmed, Will dies saving Caesar from being shot. It was changed a month before the movie was released. The scene was shot on July 4th and took 3 hours to film. It put a lot of pressure on the post-production team for a movie that had to open by August 5th, but it worked out fine in the end. Also, guys, come on! Draco is an angel compared to Dodge. But speaking of Harry Potter, Rupert Grint arrived at the movie's premiere wearing a t-shirt that read "I ❤ Tom Felton" which is just ICONIC.
I think that scene wasn't necessary. Bc it would have made it a decision based what he did for Ceasar. Instead of sparing hip bc it was clear that he was good natured, cared about the animals and was bullied by and subservient to Tom Feltons character. It means that Ceasar can have empathy and be a good judge of character based on who that guy was rather than on what he has done for him. And that's very smart and very kind.

I always admired how Caesar never wanted to kill the humans in this trilogy, rather just break free from their rule. I never saw it as him being weak, but as Caesar actually being the bigger individual. Caesar was a great leader because he kept his eye on the actual goal, which was for his kind to be free from human rule. He only killed when it was absolutely necessary and he always did his best to not make things personal. He didn’t force the apes to hate the human race, he didn’t ask them to kill every one (like Koba), he just thought about what was best for his kind. Caesar knew in order to be a higher species you must be better than the ones who abused you. I saw the trailer for the 4th movie and I’m so hyped for it! Tho it seems some apes have learned nothing from the humans and are beginning to act just like they did after becoming the dominant species. Hopefully this knew character will take after him and follow in his footsteps.
James Franco's character failed to realize how much lucid Caesar is, and the repercussions of that. He loved Caesar but was still imagining them living in the same house together.
So stoked that you finally watched this! One of my favourite trilogies. I watched 2 & 3 in the cinema. Very special and emotional. As ever, thank you. 💕
The sequence just after Caeser exposes the apes to the drug, he wasn't just making eye contact. He was checking if their eyes were showing signs of green or not.
21:56 Having interacted and lived with scientists/engineers like James Franco's character (Will), him being "dumb" about the whole situation is quite realistic. They are brilliant in their field but (ironically) lack forethought and accounting for variables outside of their field of expertise. (This is not meant to be a blanket statement; just my experiences with some of the scientist/engineer types.)
As a matter of fact, Tom Felton started his career as a child actor at the age of 9. He appeared in the movie The Borrowers, which I personally like a lot. It's a cute little movie. By 2023, he already has 52 movies under his belt and I hope we can see him on the big screen many more times.
The end credit scene explains so much! It's essential to see, the rest of the series in the movies don't make as much sense if you don't see that going into it, watch it before the next movie.
My mom has early onset dementia so this movie and the motivations hit really hard 😢 I remember going into seeing this and not expecting much and left feeling so emo and just more infatuated with Andy Serkis as a performer
I decided to watch this movie series with not many expectations, just to see what is it about... Little did I know of how much it's gonna captivate me and how deeply I'd care for the characters and the whole story. Such a surprise to me how much I loved it and love it till this day
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is gonna be the 4th Koba’s scars are actually from abuse. There’s a bridge novel between this and the second that goes into his backstory. It’s pretty sad Thank god you have subtitles for the later ASL. Idk if you have the subtitles on in general, but you’ll definitely need them if you don’t see the translations witht the other two “He looks like a Maurice.” He is named after actor Maurice Evans from the original movie whose character was an orangutan
I’ve recently been on a kick reading about animal attacks and watching Will keep Caesar in the house with him disturbed me so badly. I’m scarred by chimp attacks lmao
So this is a Prequel to the original series. "Bright Eyes" and the "Damned Dirty Ape " line are pulled straight from the 1968 movie. This prequel series wasn't something anyone asked for or expected but was exceptionally well done
5:35 I agree. The whole moral of Nope is you can never fully control animals and always take the proper safety precautions with them. The same applies here, whether Bright Eyes was in mama bear mode or not
This is one of the best movie series EVER. If you guys want to know why the effects are so good on this movie you have to check out the behind the scenes and the mocap, it’s mind-blowing. They actually had mocap and ape experts teach the actors how to be an ape. You’ll never look at it the same way again, it’s absolutely amazing. I’m beyond excited for the fourth one to come out, it’s been too long and the fact that the trilogy wrapped up so nicely it’s a nice surprise to learn we are diving back into this world. 😄
Also it should be known when Caesar popped those cans he was already smart but he got a second dose in standing in the aisle while the others got their first dose... The second dose is truly amazing.... And it shows more in the other movies
The Nooo from cesar is amazing and its also a reference. In the original 3rd planet of the apes movie we are told the first word ever told by an ape to a man was the word no by an ape named cesar. In the 4th movie, the one with cesar(these movies are essentially remakes of the 3rd through 5th movies) his first word definitely wasnt no but its awesome they included it in these remakes.
There are six living species of apes, four of which live(and or originated) in Africa and two that live in Asia. Humans obviously originated in Africa but have now spread out not only throughout the world but in space lol! The other three species of ape from Africa are gorillas, chimpanzees, and bonobos. Chimps and bonobos are very closely related to each other and are our closest living relatives, but are the exact opposites behavioral wise. Chimpanzees live in communities called troops, they are led by a dominant male and are usually quite kind to their troop members but are incredibly territorial and aggressive towards any chimps outside of their own troop, there have been multiple accounts of chimpanzee wars in the wild, usually prompted by dominant males having territorial dispute, very similar to our species. Bonobos on the other hand are probably one of the most peaceful animals on our planet, they usually live in matriarchies meaning they are led by a female. and they have an incredibly unique way of communicating, largely done through sexual interactions including different positions intercourse. The third species of African ape is currently the largest species, the gorilla. They can average up to 300 pounds and 6ft standing up. There’s not really too much to say about them, they’re basically just bigger, stronger, slightly less intelligent chimpanzees. There are four different sub species of gorilla, two of which live in tall mountains. When a male gorilla gets older it starts growing silver colored hair on its back similar to how humans grow silver hair when they get older. This has nothing to do with their status in their troop. Orangutans are the fourth species of great ape, they are currently the only species that lives in Asia, in the rainforest of Indonesia and Borneo. They have incredibly thin and light fur which appears a bright orange color when hit by sunlight. They are easily the best ape at climbing and have adapted long powerful arms, perfect for swinging through the Bornean canopies. They’re also the only species of ape that don’t live in large communities like we do, they are pretty much solitary, with males holding claim to large territories that they will allow certain females to enter whenever they like. They are the species of great ape we are least closely related to as they evolved from a completely separate group of great apes that lived in Eurasia long ago. The last species of ape, the gibbon, is the only species considered to be a lesser ape, because it is the species that is closest related to other primates such as monkeys. Like orangutans they are also endemic to Asia, and often share territory with orangutans when allowed to. They also have incredibly long and powerful arms for swinging in canopies. The largest species of gibbon is called the siamang, and they have a unique throat pouch that they can use to make very loud booming howls and whoops so they can communicate with each other through long distances.

This movie was absolutely amazing at building tension in every scene. I spent the entire movie being so anxious, I couldn’t even finish the second movie because of how invested I was in the apes and gorillas and waiting for something bad to happen.
This is a very nice first of a series. I liked this one and liked the others too since they are differente and tied at the same time. Caesar is a leader and he will face what leadership involves pretty soon. A great story.
@@TimeIsAnIllusionBCipher Sorry, they go up to 5. PLANET , BENEATH , ESCAPE , CONQUEST, and BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES. Thats the original movies. ( not the Tim Burton one though)
Tom Felton had the main male role in a movie written by Spencer's actress from Pretty little liars. Movie is called Feed, released in 2017. His Draco Malfoy personality really fit the personification of an eating disorder voice. I highly recommend the movie.
I didnt expect Y'all to react to this but I absolutely love it🥰 Also i suggest u guy's watch the other two movies with subtitles too cause there is a LOT of Sign language 😇
Who'd have thought that breathing such fresh life into what was, by all accounts, a dead franchise was even possible. This is a great trilogy that was much better than it had any right to be. Rise did an excellent job setting up the films while also having an excellent story on its own seeing Caeser rise from a mere ape with intelligence to a leader. I feel like it gets underrated compared to the sequels.
Shout out to Karin Konoval as Maurice, Terry Notary who plays Rocket and Caesar’s mother (who was also the movement coach since the Tim Burton remake) and Richard Ridings as Buck among others. Plus the whole "no" scene was in reference to the third film in the original series, Escape From the Planet of the Apes, where they mention the origins that an ape defies human oppression by saying the word "no" and everyone involved with this knew that they had to nail that scene. Though will say it is amazing how even though we all know this is a prequel to Planet of the Apes, it surprises everyone when that scene plays.
oo!! so i saw this in cinemas back in 2011. one of my favourite cinema experiences ever was the moment caeser says 'NO!' absolutely shocked, gasps in the theatre. such a huge moment. crazy to think the next movie is so much better!! dawn is apocalyptic hamlet with dual assault rifle wielding apes on horseback.
Tom Felton’s character does have a name, but I think he should have been named Mr. Homage. Everything he does and says in this film is a homage to the original film. He sprays Caesar with the hose, which is a role reversal of a scene in the original. He says the lines, “It’s a mad house! It’s a mad house!” and the classic “Damn dirty apes”.
26:50 The reason the alpha there was soo agresive with Cesar was because hes posture, Cesar was standing up, which is a dominant posture with apes, Cesar wouldnt know because he live with apes soo for him that a normal posture but for the alpha there he challenge him.
This entire trilogy is horrendously underrated. And the score is phenomenal, it’s enough to move you to tears. I never thought they could make a Planet Of The Apes origin story so flippin epic but they nailed it. 😄
I love how this trilogy take what the original 60’s set and expanded, we have Caesar, the first ape to speak. Changed from the original, but for the better. We have the pandemic, which was such a good background nod, they didn’t even mention it, just slipped it in there. The space mission, which I’m sure is a nod to the astronauts from the original… I also caught Caesar was building a mini Statue of Liberty, definitely a nod to the ending of the original PotA. And of course, Tom Felton delivering the iconic line. Charleston Heston got to say it twice, and now Tom. Overall, I love this trilogy.

Such a surprise to me how much I loved it and love it till this day
NICE!
I did watch the first and third films in the series, but never watched the second one.
Coming next summer:
KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is gonna be the 4th
Koba’s scars are actually from abuse. There’s a bridge novel between this and the second that goes into his backstory. It’s pretty sad
Thank god you have subtitles for the later ASL. Idk if you have the subtitles on in general, but you’ll definitely need them if you don’t see the translations witht the other two
“He looks like a Maurice.” He is named after actor Maurice Evans from the original movie whose character was an orangutan
love this movie, rewatched the trilogy last week and Its just such beautiful cinematography
Fun fact: the desk clerk at @22:20 is Karin Konoval who does the mo-cap for Maurice the orangutan.
I loved how they used the famous line from the first movie "get your hands off me you damn dirty ape"!
And " Bright Eyes" referring to Charlton Heston
5:35 I agree. The whole moral of Nope is you can never fully control animals and always take the proper safety precautions with them. The same applies here, whether Bright Eyes was in mama bear mode or not
That ''NO!!!'' always gives me massive chills
This is my fave of the trilogy but they’re all so good.
The 2nd and 3rd movies are just epic!
I am so happy you guys started watching one of my fav trilogies ever! i can assure you, you won't be disappointed!
Oh one of my favorite franchises.
Loved the reaction.
Woah I do primatology in my degree and this was so cool to read!
The interesting thing about Bonobos is also that they are not lead by the strongest female but by the one that is best at making social connections.
I love that you folks know it has to go to violence to get to peace. That's where the rest of the movies go. Glad you feel it.
It's always a pleasure to see other RUclips channels react to this trilogy.
Yoo White Noiissee. I'm so glad you are reacting to the Planet of the Ape films and tbh all of then are awesome but my favorite woukd be the 2nd one which I cant wait for you to see which is Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
24:45 yeah at the time most ppl that hire Tom they pretty much want him to act like Draco from Harry Potter. Now these days he plays various type of roles which is cool to see his acting skills.
The best "NO!" in movies ever! Big hug from Brazil, guys!
Having seen the original movies ( 6 of them ). You get the imagery, homages , and set ups leading up ...
what is the 6th one? I searched the movies up and don't see the 6th one...
@@TimeIsAnIllusionBCipher Sorry, they go up to 5.
PLANET , BENEATH , ESCAPE , CONQUEST, and BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES. Thats the original movies. ( not the Tim Burton one though)
@@dcamaraman939 I’M ON THE FOURTH ONE D!!! Its so much more than what I thought was possible. Like duuuuude THE REFERENCES GO CRAZY
I also don’t want to spoil anything but THE HEARTBREAK I’VE EXPERIENCED IS CRAZY
Yes! I can’t wait to see your guy’s reaction to this!
Fun fact: 53:46 "Take your stinking paw of me..." is a throwback to the original. There it's the first time the apes hear a human speak...
Tom Felton had the main male role in a movie written by Spencer's actress from Pretty little liars. Movie is called Feed, released in 2017. His Draco Malfoy personality really fit the personification of an eating disorder voice. I highly recommend the movie.
It always gets me emotional at the end.
I didnt expect Y'all to react to this but I absolutely love it🥰
Also i suggest u guy's watch the other two movies with subtitles too cause there is a LOT of Sign language 😇
45:18
Earlier in the movie, Will mentioned that Caesar plays chess really well
Here in this scene, you see his skills as a strategist
Loved this movie series!!!! Glad you guys are watching it!! Hope to see you guys watch The Legendary Godzilla series!!! Have a blessed day!
One of best things about this reaction is you guys getting so excited you just resorted to monkey noises XD
oo!! so i saw this in cinemas back in 2011.
one of my favourite cinema experiences ever was the moment caeser says 'NO!'
absolutely shocked, gasps in the theatre. such a huge moment.
crazy to think the next movie is so much better!! dawn is apocalyptic hamlet with dual assault rifle wielding apes on horseback.
oh you guys are gonna love Dawn and War. Can't wait!
I saw this in theaters and I still remember how shocked and silent everyone was when Ceaser said NO!!!
Idk what it is about this channel but I’m just so happy watching their vids. I love it here
This movie is not a remake, it’s a prequel to the original
yayy, I was wondering if anyone has already suggested it!! It's one of my favorite trilogies of all time
So happy y'all started these there One of my fa♥️orite trilogies soon quadrilogy can't wait for the next ones looking forward to em 😁👍
Oh SUCH an amazing movie, honestly an unexpected gem after what the previous movies had to live up to!
I love this movie, love the "noooo!" Part❤
The sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is fantastic. One of the best follow-ups ever made. Looking forward to that video
Fun fact: the receptionist that James Franco’s character talks to about getting Caesar did the motion capture for Maurice
(At 37:13) You know what''s weird? Caesar used this gas on all the apes in the cages, except the gorilla because he was locked isolated.
I forgot how much I like this movie lol, it’s just so entertaining
26:50 The reason the alpha there was soo agresive with Cesar was because hes posture, Cesar was standing up, which is a dominant posture with apes, Cesar wouldnt know because he live with apes soo for him that a normal posture but for the alpha there he challenge him.
I never realised that was Agent Kallus Hailey until you pointed it out!😲
Well i dont wanna ask but for the boys where is stella in the thumbnail.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
This entire trilogy is horrendously underrated. And the score is phenomenal, it’s enough to move you to tears. I never thought they could make a Planet Of The Apes origin story so flippin epic but they nailed it. 😄
The Legend of Tarzan is another good movie. Idk how they did it but it looks so real!
Thaaanks for the heads up on The Rebels! Thats awesome!
So much fun thanks
